Aaron’s POV

“Alpha Aaron," Esmeralda's voice trembled, her eyes filled with fear as I returned to the main grounds after reassuring my Luna, my mate, that everything would be okay.

But Esmeralda’s words cut through my resolve, shattering my hope into a million scattered shards. "I think we have a problem."

My heart clenched as my mind raced, anticipating the worst. Dread settled heavily in the pit of my stomach, causing my breath to catch in my throat. "What is it?" I managed to utter, my voice tight with anxiety—every fibre of my being prayed that her response wouldn't confirm my darkest fears.

"It's a body," Esmeralda whispered, her voice filled with sorrow and hesitation. "By the lakes."

The weight of her words seemed to suffocate the air around us. My legs threatened to buckle beneath me as my thoughts immediately turned to Carrie, our beloved child who had been ripped away from us. Images of her face, her smile, flooded my mind, conflicting with the chil

"Aaron, something doesn't feel right. There's a nagging feeling within me, urging us to look further into this situation," I voiced my concerns aloud. I stroked Carrie’s hand as her eyes remained closed and wished that she would wake up already. I wanted to hug her close to my chest. I had missed her. Aaron glanced at me, unsure how to respond, before finally giving a solemn nod. "Isla... I trust your instincts. If you feel we need to pursue this, then we will. But we must proceed with caution." Before I could respond, our conversation was abruptly interrupted by the sudden appearance of my mother, accompanied by an unfamiliar figure. A sense of unease settled within me as I noticed the gravity etched on their faces. “Isla, may we have a word?" my mother's voice held a severe tone, ca

Isla’s POV “What?” I blinked several times, wondering if I had heard my friend correctly. “Yes. Luna, Alpha. She claims to have important information.” Sasha explained. “She seems genuine, and we should see what she has to say.” I turned to Aaron, who gave a slight nod of agreement. “Yes. Let's check this out,” he said. “I am coming.” I insisted before he could order me to stay here. “Sasha, wait here.” As we reached the border, I saw a figure standing just beyond the line. It was a woman, her posture rigid and confident. I could sense the power emanating from her, and it only fueled my curiosity. “Hello there,” Aaron called out. I could sense his uncertainty. Approaching cautiously, I spoke, "Who are you, and how do you know about Carrie? What is it you want from us?” The woman gave me a small smile before replying, "Luna Isla. Alpha Aaron. Good to see you both. My name is Celeste, and I have been closely monitoring your situation. You see, I have connectio

Isla’s POV "We received word that Carrie is awake," I reminded Aaron as we returned to the main packhouse, Celeste walking beside us. Just as we approached, Beta Nigel appeared, his surprise evident upon seeing Celeste. "Luna Isla," Nigel greeted me, his curiosity piqued. "Jameson is with Carrie, along with your mother. But who is this?" he asked, gesturing towards Celeste. She calmly extended her hand towards Nigel, who hesitantly shook it."Hello," Celeste introduced herself with a friendly smile. "Sasha was the one who first greeted me at the gates of your magnificent home. “Speaking of Sasha, where is she?" I inquired, concerned that she seemed to have vanished after alerting us about the visitor. Nigel could only shrug, just as unaware of Sasha's whereabouts."I have no idea. But let's go see Carrie," Nigel suggested, his eagerness matching ours. I agreed, my thoughts consumed by thoughts of Carrie's well-being. I glanced at Aaron, and we exchanged a nod before setting off

Isla's Perspective The haze of fear dissolved as Aaron's comforting voice broke through. Worry was evident in his eyes as he took my hand, offering support. "It's happening, Aaron," I managed to choke out, my voice barely above a whisper. Everything blurred around me as the contractions intensified, every fibre of my being radiating with pain. “Let me help assist with this birth. I have been learning to do midwifery quite recently.” I heard Celeste say, and I nodded in agreement. My mother's concerned voice urged us to find a safe place. Jameson stepped forward, offering his arm for support, while Celeste followed closely behind. “The birthing room is being prepared,” Aaron announced. He must have ordered some of our omegas to do so via mind link. He was thinking ahead despite everything else happening, and I loved him for that. But suddenly, a panic swept over me. "What about Sasha and everything else?" I began to fret. "No. Luna Isla, do not worry.

The door before me seemed impenetrable, like a fortress guarding the truth I was about to uncover. My heart raced as disbelief and sadness swirled within me. I took a deep breath, trying to gather my composure before facing the man who had once been my hero, guide, and father. I pushed open the heavy wooden door and stepped into the room. My father, Alpha Leon, sat behind an imposing desk, his posture exuding authority. He glanced up, a smile stretching across his face, but I saw the flicker of unease in his eyes. We were no longer just a pack of wolves; we were a force of nature, an unquenchable flame ignited by our collective resilience and unity. With every heartbeat, the anticipation surged through us, amplifying each flicker of power as we stood against him, determined to banish the darkness that had haunted the edges of our lives. “Enough!” he roared, charging at me, the darkness pooling around him in a furious torrent. I could feel the malevolence radiating off him like heat from a fire, trying to instil fear within our hearts. Yet, as he bore down on me, I could see the uncertainty behind that ferocity. He was no longer the predator; he was desperate. “Together!” I shouted again, urging my pack to rally. Carrie and Ryder poured their strength into the barrier of light that Rachel had conjured, reinforcing it as we prepared for his assault. As the black wolf lunged toward me, time seeme

Our shared bond pulsed like a heartbeat, commanding me to fight back.“You think you can break free?” the black wolf taunted, his voice echoing through the night like thunder. “This realm belongs to the darkness now!”Ignoring his bravado, I focused on the shared energy radiating from my packmates. Each heartbeat was a reminder of what we stood to lose. We were more than just a collection of wolves—we were a family woven together by our struggles, victories, and unbreakable bonds. “Together!” I shouted, pulling every ounce of strength from my soul and feeling the power surge to the surface. “We won’t give in!”

The day's events had spread like wildfire, and now everyone was on edge. I stood before them, clearing my throat to capture their attention.“I know today was a close call,” I began, my voice steady despite the adrenaline rush still coursing through me. “But we are stronger than we realise. Luke’s pov We returned to the pack, exhausted but determined. Our parents were already there, discussing the situation with the other pack members. "I think we should split our pack into smaller groups and patrol the surrounding areas," my father suggested. "We need to catch these rogues off guard and take them down before they can do any more harm." I nodded in agreement. "I think that's a good idea, father. But we also need to come up with a plan to protect Carrie. She's the key to this whole thing." Carrie looked up at me, her eyes still flashing with anger. "I don't need protection," she growled. "I can take care of myself." But I knew that wasn't true. The rogues were too strong, too cunning. She needed our help to stay safe. Even if she was powerful and able to beat anyone down. We still needed to protect her as she got used to her powers and understood them better. Ryder suddenly stepped forward. "I'll stay with her," he said. "We'll keep her safe, no matter wha

I wouldn't let anything happen to her, and as the future alpha, I had to stand my ground. “What do you want from this pack? Why don't you leave and never return? You're not welcome here.” I growled as the prominent rogue leader finally stood before us. He eyed me curiously before a cunning smirk formed on his face. “You came to the city. Your sister came after you. She was nice enough to leave her portal open so we could return here. What we want is behind you.” he answered gruffly. I glanced to my side and realised that he was referring to Carrie. He wanted Carrie. All this was about my sister. “We have been searching for her for many years now.
