It was in the evening at Seraphina’s apartment. She sits at her kitchen table, her eyes fixed on her phone. It’s been hours since

Damien promised to call her back, and the silence was becoming unbearable. She glances at the clock, sighs, and puts her phone down. The doorbell rings moments later, breaking her thoughts.

Seraphina opens the door to find Damien standing there. He looks exhausted, his tie is loose, and his shirt is wrinkled. She could see the strain in his eyes.

“Damien,” she said softly, stepping aside to let him in.

“Hey, can I come in?” Damien replies, his voice weary as he walks into the living room.

They sit down on the couch, and Seraphina studies his face, noticing the lines of stress and fatigue.

“Everything isn’t okay, I know,” she says, her voice full of concern. “I know about Alex sabotaging your company. You’ve been so distant lately.”
