Rian and Lucas

After plenty of struggling, Ava finally gave up trying to fight him. Lucas had clearly proven that he wasn’t going to leave until she at least allowed both of them to talk. She then decided to let him say what he had to say so he could be on his way when he was done. 

He allowed her a few minutes to put on her clothes, before she returned to sit on her rocking chair in front of him, waiting for whatever it was he had to say. Seeing that he had her attention, he took a deep breath before he began. 

“I would have come.” 

She didn’t understand what he meant by that. He saw her expression and decided to break things down for her. 

“I know with the way things happened, it might seem that it’s only because I didn’t want you to get married that I came here, but that’s far from the truth. It might seem otherwise, but I still would have come
