Kiron just informed Nani of Ava’s summoning. This could only mean one thing; Lucas ready to decide what to do with his mate now. Nani should be elated, but she’s also worried. What if he doesn’t accept her back? What will become of Ava and her unborn child? Nani had arrived at the alpha’s chambers a few minutes ago, and she remained pacing in front of the doors, as she knew Ava was in there now, she waited for her to come out.
Nani hadn’t been there for long until the door opened, and a crying Ava came out. From what she was seeing, she knew that things didn’t go well in there.
“What?” Nani asked desperately. “What happened?? What did he say?”
Ava didn’t respond; only buried her face into Nani’s chest, weeping profusely. Nani could not make her talk at that moment, she could pat her head and hair, comforting her.
“Stop crying dear… it’s okay.
“Hello, Nani. I didn’t think you were serious when you informed me you would be coming here again. Is anything the matter?” Madeline asked her as she welcomed her into her living room.“Thanks be to the goddess Madeline, and I am most grateful for your help. Sabrina the witch is no more.”Madeline nodded in affirmation. “It’s just like I’d seen it. I am happy for your alpha that the plans of the evil one in his life were not successful.”“I am happy about that too Madeline, but then there’s still a reason I came here. All is far from well at all.”Squeezing her brow, “what is it?” Madeline asked.“After the battle ended and Sabrina was killed, everyone expected that the mate bond between Lucas De’ Clan and his mate would be restored, but that
“I didn’t mean to send her away. I wished so much to have her back… I didn’t want her to ever leave me again.”It’s been a long time that Lucas has ever been so straight with her… oh dear… Nani couldn’t help her mixed feelings of joy and pity. She didn’t even know what to respond to him.Lucas continued, “when she told me she was pregnant, I wanted to… to grab her and hold her tight. I wanted to damn the consequences of the judgment I made regarding her banishment…. But then I remembered something… same thing that has haunted me for the past eleven years.”Nani found the words then, “Lucas… you can’t do that to yourself. You can’t push all the love away to protect yourself from getting hurt…. You just can’t do that.”He rose his voice, “it&rsquo
***THREE MONTHS LATER***After much time had passed, Vulcan Darin was now more than certain that the witch had absconded, the dawn pack alpha is still alive and sits mighty on the throne, and he has not heard from Sabrina, neither is she anywhere to be found. The news of what had really transpired came to the rogue king that day after Konark had finally gotten word from the spies sent to discover what had happened.Upon entering his presence, the guard greeted, “good day sire. I bring you the news you’d been expecting.”“Do not waste my time,” Vulcan stated impatiently. “Tell me what happened.”“Now we know why Sabrina could no longer be found nor heard from. She is dead sire. Killed.”The news came as a shock, as the rogue leader yelled, “what???”&nb
Life had been much kinder to Ava in this new home of hers. It didn’t feel as if anyone noticed her mistakes here, and apart from the mysterious gifts from only the goddess knows who, alpha Daryl appointed her a personal guard along with Keisha to be her servant. She was relieved of all her pack assignments and given special treatment. Ava doesn’t know why all these things are happening, but she feels that this mysterious admirer of her might have influenced things in some way.It also came quite strange how alpha Daryl took a sudden liking to her, probably after knowing who she was, probably because he held Lucas and Cian in such high regard, or probably because he felt so much pity for her, she’ll never know, but then being here didn’t turn out to be so bad after all.Apart from all these luxuries, she knew they meant nothing without being in the arms of the one she truly wanted. It’s been so many l
“Good evening, sire,” Kain greeted as he entered the alpha’s chambers.Lucas acknowledged him, dropping the pen in his hand as he got up to meet with his guard, “Good evening, Kain. So, how did it go today?”Kain bowed, “the guard delivered the package successfully. Ava’s maid would have given her by now.”“Did he tell you how she was doing? What about the baby?” He inquired.“They are both doing well, sire. Very much fine indeed.”He then heaved a sigh, “thank you Kain, and do give the delivery guy a tip for me, I’ll be sending more packages soon.”“Yes, I will… sire… there were some certain things her guard also told me…”There was a hint of desperation in his
***TWO WEEKS LATER*** Ava is much of a slow reader, as she loves to take her time to delve deep into the stories, page by page, and if it weren’t for the ample free time she had, goddess knows she would have taken much longer to complete the set of books Rian sent her. Ever since the night he kissed her, she’d been avoiding him stylishly. He might have noticed, or he might have not, but either way, that didn’t stop him from trying to reach her as much as he could, no matter how much she stylishly pushed him away. No matter what little time she gave him, it never seemed to be enough. Her thoughts about Rian suddenly capsized when she discovered something as the turned over the last page on the final book, her heart fled when she saw the words, and it wasn’t just the handwriting that made her know who it was, but the words itself. Hope you enjoyed the stories, I’ll be back for you one day, Preci
Ava couldn’t have experienced a more repulsing feeling as the one she had when Rian grabbed her by the mouth again, like the other night, he’d let his emotions take over and kissed her without her consent, without her expecting it. Of course, the man she loved never needed consent before he did things that drove her wild, still she couldn’t but admit that this feeling with Rian was nothing like that.Right now, the way she felt reminded her of what she truly wanted, needed. The only one touch she burned for, the one touch she desired more than anything, and no matter how much that man hurt her, it never seemed to squander any emotions she felt for him. Oh, please… stop thinking about these things, Ava. She scolded herself as she pulled away from Rian’s mouth.“I’m sorry…” he gasped.“No, it’s fine. it shouldn’t make any difference since we’ll soon be mated anyway.”&
Leana, the Daivie seamstress took her time to make Ava the most beautiful dress that would fit her tummy. After she was done, Ava went to her quarters to try it on, and saw that the woman knew her work well.“Thank you, Leana. This is really good!” She exclaimed at the sight of herself in the mirror. That white dress lined with beautiful pearls fit her body perfectly and didn’t even make it seem like she was pregnant.“Thank you, madame.” Leana bowed. “I will send Keisha the rest of the ornaments for your big day tomorrow.”After the dress fitting, Ava went down to see to the preparations that were being made. The hall decorations had already been gathered, and servants had gotten to work. Some supplies were delivered this morning for the event food, and things were running smoothly. More fast than smooth, because Rian was rushing everything, he grew impatient t
