"Hey guys," my voice croaked out, thick with exhaustion and emotional trauma. Lexy and Amelia always used my kitchen because it was the only one that worked the best. I had a microwave, a stove and a fridge where they packed some of their groceries.
But I was more than happy to let them use my appliances because I know how hard they're both working.
They looked dead. Their eyes were tired and red while I on the other hand, looked fine. That's not to say that I didn't cry, but I woke up and took a shower. They didn't.
I felt terrible on the inside though.
Lexy leaned against the fridge as she shakily brought her mug of tea up to her lips. Lexy was a tea girl, she didn't drink the normal tea that we drank or even green tea. It was some kind of weed tea or something like that.
I drank it once, on accident, and was high for what felt like days.
"How are you all feeling?" I as
Amelia had left in the morning when an old and rusted red pick-up truck stopped outside the yard. She gave her goodbyes and left, leaving Lexy and I alone. Lexy went on to get ready for work and I fetched my guitar case and Romeo. I dropped Lexy off at the gas station and promised to pick her up after I was done performing. My day was finally over and the few hours I spent at street corners really distracted me from my issues."Would you like some biltong (A/N: I believe Americans call it beef jerky or jerky), Romeo?" I asked my companion as he jumped out of the car and my car let out a screech of relief. I almost laughed but I was used to it now, "speaking of biltong (A/N: I'm just going to keep using my own terminology because it's easier for me, I'm sorry), I'm low on meat. Someone must be eating it. I'm sure it's Lexy, though," a lot of my food stuff was disappearing and I'm not too sure who was e
~~Dream~~I was rocking side to side and I could feel the warm leather bench underneath my butt. I could feel the hard surface under my back as I leaned against the bench.
"Well, he couldn't have just disappeared like that, Pandora," Lexy said in an exasperated and tired voice since I've kept her awake since the early morning. When I woke up, Romeo was gone and I ran around like a mad woman, screaming for Lexy to wake up because my beloved was gone.I felt empty.
I was really sad but life had to move on unfortunately. I had bills to pay and food to eat so I needed to continue performing. I couldn't sit around and cry all day even though that's really all that I wanted to do. I forced myself out of the house and made my way to the café that Amelia works at.
I was pretty freaked out by my encounter with that stranger from the gas station. It was obvious that he had to have been following me because what are the chances that we would meet again? And what are the chances that he knew my name and last name? It was just really creepy.S
Lexy and I were still fast asleep when we were both wakened up by banging on our door and our door sounded like it was about to fall off from its hinges. Lexy was the one who first sprang into action while I quickly slipped on a dirty T shirt that I found on the floor.I rushed
We were all standing still, looking at each other as though we were deer caught in headlights. My heart was banging against my chest but I felt the familiar tingles that I felt whenever My Saviour was nearby.
As though he hadn't said the strangest most mind blowing thing ever, he strolled into the basement, pulling me along behind him as I stuttered out an answer, "R-R-Romeo? Did you just say Romeo?"He didn't answer me, instead he stood towering over each of us in the room and the t
"Give me one more second please," I exclaimed from the safety of the bathroom as I looked at myself in the rusted and dirty mirror. I smiled as I applied the cheap red lipstick to my lips, rubbing my lips against each other to evenly spread the colour.
The old beat up wooden door swung open as Romeo and I entered the motel room. I walked over to the bed and sat down on it before I let out a satisfied groan and laid my back on it. Even though the springs of the bed were broken and it was uncomfortable, I was just glad to be lying down in a bed.
We were nearing another town and it had felt like we had been alone for decades. It felt good to finally see signs on the road indicating that we were nearby and we could find both gas and food, and I could shower and change. Well, maybe I wouldn't have the privilege of a shower but I can bath out of the sink of a bathroom like I've done so before.
Wade and I were back on the road and the sound of music playing on the radio was filling the silence in the car. I was enjoying not talking, simply, being, I guess you could say. Wade had turned the radio station to a southern one and we had to listen to country music.I'm not a
I opened my eyes again and when I looked around, I found us driving through a small vacant town- the kind of town where the homes were abandoned, withered and old. It looked haunted to be quite honest.I partly wondered how long I had been asleep because it seemed like we had dr
We were back in the car and Wade was casually driving the car. His eyes briefly on the road before his bright yellow orbs collided with my mediocre brown ones and he raised an eyebrow, "what?" he asked me with a smirk on his face even though he knew exactly what I was waiting for.
"Love, wake up so I can buy you food," a love language people, this right here is what I call true love. And with those magic words, my eyes opened and there was a drunken smile on my face as I looked at Wade."Yay, food," I croaked out in a thick hoarse from my sleep as I lifted my head to see
The road felt like home, as strange as that may seem to say. No matter where I settled down, no matter how many people and how much of an impact they had on my life- nothing could compare to what the road made me feel.So many memories come from the road. Those excited moments o
It was clear that he wasn't going to budge and to be honest, I did believe him. I believed every word that he said and so did Amelia. Lexy on the other hand, was still on the fence but none of us wanted to take any chances. It was scary to put all of my faith in this stranger wh
