"Yes! I did! And I'm gonna do it again if you don't take your shitty self elsewhere! You disgust me, to say the least!" I let out, getting up and pushing her out of the way.

"Thorn is the only reason I didn't beat the living daylight out of you!" She fumed, arranging her hair that was in disarray.

"Go on now, fix your hair... And your mouth... And your bad attitude! Because if you don't I would fix it for you!" I let out, standing by my door which was wide open.

"Get the hell out!" I shouted, looking sternly at her, my heart racing. "I was on my way out. Save your poor self the energy." She insulted, walking out the door.

"Good!" I let out, slamming the door behind her; I ran my fingers through my hair as I paced about in my office, trying to calm myself down.

What if she told Thorn about the incident? What if this would make me get in their bad books? So many thoughts raced through my head and I felt like my head would explode.

I sat in my chair, deep in thought, and immediately I re

I was in utter shock, I soliloquized, refusing to believe that Freda was gone. As I rode on to the hospital, my hands were shaking as I held on to the steering; tears poured down my now red face; my make-up was messed up.I didn't care. All I wanted in that moment was to hear her sweet frail voice again, the warmth I felt whenever I got home. She made home, home to me. Her kind and sincere words of love and advice! I didn't want to accept the fact that I was never getting all of that again. She had always joked around with me, "You might fume, you might freak, you might get mad when I offer my advice, but you'll sure miss me when I'm gone!" She had joked most of the time. And boy was I missing her! She was one of the few persons who would tell me the truth to my face, not minding what I chose to make out of it.She just always believed that one was safer with the truth, no matter how bitter it was. Sitting in the reception hall. I couldn't put myself together.I was weeping profusely,

"Can you think of any persons whom you think might in some way be responsible?" He asked, looking calmly at me, this time, trying to suggest he wasn't seeing me as a culprit."I can't. I'm already racking my brain. I can't think of anyone." I said, "I'll let you know when I do." I added, pain welling up inside me.Chills ran down my spine at the thought of an enemy who was currently on the loose; if they could get Freda, then I only wondered how close they were to me."She was poisoned; our tests show the poison with which she was killed; it was one of the venomous poison types on the planet." He said, interrupting my thoughts."People only make use of such poisons when they are dealing with someone they hate with a special kind of passion.""Did she leave any last words? Clues? Anything at all?" He asked, trying to give me clues, hoping they might help with remembering something."Clues? None that I can remember, but I'll get across to you if I do." I said, feigning sincerity. I had

"This has to be between the both of us." I let out, "Sure, you can bank on me." She assured me, "I need to do something, and I need to do it quickly.""What exactly are you talking about?" She asked, her eyes widening. "I need to find Mia." I blurted, a stern look pasted on my face."That's a herculean task, you know." She said, "Exactly why I need your help. You're in the medical field and you would most likely know how I'm supposed to go about this." I said, trying to avoid being explicit.""What I would suggest is, you go undercover, plot a better plan. One that wouldn't involve risking one's job. I hope you understand what I mean." She advised."I don't understand, is that how much of a risk it is to you?" I asked, scratching my chin in displeasure, but I didn't have a choice."I could lose my license. If I help you kill or sedate someone." She stated. "And who says I was asking you to kill or sedate anyone?!" I defended, looking squarely at her."I could already understand. But w

"I need us to talk business. Can I even trust you with such intricate information?" I asked, my gaze fixed squarely on him."I got nothing to lose, so I'm down." He said. "And you think that's enough reason?" I asked, "The fact that you have nothing to lose is the more reason why I should question your credibility." I said."What type of experience do you have, working as a bouncer?" I asked, looking sternly at him. "I've quite several experiences, some of which you wouldn't want to have the details of." He said."What details? And why did you have to point them out?" I asked, "Okay, would you just assume you're safe whilst talking to a murderer, someone you know is a murderer?" He asked, a goofy look pasted on his face."Oh, now I get what you were trying to say." I let out, "So when do I start? What kind of job is that? And what is your pricing?" He asked, "You just tell me, and I'll let you know if that works or not." I added that we talked for the following minutes. He seemed very

"You should have stayed a while, I have a friend coming over, you both can work together too." He said. "That's okay, but I'll pass," I said, storming out of the club, my feet smashing hard against the stick of cigarette I had in my hand. I looked left, and right, trying to decide where next to go. I headed home now, forgetting Freda wouldn't be home anymore. "Open up' I was about to say before I remembered. It was sad, yet hilarious. "Hello, Gianna" I headed on, my phone in my hand. "Hello. I answered, from the other end of the phone. The voice sounded very familiar, but I was in too much of a doubt to believe. "I'll work with you. I'll do as you said." Jora said on the phone, her voice shaking. "Oh! Thanks!" I exclaimed, excited. "Yeah, I thought long about everything and I figured it'd be my uttermost honor to work with you

"What brings you to my office?" He asked, I noticed his shirt looked like it was hurriedly arranged, and she looked like she was drawn down from a mountain, just when she was close to its peak."I would love to speak with you and your brother." I let out, impressed at myself at how easily I was able to cook up something."Hmmm... That's huge, I hope no problems?" He asked, his eyebrows raised, as he adjusted his shirt better. "Not at all. Just a family business. I'll want to be speaking with the both of you, alone." I said, with emphasis on the word 'alone', throwing disgusting glances at her."Alright. Honey, would you please excuse us for the moment?" He said to her, I watched satisfyingly as she pushed herself out of the office. She didn't want to go, but she had no choice."The floor is yours now, so please go on. I'll send a staff to get my brother, right away." He said, "Okay, even better. I'll be waiting." "The only thing I can think of is the fact that she was in pain, she was suffering from a terminal disease like I told you," I explained, looking queerly at him. "That's just a lead, we need to get to the root of the matter." He added, looking intently at me."I spoke with her bosses, those she worked for, and they said she was very fine the day before," I said, I could see through to the fact that he wasn't satisfied. "I know that Freda was ill, but I don't know of any complaint from work. She enjoyed her work as much as I knew.Days had now passed and I hadn't seen Thane at the office. His father, Nox now had two offices, his and theirs. I wanted to ask what the problem was but I didn't even know where to start from or how it'll come off to him, so I let it slide.I received a call from a strange number. I was glad and sure it might be Thane, "Hello, Gianna dear, how are you doing?" The voice asked. "I-I am okay, who's on the phone please?" "This is Gloria, I know you don't know me

"I don't know what happened to her. You have no right whatsoever to hold me hostage, I'm as innocent as the word innocent. Let me go!" She let out.She looked modest, no one would imagine she could have such a wicked heart. She was also soft-spoken, so it was very hard to tell she was a goofy lady, who enjoyed seeing others in pain.As we conversed, speaking about some painful scenarios, including the pain Freda might have undergone, seeing what the autopsy was showing, she seemed to enjoy talking about the pain of others, and that was a very bad sign, a huge indicator that something was wrong somewhere."Of course, we'll let you go after you've answered all needed questions." The officer insisted. "I committed no crime." She said, "What happened to your friend? That's all we want to know." He asked. "She was suicidal." She let out, in an unreal manner."Suicidal? Is that all you knew about your friend?" He asked we'll be taking you to the station now for further questioning." The off

The calls of the sirens were getting closer, and he knew it was time to leave. He stuffed the note into his pocket and in a mad dash out of there, diving into the car. He couldn't even run to the police; they'd just use him as a convenient way of having amazing news again. His supposed father told him loudly and often that he was alone. His only option was to pray and rely on his yogi training. I was in danger of being harmed by the armed men, and he felt I might be killed trying to right this situation. Right the wrongs, at any price. His car growled as he stomped on it, whipping through the narrow lanes of the city. It was his night, and he would seize the opportunity. I and Rita had a lot of unfinished business. It was high time I pushed for vengeance to be gotten as soon as possible. I and Rita made sure to rest well, seeing how busy the next day would be.As I watched as our car left the driveway, I felt empty inside, like in an empty house with noise. We had to leave as well, but where the hell were we going to go? With the pandemonium he had escaped down there, it was no place for him to be going back onto the streets. While the reality of the situation was still dawning on him, his cousin was gone, and his friends were no longer to be trusted, possibly not even the father. His legs wobbled beneath him as he stood from the chair. Finally, we stopped driving and approached the house. The house was suffocating us, the walls closing in upon themselves as we felt more buried under guilt with each passing second. We sighed and headed to the garage. We had to get our heads cleared, and there was only one way: drive like a bat out of hell. And abou

"One last time!" The midwife instructed, "You're so close! You're so close, the baby's head is already 10cm gone!" The midwife continued to shout at me, urging me to push with all the might I could muster. Various midwives had already advised against the delivery of this particular child but I was determined not to lose an innocent life. “Argh!!!!” I tried my best to grab something to transfer this pain to but everything seemed flat and out of my grasp. Finally, the cry of a beautiful baby girl was heard crying loudly in the room. All the midwives looked up at the sky. It seemed brighter now; they looked pitifully at the beautiful baby girl; her fate was already sealed; she looked so sick, I heard one of them say.“Sorry, can we talk?” One of the midwives called out to the matron that had delivered my baby. The matron lifted her head and answered her call. “Don’t tell me you intend on keeping that child, don't make her suffer. I jerked up at this point. It was a bad dream! I p
