“Do you understand, Ms. Kwon?”
Mr. Han, the disciplinary officer in the company, asked Janine.
Janine nodded, half-heartedly. She still doesn’t get why she has to write a real Letter of Apology when in fact, she’s the victim here. How could someone, let alone a supervisor, aim to do that? She’s not his secretary for crying out loud.
Mr. Han sighed as he kept the Letter of Apology that Janine made. The first one made L mad so, he reported it to the disciplinary council – to Janine’s displeasure, of course.
“Okay,” he told her. “You may go now.” Then he continued to examine some papers.
Janine sighed and bowed before him before leaving his office.
As she came out of the door, she already saw Porter smirking on her. She immediately felt the urge to kick him in the balls. He’s so despicable! How could he be this evil?
“Went well?” Porter asked her. His voi
“Janine Kwon, get me a copy of the agenda for the meeting later.”“Janine Kwon, please get these papers photocopied.”“Janine Kwon, please call Ms. Kim for the minutes of the meeting last Thursday.”“Janine Kw—”Janine shut her eyes in frustration as Porter Kim continued to order her around. When will he even understand that she is not his slave or something? Doesn’t he have a secretary for a reason? She muttered another string of curses under her breath as she stood up from her desk and followed his orders. What can she do? If she didn’t, then, this devil would report her to the disciplinary council and would write another letter of apology again. And she knows that when one writes up an apology letter up to three times, it would mean a 3-day suspension. She sighed to herself while walking to Ms. Kim’s office. Since when has she felt like this? Since when has she felt a
“How was work?” Kellan asked Porter as all seven of them huddled in their living room while watching the Asian Games.Porter shrugged. “Same old stuffs. Boring.” He replied nonchalantly while his eyes are still on the television. To be honest, his work as a supervisor is routinely. He would check on the stocks of the previous deals and make a report about it. After that, he’ll just have to ask his secretary about his agenda for the day and then poof! He’s done. This kind of work never really kept Porter interested.Hunter snickered. “Well, we don’t really know what interests you, Porter.” He told him. “You don’t like girls. You don’t like work. You don’t like anything at all.” He finished making the other members laugh at him.Porter glared at Hunter and sighed to himself as he continued to watch on the screen.Well, Hunter’s words are true. Porter doesn&rsquo
Porter was trying to get back to his old self – his despicable-to-Janine self – after being able to be that close to her. He was trying to shake the feeling off because he shouldn’t feel it. He shouldn’t be moved by mere closeness. Heck, he shouldn’t be wavered. He told her that he would wait for her outside because he just couldn’t bring himself to get back to proper breathing, proper heart beating and proper complexion. How could Janine Kwon, the girl that he pisses off every day, be the reason for this feeling?“No, Porter.” He muttered to himself. “It’s just because you haven’t been that close to a girl for long that your heart skipped a beat like that.” He shut his eyes and tried to convince himself.Porter is not the type to party unlike his friends. Well, one, he is not interested and two, he doesn’t like loud places.Porter’s a downright dork and he knows th
“What are you doing today, baby love?”Johann was all smiles at Janine as they skyped this early Saturday. They had not talked the night before because Janine got home late due to the shortage of cabs last night. Her shopping with Porter ended at 8PM and she waited until 10PM for a cab because, apparently, there were a lot of people waiting for a cab. For a second, she regretted not asking Porter to drive her home. But on second thought, why would she? More time with L would mean more time to get pissed. Hence, more time to get herself into bad mood.So she waited until 10PM and missed Skype with Johann.Janine chewed on the brownie that her roommate, Henney, baked before leaving for her own Team Building with her department.“Nothing much,” she replied while munching the brownies down. “Maybe I’ll just sleep it off all day to catch up on my sleep-deprived nights.” She grinned.Johann frowned at her.
“Is everyone here yet?” Porter asked Jonas as the other employees under his department boarded on the bus.Porter’s department would be undergoing their very own Team Building for the weekend. Everyone is so psyched about this – even those girls who were grunting in disapproval when Porter announced the theme of the team building.“Not yet, Sir.” Jonas replied.Porter sighed and clucked his tongue. It was already almost 7AM and they all agreed to meet before 7. “Who else is not here yet?” He asked as he tried to calm himself.Of all the things and traits that Porter disliked, he dislikes tardiness the most.“Manager Kwon isn’t here yet.” Jonas replied as he looked at the employees slowly getting into the bus. He was checking each employee’s presence. “She’s the only one.” He concluded as every employee had boarded the bus.Porter felt his blood rising w
The group was divided into two teams for the games and the tasks. One team is in charge for the cooking and the other group is for looking of food and the logs to be used for fire.Apparently, Janine was feeling really irked off that she had to be in the same team as this arrogant supervisor. She isn’t that choosy to what group she had to be in but this one. She didn’t want to be anywhere near Porter Kim and she knows that everyone in the group knows that too!Yasmin walked to her to ask if she’s alright – probably because Yasmin is not in the same group as her – to be in the same group with her ‘Most Hated Person’.“I’m just going to endure for this weekend.” Janine beamed and Yasmin nodded. To be honest, no matter how much Janine repels, she couldn’t do anything. The grouping was random. It was a fishbowl technique and everyone was a witness of how the draw-lots was done.Yasmin patted Ja
Porter was busy staring at Janine’s face while waiting for someone to find them and get them back to the camp. To be honest, Porter could just carry Janine back to the camp and lay her to a more comfortable place but he just couldn’t risk it. This is a forest and who knows what creatures are roaming around them now.Janine’s already sick. He didn’t want to put her to a more risk.Porter sighed to himself as he unconsciously strokes the back of his hand on Janine’s face. “Porter Kim,” he chuckled weakly to himself. “You are one funny guy. You can’t just like a person as fast as that.” He spoke weakly and softly. He was taken aback when Janine stirred in her sleep. She was mumbling some words, or rather calling some names, but Porter couldn’t decipher. Was it the name of her lover? He didn’t know. And to be honest, he didn’t want to care. But there is this growing feeling insi
“Should we wake them up?”Yasmin asked Jonas as they watched Janine and L sleeping. Janine’s head is leaning on Porter’s shoulder and Porter’s head is leaning on Janine’s.Yasmin brought her phone out and took a picture of the innocent sleeping people. She smiled widely when she finished capturing this heavenly moment.Porter flitted his eyes open and saw Yasmin and Jonas in front of him, smiling really widely. His eyes widened when he realized the growing weight on his shoulder. He looked at it and he shut his eyes and frowned. Why did his employees have to see this?“Hey, Janine Kwon, wake up.” He shook her a bit. He looked at Yasmin. “She’s sick last night.” He told her. “Do we have some food in the camp?” He asked trying to cover up the awkwardness at their position.Porter is still worried that Janine would still have the hangover of her fever today.
Porter fixed his tie as he waited outside the church. It’s his wedding day. It’s the day he’s been waiting for all of his life, the day when he marries and starts his forever with the woman he loves.“Agit.” Serge muttered beside him.Porter glared at him. “You don’t know the feeling, fucker.” He snapped at him.Serge laughed at his best friend. “You’re so nervous that Janine won’t come to your wedding!” He beamed and laughed together with their friends.“Serge is right, Porter. You’re so anxious. Loosen up!” Hunter beamed.Porter rolled his eyes at his friends. “Whatever, assholes.” He muttered and looked at his watch.Kellan walked beside him. “Is this alright?” He asked.Porter looked at him. “What do you mean?” He asked.Kellan shrugged. “You, getting married without a family attending. Are you
Porter cupped her cheeks as he deepened his kiss. Janine couldn’t ask for more. All she needs is L right now. All she needs is to be by his side and everything will fall into place.“Our room is finished, Baby.” He spoke. “Can I take you there?” He asked carefully.Janine looked into his eyes and nodded.Porter smiled and took her hand into his, leading her upstairs to their room. Sure, he just wanted to show her every corner of the house but she’s making it hard for him. They stopped in front of a brown door. Porter smiled at her and turned the knob. “This is going to be our room, Baby.” He spoke as he unveiled the huge room with a king-size bed. The window was huge just like of those castles and palaces in the movies. It is designed. Even without questions, Janine would know that the room is designed. She entered the room and savored the depths of it. “This…” she couldn’t ev
Porter smiled as he finished the song and walked straight to Janine who’s still in awe of everything that’s happening. It’s complete. He’s finally complete.“Come again?” He asked as he held her arms, in disbelief of what she just said. He, too, is in awe of everything.Janine looked into his eyes and smiled sweetly. “Yes, Porter. I’m going to marry you.” She repeated.Porter smiled and pulled her in for a kiss. He didn’t want to kiss her in front of her parents but his urges are killing him. He wants her lips. He wants to own her. If possible, he wants to take her. If only he could do that now.“I love you, you know that, right?” He asked her as he connected their foreheads. “I’m going to tell you how much I love from this day forward.”Janine smiled and hugged him tight. Everything was worth it. All the pain, all the sacrifices, everything. Porter is
Porter held Janine’s hand as they walked to the celebration.Janine looked at Porter and smiled, still in awe that her parents are actually all for their relationship. She didn’t expect someone to like this relationship. She didn’t expect anyone to accept them but deep inside, she was wishing. She didn’t want to leave her family if they won’t approve them. But she knows she would if they don’t.“Are you happy?” Porter whispered as they stopped at the balcony of the houseJanine leaned on the railings, facing the garden while Porter enclosed his arms around her, leaning his chin on her shoulder. She smiled and nodded. “More than happy.” She said in a very soft voice.Porter smiled weakly. “Me, too. I am happy.” He whispered back. “I’m happier that your parents approved.” He added as he kissed her shoulder.Janine placed her arms on top of Porter’s arms en
“We’ll be okay.” Porter assured Janine as they boarded the plane to Busan. It was just yesterday when her mother called and, now, they’re going to meet her parents. She’s nervous for Porter. She saw how his parents disapproved of their relationship. Although she understood their point, she’s still sad about it. Well, how can you accept the fact that you’re not accepted by the important persons in the person you love’s life? It’s hard. But Porter is trying to convince her that it’s all going to be alright in the end. Just the two of them. They only need each other in this life.“How can you be so sure?” She asked as she sat on the seat beside the window.Porter smiled at her as he took the seat beside her. “Because I know that I will marry you no matter what they say. No one can stop me from having my forever with you.” He spoke as he fastened her seatbelt.Janine po
Porter and Janine stared at each other. Janine felt like her whole world is going down the drain the moment she heard what Serge said. It’s the end. It’s going to end now. That was all she could think of. Although she knows that Porter isn’t going to raise the white flag, she’s still so scared that she’d lose him now. Hell, she couldn’t lose him now or she’s going to die.Porter laced his fingers with hers and stood up. “Come on. Let’s face them.” He told her calmly. There was no trace of anxiety in his voice.Janine stared at him. “Porter, what if they disapprove our relationship?” It was not a new question and L has answered and assured her a thousand times that she’ll always be his choice. There’s no one else.Porter sighed and faced her, cupping her cheeks. “Listen, Janine. I’m not going to repeat this ever again.” He began. “I know you&r
Janine and Porter walked to the dining room after preparing. Well, Porter doesn’t really mind but Janine’s really nervous. What if his friends won’t approve them? Is this going to be another obstacle?Janine held onto Porter’s hand tightly as they approached his friends.Porter looked at her, worried. “Don’t worry. My friends won’t eat you.” He whispered, trying to reassure her.Janine nodded but still feels uneasy. She doesn’t know what to think about their relationship if even his friends won’t approve their relationship.“Come on.” Porter led her to the dining table where the six men were waiting for them.Janine looked at all of them and saw Serge smiling widely at her. “Uhm…” She wanted to greet but she doesn’t know how they’d want her to greet them.“Take your seat, Janine.” Serge pointed at the chair beside Porter’s
“What would your parents think of me? Of us?” Janine asked Porter as they were watching movies on the living room of his condominium unit. She loves Porter so much and she knows that it would be hard for them to be approved by their parents. Her parents know that she’s with Johann. And Johann is Porter’s cousin. What would they think of her? She’s worried of everything others would think of her, of Porter.Porter looked at her with a raised brow. “They don’t matter at all, Janine. I don’t like them meddling with my personal life anyway.” He replied as he planted a kiss on her ear. “If they won’t approve us, then we won’t insist. I can fund you and our children just fine.” He smiled as he wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer to him.Janine gulped at how advanced Porter is already thinking. He’s already thinking of building a family with her. That’s one thing. He&rs
Janine’s heart was racing up until Porter had finally driven them away from the location. She doesn’t even have an idea on how she escaped the occasion. It wasn’t really easy for her to finally make up her mind and choose one from them. Like everyone else, she didn’t want to hurt one when she knew they both loved her so much, only under different circumstances.Johann was the best thing that happened in her life. He was the person who made her see the light in love. He was the person who opened her heart to love. But Porter. He was the one who made her heart race faster and slower at the same time. He was the person who made her feel like she was always the priority – that he would give up everything just to be with her.If only there was something she could do to not hurt anyone, she would’ve done it. But is there really a way to not make a certain goodbye painful?“You’re still trembling.” Por
