A Stranger's Gaze

Ziven’s name flashed on his phone’s screen which froze Ezrene. Asael looked at her and after passing her a glance, he picked up his phone.

“Hello….”

“Come back home with Ezrene as soon as your classes end,” Asael heard Ziven saying to him in his reply whereas Ezrene just stared at him with an extremely worried and afraid look because she could not even hear what Ziven was saying to him on the other side of the call.

“Okay,” saying that Asael disconnected the call and then looked towards her.

“What happened?” she asked him as soon as he put his phone back inside his pocket.

Asael looked at her and then gave her a stern look before finally answering her.

“He wants us to be home as soon as our classes end,” he told her and this worried Ezrene even more.

“Why? Did he get to know about any of this?” she asked him, still terrified. He sighed.

“I don’t know. He just told me to come back home with you as soon as possible. That’s it,” He uttered to her and this did nothing to calm her down.
