I sighed. “I wish I am water. So Josh will just dive into me.” Kylie spitted out the juice that she was drinking because of what I said. Good thing that she didn’t get me wet. What was her problem? She was wasting her drink.
“What the fuck Anna Belle?!” She shouted in horror. I just look at her with innocent eyes.
“What now? What did I do?” I said, frowning. I leaned down to look at the pool where my crush was swimming with only his trunks and goggles. His abs were so visible in my eyes. Shit! He looked so smoking hot! Should I just join the varsity team? I just noticed that almost all varsity players were so hot.
“What are we really doing here, Anna Belle?” She said with irritation on her face. I hated it when she called me by my name. I felt like I was that doll on that horror movie Annabelle. Creepy!
I glared at her. “Can you stop calling me that? It’s creeping me out. I told you to call me Belle!”
“I don’t want to. Your name is Anna Belle. I want to stick with that.” She smirked. It made me roll my eyes. “We’ve been here since forever. Let’s go.” She stood up and got her things already.
My eyes widened. I still haven’t talked to Josh! I’d been waiting for him. I wanted to introduce myself today. This was my only chance.
“Hey! Let’s just wait for a couple of minutes, please.” I gave her puppy eyes.
“Oh my God! Is your next conquest that varsity player? That swimmer?” She looked at me like I was out of my mind. I just grinned at her, and she knew the drill.
Josh was from the University of Cebu. I saw him one time when I went to their school because I ghosted one cute guy for him. I asked my female friend about the guy, and he was there because he was their varsity player. Josh Timothy Villaruz was his full name. He was a swimmer. It was my friend who tipped me that Josh would practice here today. That was why we were here.
“You’re unbelievable. I’m out.” She started walking towards the entrance of the complex center.
Shit! What was wrong with her? She was okay with me being like this before. What was the difference now? I just had a huge crush on this Josh guy. And I wanted him to be mine by crook or by hook.
“Kylie! Wait!” I walked faster because she got out already.
Ugh! Maybe next time, Josh! You will not get away next time.
Why did my best friend Kylie have to be like PMS-ing today? It ruined my plan. Damn it!
I was going out when someone bumped me, and I almost stumbled on the ground. Good thing that the person who bumped me held my shoulder and kept me steady in place.
“Are you okay?” His baritone voice brought shivers to my body.
I instantly looked up, and I saw two piercing ash gray cold eyes looking down at me. His brows were so thick that they complimented his long curvy lashes. And his nose! He got one hell of a sharp nose! My eyes trailed down to his lips. Shit! Why did it look so kissable? Goodness! He was good-looking compared to Josh! No! He was hotter than Josh! Ruthlessly hot! I’m shifting to this guy already.
“Hi! I’m Belle. You are?” I give him my sweetest smile that no one could ever resist.
“I think you’re fine,” he said while raising his brow and then pushed me away from him. He bent down, and I saw him pick his goggles that were on the floor. Was he a swimmer? I looked at his body and… Holy Shit! I think he was leaner than Josh. He was wearing a body fit black shirt and a short. I could see his muscles were in the right places. Those biceps! Holyshit! He was my crush now. I was dying to know his name!
My smile faded when he walked past me.
What the? Did he just ignore me like that? This couldn’t be happening!
“Hey!” I shouted at him, but he didn’t even look back. What the freaking hell was that?!
“Anna Belle Vasquez! For the love of God! Let’s go!” It was Kylie. So she came back for me. Damn! Remind me next time not to go here again with this KJ best friend of mine.
I was still looking at the guy who bumped me when Kylie dragged me out. I changed my mind. He was not my crush anymore. I would crush back Josh again.
“I hate you! I told you to call me Belle!” I slapped her arm that was holding me when we got out.
“Don’t piss me off, then,” she said while her brows furrowed. I rolled my eyes at her.
“Where are we going again?” She was so busy with her phone. Jeez!
“I need to go back to school. I need to borrow a book from the library. It’s still four pm. It’s still open.” She didn’t look at me and continued typing on her phone.
“Okay. You are so studious. That’s why you haven’t got any boyfriend at all.” She glared at me, and I just grinned at her.
“Whatever, Anna Belle.” I frowned at her. She was such a bully.
“You know pretty well that we’re gonna walk, right?” Tsk! She was so careless. There were a lot of snatchers here.
She looked at me and sighed and then put her phone in her bag. “Fine. Let’s go.”
We started walking on the road. Our school was really near Cebu City Sports Complex where we just came from, so we were just going to walk. There were a lot of people walking since it was already dismissal time from school. Students were flocking everywhere. And almost all the jeepneys were already full.
We stopped at the end of the pedestrian lane in front of DBP. The traffic light said it was green, so we needed to wait for it to turn red to pass the highway. When the light turned red, and the human signal on the traffic light started to light green while walking, we crossed the lane quickly.
“So. What’s with you and that swimmer?” Kylie asked from nowhere. I raised my brow at her.
“He’s my new crush.” I grinned at her, and she just looked at me seriously while we were still walking.
“You know that you, crushing on someone, will only last for a week,” she said, raising her brow. I laughed at her. She really knew me. “I bet you only want a taste,” she said with a smug. I laughed again.
“I think I’m gonna be serious with this one,” I said, biting my lower lip. She just rolled her eyes at me.
“I’ve been hearing that for two years and counting.” I burst out laughing. Damn! Kylie. She really knew me too well.
That was why she said two years because she just transferred to our school two years ago. We were already in our third year in college and took up a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. We clicked right away because she was not plastic like those bitches who hate me and my guts. Tsk!
“This is different,” I insist. We were already in front of Jollibee, but since it was a signal and the cars and jeepneys were already moving, we needed to stop again.
“Different your ass. You said that to me a week ago when you met that cutie in UC. Like duh! What happened now? You ghosted him,” she said while shaking her head.
“Jeez! Fine. That’s what the game is all about, Kylie. Collect and collect, right? Until you select the right one for you,” I reasoned out.
“I don’t know what to do with you. Faster. The cars stopped already.” She grabbed my hand so we could cross the road and walked towards our school.
“Where’s your ID?” she asked while her brows furrowed when we arrived at our school’s entrance.
I looked at the ID sling that I was wearing and noticed that my ID was not there anymore. My eyes widened.
Shit! How am I going to get inside?
“Kyl, I’m doomed. I think I just lost my ID.” She looked at me bewildered.
“You what?!” She looked at me with wide eyes. I raised my ID sling in front of her. “You fucking lost your ID?” I bit my lower lip and nodded.
Where did I lose it? Maybe in the Cebu City Sports Complex pool? I didn’t even notice that it was gone! Stupid me.
“I can’t get in. You go in before the library closes. I’ll look at my bag. Maybe it’s just here.”
“You know what? I admit you are beautiful. But also stupid.” I rolled my eyes at her. She was the best best friend ever. Especially the way she insults me. Nice. “You sure you’re okay here?” I knew she was concerned about me. She may be a bitch but she loves me.
“Yep! Just go! It’s almost five. The jeepney going to Basak was almost full. We might get home late.”
“Fine. I’ll be quick. Text me if something happens. Ciao!” she said and then hurriedly got in.
I went to the side and rummaged through my bag. Shit! It was not really here. Maybe it fell in the pool side a while ago. Damn it!
I was startled when my phone vibrated. I fetched it and there was a text from an unknown number.
From: Unknown Number
You drop your ID. Just tell me if you want to get it. I’m here in the Jollibee beside Sto. Rosario Parish.
From: Unknown NumberYou drop your ID. Just tell me if you want to get it. I’m here inside Jollibee beside Sto. Rosario Parish.Thank God! Someone saw it. I hurriedly replied before they would go.To: Unknown NumberYou’re my savior! Thank you! I’m just outside USC. Be there in a sec!I hit the send button and hurriedly walked towards Jollibee. It was only on the other side of our school. The one that I and Kylie passed by a while ago.
I was scribbling in my notebook when my phone suddenly beeped. My eyes widened when I saw who texted me.It was Josh! From: JoshI told Kristoff that you want to treat us for finding your ID. He said no at first but I convinced him. How about this lunch?I replied right away before they changed their mind. To: JoshSure. Where would you want to eat?“Kylie!” I squealed in a low tone. Where inside our room for our last subject waiting for our professor.“What?” Her brows furrowed while loo
Two days had passed after that lunch fiasco. Kylie didn’t return so I ended up eating by myself and then went back to USC.I let Kristoff have his two days of peace. Because today, I’d make sure I’d get on his nerves. After Kristoff told me those hurtful words, I realized that reality really hurts. But I didn’t let it get into me. Instead, I accept it as a challenge. The more he rejected me, the more that I was eager to pursue him.I let his words pass. I’d make him regret what he said about me. I’d tried anything to pester him until he gave up and fell to my charm.I was not like other girls. I knew what I wanted. And if I wanted it, I’d do anything just to have it.
My smile was so big, even if I knew that I pissed him off, big time.He dragged me to the back of one of the buildings inside the campus and then pushed me to the wall. I winched the moment my back touched the hard wall because he did it hard. He put his right hand on the wall caging me in place.“You don’t have to push me hard,” I said as I touched the back of my shoulder where it hurts.“Why are you here?” he said with gritted teeth. He didn’t even care if I got hurt or not. Such a cold guy. Tsk!“I’m here to see. Are you not happy?” I stood straight and looked up at him. Damn! He was so tall. I just realized it now because we were so close. I was just on his neck level.
I was in a bad mood the whole week. Thanks to Kristoff. He knew how to pissed me off. For those days, I have been trying to see him to no avail. He was hiding from me. Yep. I got it.“Seriously, Belle? Do you still have a crush on that marine guy? Record-breaker, huh?” She grinned. That made me more pissed.I threw her a lot of chips. We were actually in Kylie’s house, and we were currently watching Kissing Booth two in her room.“Stop it! You are wasting the chips!” I just rolled my eyes at her and just focused on watching the movie. It was the scene where Elle saw an earring under No
My eyes widened from his sudden assault. He cupped my face and deepened the kiss that made my eyes closed.Volts of electricity ran down my spine when he entered his tongue inside my mouth and tasted every corner of it.I moaned and kissed him back with the same ferocity. My hands found his nape for support because my legs startled to wobble.I was almost out of breath. Good thing that he suddenly stopped kissing me for a moment but only to take off his shirt in an instant.I held my breath when I saw his naked broad chest down to his six pack abs, down to his v-shaped.
Five Years Later… “Seriously, Anna Belle? You still have not moved on to that Marine guy?” I glared at Kylie because she was talking nonsense again. “Said someone who can’t even move on from his ex for four years,” I rebutted. “Oh come on! At least we are back together? Right, Hon?” I rolled my eyes at them. “Right,” Josh answered back and then kissed Kylie in front of me. I really wanted to throw the slipper that I was wearing to them. They always made me jealous. Not jealous because she ended up with Josh. I was beyond happy that they ended up with each other. I was jealous of how sweet they were to each other. I was jealous because I did not have someone by my side. While both of them got each other. While me? I was still alone.
The loud sound of the alarm clock woke me up. I groaned as I tried to reach where it was. My eyes widened when I felt that I was falling from the bed.“Ouch!” I yelped in pain the moment my back touched the floor with a thud. Another curse came out from my mouth. Damn! My back was hurting a lot.I sprawled on the floor and groaned again before I finally stood up and stopped the alarm. My eyes widened again when I saw that it was already eight in the morning.“Shit! My interview is at Nine.” I sprinted towards the bathroom and hurriedly took off my clothes and took a shower. I squealed when the cold water touched my body, so I adjusted the temperature and made it warm instead. After Thirty minutes, I was already done. After
I was still stunned by what was happening. My hands were shaking. I couldn't believe everything that I heard.“I’m really sorry, Belle. I shouldn’t have forced you to come. It was my fault,” Kylie said when we got inside her car.I didn’t even notice that we were already at the parking lot, inside his car. I was preoccupied the whole time she dragged me out of the Grand Ball. What Scarlet and Kylie said still lingered in my head.I clasped my hand together to stop it from trembling and looked straight to Kylie. “K-Kyl… is it really true? I… I…” I burst out.“You are a murderer.”
The days were running so fast. It’s already Sunday afternoon, and tonight will be our alumni party.I was already preparing myself for the party. Kylie said that she would just fetch me later so that we could go there together. The venue would be at WaterFront Grand Ballroom at Waterfront Hotel and Casino. It would be my second time to be in their Grand Ballroom. Last time Kylie and I were there for Morrisette Amon’s concert.I went to the bathroom and took a shower for an hour. After showering, I changed into my bathrobe, and I blow-dried my hair in front of the mirror. It was already 5 PM. I still have three hours to prepare. My make-up set was already ready for me to use. After
I was cracking my neck as I sat down on my couch after getting a glass of milk. Kristoff was not having a sleepover tonight because he was in Manila for some business. As much as I wanted to go with him, I couldn’t. I have a lot of things to do in the office. My phone on the coffee table suddenly rang. My brows raised as I saw who was calling. It was my best friend, Kylie. What does she need this time? Tsk! “Hey—” I was cut off right away when she suddenly squealed my name. “Annabelle!” My face turned sour as I leaned my back on the couch. “Belle,
Two days and one night in Carnaza Island was bliss. I didn’t even want to go back to the city, but apparently, we needed to—more workloads for a busy Monday.I was so tired of our escapade, but I didn’t mind at all since it was worth it. I would love to go back there again. Maybe next time.We just arrived at the city and went our separate ways. Kylie left with Josh while Kristof was with me. We were on our way to my condo. He insisted on staying for the night. I even told him that I didn’t want to because we might end up on the bed, naked but, he said that we would just really sleep as in sleeping literally together.“Tired?” Kristoff asked when he saw me yawn. I couldn’t help it. I really felt sleepy, and it was s
When we got back on the shore, I saw Josh and Kylie go out from the rock formation. I couldn’t help but shake my head. My dirty mind was starting to work again, and I just didn’t want my best friend and Josh doing it in my head. “Seriously?” I looked at both of them with scrutinizing eyes. “What?” Kylie asked with an innocent face. I raised my right brow at her as I put my hands on my waist. “Did you just—“ “Woah! Stop right there. It’s not what you are thinking,” Josh said, stopping me. “What do you think I am thinking?” I said, still looking at both of them, but now with scrutinizing eyes. I heard a slight chuckle on my back. I glanced and saw Kristoff trying to stifle his laugh. I glared at him and stared back at Kylie and Jo
While we were traveling, I asked the driver why it was called Skull Cove. He said that they found two skulls on the cove that was why they started calling it Skull Cove.We trekked for a couple of minutes before arriving at the spot. It was a secluded beach area and it was only us when we arrived. It was kinda creepy for me when I found out why it was called Skull cove, and I thought the area was frightening, but seeing the cove right now, if there was another big word for amazing, that would be what it was.The turquoise water and the white sand welcomed us as we arrived at the skull cove. Kristoff was beside me with a grumpy face. I thought he would really go back to his yacht and use it, but he didn’t. He actually followed us.“Seriously? What’s with the long face? Look at the
I woke up with Kristoff beside me. He was facing me. I tried my best not to wake him up. I was just looking at him sleeping. I raised my hand and caressed his hair. I couldn’t help it. Staring at him like this made me think if this was really real or I was just dreaming. He was handsome, even if he was just wearing a white sleeveless shirt. His biceps were showing, and I couldn’t help but gulp.My eyes widened when he suddenly moved. I closed my eyes and pretended to be sleeping. The hair on my nape suddenly stood up when I felt his hand on my cheek. His hand moved from my cheek down to my neck, and I couldn’t help but shiver from his touch.I pressed my eyes together when I felt his lips on mine, kissing my bottom lip gently. He suddenly stopped, which made me groan in my head.&n
I was glaring at Kylie as she walked towards the door. I was trying to process what the heck just happened that Kristoff was with Josh.Everything led to Kylie. She planned all of this. I was sure about that.A part of me was happy that Kristoff was here and going with us but, also a part of me was still confused about our standing. This was again Kylie’s fault. If she didn’t ask what our relationship was, I wouldn’t be thinking like this. I wouldn’t be questioning what I am for him.I heaved a sigh and tried just to forget everything Kylie said. I didn’t want to be bothered by it. For now, I would just go with the flow and be content with what we had right now.Kylie opened the door, and the two men got inside in an
I was in Kylie’s condo, munching her v-cut while waiting for her to finish ordering on the phone for our dinner. It was already the weekend, and I didn't have work. I was bored in my condo because Kristoff was actually out of the country. He got a business conference for two days, and he’d be back on Monday. He wanted to bring me, but I refused it. Kylie kept on bombarding my phone and wanted me to catch up with her. I had been ditching her since Kristoff, and I hit it off. And I felt sorry for her, so here I was in her condo. I was catching up with her and trying to enjoy the weekend without Kristoff’s presence. It’s just, after what happened to Kristoff and me, I was already used to spending my weekend with him. And I know it would never be the same if he would disappear again. “So…” Kylie started as she
