CHAPTER 6  - Mistress or a Wife

“So what is it that you wanted to tell me Shelyca?” Dareon asked grinning as they entered his big hovel.

“Dareon, Can you help me please contact my family? I don’t know where I am now and how I could be able to speak any of them. They might be worried already.” She replied with worry on her face. She sat on the wooden chair and Dareon followed. He sat beside her.

Thoughtfully, he looked at her. “I am sure your parents are worried already. However, we have no means of modern communications here. We are a tribe composed of farmers, fishermen and hunters. We are far from the city.”

“I was quite right then with my guess. There is no modern way of communicating from here.” Sadness filled Princess Shelyca’s eyes. “How long will it take us to the city?”  

Dareon could actually bring Princess Shelyca home that easy. All he has to do is to shift to his dragon form and flip his wings; however, his heart has been commanding him otherwise. He does not want Shelyca to go home. Just, not yet. 

“It will take a week and it is risky. Anyway, you are free to stay here until we find a better way to bring you home. I am just wondering where you were going when that incident happened.” He seriously shot Princess Shelyca with his questioning eyes. 

Princess Shelyca made a deep breath before lying down her story. “I was about to meet my future fiancé, the Duke of Sussex,” she softly stated.

A sudden pain wrenched the heart of the Master Dragon when he heard the words of Princess Shelyca; the more that his desire not to bring her home now ignited into his every vein. “I won’t let you go Shelyca not until you are mine already,” he thought while envisioning his life with her on his side every day.

“I see. Sorry for that.” Dareon murmured with jealousy lingering in his heart. 

“I cannot still fathom why someone wanted to kill me.” Princess Shelyca softly said.

“Then, it is imperative for you to know first who might be the culprit who wanted to put an end to your life before you decide to go home.” Dareon suggested. 

Shelyca nodded. “Yes, I guess you are right. “

“Come to think of it Shelyca; the one who wanted you dead knew that you are a werewolf; the culprit knew how a werewolf should be killed and that is through a silver bullet.” Dareon added, putting Shelyca into deep thoughts.

Deep within Dareon, he is thinking of ways how he could keep her long here in the Thregonad Village.

Then Dareon found a good reason to have for himself the Lycan Princess.

“We have a problem now Shelyca. I have an upcoming truce with the Pirate’s Captain. His group will return four days from now.” Dareon seriously focused his eyes on Shelyca.

“What do you mean Dareon?”

Dareon explained. “In order for the Pirates to leave our village free from their intrusions, the Pirates’ Captain and I came to an agreement or a truce. They will be an ally of Thregonad instead of an enemy. But the exchange deal for this truce is a woman from this village; whom the Pirate’s Captain will choose.” 

Somehow, Shelyca understood the predicament of Dareon. “And you do not want to give any one of your women here to the Pirates’ Captain, right? Do we need to fight them?”

“No. We cannot risk the life of our women and children here. But all of the Thregonad people already agreed that anyone from amongst the women here, who will be chosen by the pirate, will come in peace, just to save our village. But of course, I had conditions too with the Captain’s Pirate. He can only choose among our single women. Married women are not included in the line.”  Dareon now is keenly looking at Shelyca.

Shelyca’s forehead furrowed. “So are you saying that I will be included in that line of single women here, with whom this Captain’s Pirate will choose from?” her tone is now a little louder.

“Yes, because I cannot hide you from them. If they will find out, it will be an automatic war.” Dareon confirmed, with eyes bleakley looking at Shelyca.

“No! That cannot be! I am not a Thregonad woman. I am a Lycan Princess!” Furious, Shelyca stood-up and gave Dareon a squinting look.

Dareon cleared his throat. “There is one solution that I can think of.” He stopped for a while. Shelyca gave him a curious look.

“You can choose; marry a Thregonad man or be the Pirate Captain’s mistress? I am sure you will be chosen by the Captain. Right now, you are the most beautiful and alluring woman in this village that I can see he will have an eye for.” Dareon said as if stating a very simple solution. But Shelyca almost flared up in anger.

“I cannot marry someone. Give me a boat, I will sail going home.” She suggested.

Dareon shook his head. “We only have small boats here. You cannot pass through the Pacific Ocean with that boat. Besides, you cannot sail far without being chased by the pirates.”

Shelyca sat down flaring now with madness. “What should I do?” she hissed. She cannot fight even if she will shift into her wolf form. It will risk the Thregonad Village and she is not that selfish to risk other’s life just to save herself. 

“I am about to marry the Duke of Sussex; now I am marrying an ordinary Thregonad man?” Almost complaining Shelyca questioningly exclaimed.

“You can be the wife of the Master of this Village and not just by an ordinary Thregonad man.” Dareon simply said while shooting Shelyca with an unfathomable expression.

Shelyca suddenly looked at Dareon. “And who is the Master of this Village?” she asked with raised eyebrows.

“I am.” Dareon replied. Shelyca was stunned while her wolf, Sheenei jumped in excitement.

Dareon’s eyes scanned through what was inside Shelyca’s mind as he said those words and somehow he was satisfied. He saw a ray of excitement in her mind and that is enough for him right now.
