Alexander's POV
When my dad told me that I would have to get married to the most famous CEO’s daughter, Olivia, I felt like insects were crawling on my skin. “It is high time you settled with a woman of our standard”, my dad stated firmly. “You will be getting married to Olivia Adams, daughter of Mr. Adams, the CEO of Microsoft corp.” Olivia was not my type of person. I had gone to her family dinner on several occasions, and I had gotten to see her. She was calm, she was beautiful, she was ambitious, but she just was not sexy enough. All the women I had ever been with, although they never lasted and were just toys to me, were sexy, hot, and kinky in bed. They let me express myself the way I would like in bed, I could be my truest animalistic self when I was with them. I did not take the act softly. But, before I went into the bedroom with any woman I slept with, I did well to warn them about my preferences, especially to the ones that were not sexual workers but threw themselves at me because of my good looks and money. But most of the time, it did not deter them from wanting to sleep with me. Some of them caught feelings for me, because of the good sex or money, or both. Love was a fairytale to me. If I was attracted to any woman, the only thing I would desire would be intimacy. But, there was something different about Olivia. I could not pinpoint exactly what I felt for her. I did not desire sex from her compared to the way I desired sex from other women. I could not deny that she was drop-dead gorgeous, but she seemed innocent for me to ruin. I knew she was not a virgin, but still there was something about her that I could not damage. I knew she believed in true love, and she was different from other women who readily made themselves available for me. She had a boyfriend, one of the men I could not stand. She returned my energy by not speaking to me. She did not smile at me, and her face darkened each time our eyes met across the table during the family dinner. “Yes father, I think it's high time I did marry someone”, I said. I agreed to my dad partly because I just wanted to see Olivia struggle to keep up with me. It was obvious that she would rather swim the seven seas than be with me, but I loved that challenge. My life as a Mafia boss made me quite a serious person, but I hoped that Olivia's frustration could lighten up my mood. I liked it when women were frustrated because of me, it gave me that sense of being in control. Also, I agreed to marry Olivia because she was successful. She was not going to be a liability to me. She was going to want to be independent even if I wanted to take care of her. The combination of her being in love with another man and being a CEO of a business made me happy. This was the kind of woman that would let me do whatever I wanted. Or so I thought. When I sent Mia to take Olivia to get a wedding dress, I had foreseen her response. What I was not expecting was that her father would witness the scene and tell my father about it. Most of the time, my dad didn't care about what I did with my life; he let me sleep around with women as I pleased, take people's lives as I pleased, and make people's lives miserable as I pleased. After all, I was taking after him, and I was doing an even better job at it. But in this case, he had already made a deal with his best friend, Mr. Adams, that I, a successful Mafia leader and CEO, would marry his successful CEO daughter, and our wealth would be combined. My dad was a man of steel, never going back on his promises, so this was one part of my life he forcefully got involved in. He called, demanding that I do better, and I knew that I had to. “I expect you to do better than this, son”, my dad said quietly, but darkly. “You had better do whatever it takes to marry that girl. Do whatever you want to do in life, but make sure you marry that girl.” I was a powerful Mafia leader, but I had inherited that from my dad willingly because I loved wealth and power, so I had to do what my father instructed. “Yes father, I understand what you mean, and I would do exactly as you have said.” I called on Mia the next day. “Bring Olivia to me”, I stated flatly. Mia nodded her head respectfully and headed out to bring my stubborn soon-to-be wife. But a few hours passed and there was no sight of any of them. I got bored and decided to call on one of my popular prostitutes to come over. In less than forty minutes, she had arrived at the mansion where I was, and I told the security to let them in. I could see the level of fear in her eyes when she saw me. I could feel she was tense as she walked to my room. She was one of the few prostitutes that I knew hated having sex with me. She agreed to have sex with me because of the huge amount that I would give to her after her time. I made her work hard for the money every single time. I knew that my harshness towards her was one of the reasons she hated spending time with me. I knew she was frustrated and I loved it. After all, I did not threaten her to mate with me. She did everything by her own free will because she wanted the money. Fortunately for her, she was one of my favourite sex workers. Her screams and moans made me go faster and harder till I got to my level of ecstasy. But I was shortly disturbed by a knock on the door. “Mr, Alexander, Olivia is here”, Mia said from the other side of the door. I groaned, picking myself up from the bed quickly, and grabbing my shirt. “I will be right downstairs. Go to the chefs or do some paperwork”, I said to Mia, then I turned to my favourite call girl, who had quickly picked herself from her bed, and was hurriedly wearing her clothes. I smiled, but it did not get to my eyes. “You did a great job today, I would have loved to continue, but I would have to let you go for today. Take the ten thousand dollars on the table”, I ordered calmly. She did as she was told, squeezing the money into her tiny handbag. This was the last time she would be getting such an amount from me. I had no intention of seeing her again. She was great in bed, but I was getting bored of her screams. At least she got me to ecstasy, and I gave her lots of money. It was time to move on to another woman. We walked out of the room. As we walked down the stairs, my eyes met with Olivia's. The expression on her face was priceless. She looked disgusted and angry. But I was not bothered about what she thought. I was only bothered about her radiant complexion with flawless skin, her seductive curves that accentuate her femininity, her sparkling eyes, her long hair, and her elegant demeanor. I had never felt that a woman was out of my league like the way I felt at the moment. I knew Olivia was a beautiful woman, but it has been a while since I had seen her. I did not know that someone could transform to the best version in less than a year. For a while, I was somewhat happy that I was going to get married to such an elegant woman. At least, there would be more women making themselves available because they would think that Olivia was a major competition when she did not even care. But my thoughts were short-lived when she started asking me questions. I understood that she was frustrated about me sleeping with another woman instead of meeting up with her, but, the questions made me feel little. I hated when anyone questioned me, and it was usually women that questioned me. It was one of the reasons I hated trying to have a regular conversation with a female, a girl or a woman, because they were always full of questions. I liked being in control of everything including conversations, so I did not like being questioned because that would mean that I was not fully in control. The conversation with her was boring, and I was slightly pissed off when she mentioned that she had a boyfriend. I knew she had a boyfriend and I knew her boyfriend more than she knew. But, I was going to tell her that. I tried intimidating her a lot of times. But, she was confident. There were some points that she was less confident, but that did not stop her from speaking to me harshly, and when I had grabbed her by her neck, the image of her in bed with me, had flashed through my mind. It was as though she was the one intimidating me just by existing. She was able to fight away from my hold after a while of struggling. I had to admit it was impressive. When I held her back behind her, and pressed her to the wall, I was supposed to feel victorious that I could feel her breathing faster. But, I could not feel that way because I was too ashamed, my adulthood had risen and was firmly pressed against her. I was grateful that she could not speak about it. Perhaps, we both were too embarrassed to say anything about it. Also, I was surprised that she understood Russian. She understood that one of my men, Petrov, who had come to deliver some news for me, called her a bitch. I wondered what other languages she understood. I hated the way Olivia made me feel. She made me feel like I was not in total control. In less than an hour of speaking, she had left me in awe, confusion, and anger. I had to be in control. I wanted her to be frustrated. And I was going to make her life miserable for intimidating me.Olivia's POVI decided to have a look around my soon-to-be husband's mansion, knowing that it would soon be ours. The living room I stood in had shiny crystal chandeliers, marble floors, plush carpets and priceless art works. Everything reflected Alexander's extravagant taste and lifestyle.I was about to climb up the stairs when Mia came down. She smiled at me, but the smile did not reach her eyes. “Hi ma-I mean miss Olivia. Would you like to get your wedding dress now? Mr. Alexander told me it was time to go for your wedding dress.”“Why are you Alexander's personal assistant?”, I blurted. “I mean don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with you. It's just that Alexander is a powerful Mafia boss who doesn't care about women, so I'm curious about knowing why he made you his personal assistant.”She looked down at the floor and started to cry. I felt bad. I didn't mean to sound condescending, I was genuinely curious as to why Alexander had employed Mia to be his personal assistant.
“If it's not important, I don't expect you to text me. Tell Mia to pick a dress for you if you're so indecisive. If you're still uncertain after asking Mia, you can buy all three dresses. I don't care.”I kept rereading the texts to see if I read it wrong, but each time I realised that I read it correctly.‘This arrogant man’, I thought, fuming. I blamed myself for asking for his input. He was always self-centred, and I should have known better than to text him. I made a mistake to be excited for a moment. But now, I suddenly missed Ryan.“What's wrong, beauty?”, the boutique owner asked with concern when she saw my smile had dropped. I tried to feign a smile. I could not let some words that Alexander said to me get me visibly annoyed.“It's nothing”, I said.“You don't like the dress?”, the boutique owner asked, walking over to me. She was so sweet.“No, no”, I said. “The dresses are beautiful. I am just having a tough time picking the best.”“How about we just say our favourite”,
“There's news that I would like to share with you. You're getting married to Alexander. He is the best person that I have selected for you to marry”, my dad said, as I came down the stairs, his wife beside him as he made his announcement. I froze at the spot when he was done with his announcement. I had rushed out of my room right after dropping my luggages, because I was excited to tell them about school. It had been six months since I came home, because I was always busy with projects, exams and managing a business that I owned. The rush of regrets hit me. I remembered one of the reasons that I stayed away from home, my parents always had something to dictate about my life. Initially, I had wanted to be an actress, to be seen on the big screen, but my parents had rejected my dreams, saying that it was worthless and that they would not let their daughter do such a thing. My parents threw a party to celebrate my graduation. I was not interested in attending because I knew most of my friends from school would not receive invitations. My dad was hosting the party, and I was pretty sure he would only invite people he considered to be of a higher social class. But as expected, I was forced to get dressed against my will. As I got ready, Ryan video-called. I missed him terribly. Instead of cuddling throughout the night, I was having a breakdown."Hey, Ryan," I said, forcing a smile. I did not want to break the horrible news to him. It would break him, and I knew he did not deserve to be heartbroken."Hey, baby girl. You look so beautiful and sexy. Where are you going tonight?" he asked, his smile radiating warmth. I could feel tears starting to gather in my eyes when I heard his voice."My dad threw a party to celebrate my first-class win," I replied, trying not to burst into tears."Congratulations again, baby girl. You deserve it”, Ryan said, his smile
Stress gnawed at me. This marriage… to Alexander? The thought felt like a physical blow. My heart ached for Ryan, the only man who truly understood me, the only man I loved. That night, the stolen moments of texting him felt like heaven. "Ryan, I miss you," I typed, the words spilling out like a desperate confession. Indeed, I was desperate for him. His reply, "I miss you too, my baby girl," was balm to my raw soul. But my longing went deeper. “I want you, Ryan," I wrote, the words barely scratching the surface of my need. I needed him more than words could describe.“I want you so much”, I added. The urgency in my voice, even through the text, was evident.“Baby girl”, he said, looking sad. “I do want you too, but I have a test tomorrow, and I'm studying…”It was apparent that he wanted me too, but the test was in the way…it was always the test.
