Chapter 30

-MILA-

I was in my car and ready to go meet Selene and Merrick when my phone rang.

At first, all I could hear on the line was Selene's frantic screaming.

"Where are you? What's going on?" I tried desperately to make sense of what he was screaming into the phone.

"Home! Help me!" She shouted before the line went dead.

I immediately started the car and raced to get to her, dialing Lobo's number repeatedly but there was no answer.

I threw my phone down on the empty seat and focused on the road. I was driving way over the speed limit to get to Selene.

My phone started to ring but I couldn't reach it so I left it.

When I got to Selene's it rang again.

"Mila, what's going on?" Lobo asked as soon as I picked up.

"Get to Selene's house. Now."

I jumped out of the car and ran to the boot, taking out the tire iron I raced for the house.

The door was open and when I walked in I found the place in shambles.
