I hoped the Pack couldn't tell how nervous I was by my inability to stand still. Lobo was addressing them about the prophecy.

True to his word, he was telling them that Shauna was mistaken, but that it was no fault of her own.

I knew why we had to lie to them, but I wouldn't say I liked it. I wanted to tell them the truth, and I felt guilty standing by while Lobo lied to them.

I shifted from one foot to the other, glancing around.

I was trying not to look guilty and knew I was failing miserably.

I noticed Mitch sneaking glances at me from time to time, which made me think he suspected that we were lying to them all.

I caught Mitch's eyes and looked away, casting my eyes downward.

Betty and Shauna stood nearby, and both of them kept looking at me too, but I refused to meet their gaze.

I was afraid they would be able to see that we were hiding the truth from them.
