After Angelo, Sean and Nathan had gone home, the remaining three took over their chairs and sat in a circle near the garage door, playing cards for money.

Joe had forced Zahn to open the pack of cards from her car which she actually used as deco. She had two unopened boxes— one red and one blue. In her car, the two boxes were placed side by side in the DIN slot, looking brand new. Apparently that was the whole idea.

With Hunter having to whisper whenever he had something to say and unable to shout like Joe and Zahn were occasionally doing, this made the game more enjoyable for Zahn and Joe. But after almost ten rounds and Joe winning most of it, Hunter was ready to quit, saying that they were cheating and taking advantage of the fact that he couldn't speak.

They ended the game soon after and had decided that two would keep a look out while one got rest and alternate every four hours. Zahn and Hunter were up first as Joe made it a point that it was only right that they let him sleep fir

The piercing sound of the gunshot startled Zahn who had started falling asleep on her chair. It even woke Joe up. Realizing that Hunter and the hostage were missing, Joe pulled out his gun, rushing out of the office.“Where's Hunter?”“Last I checked, he took the girl out to go pee in the bushes.”“Shit.” Joe cussed as Zahn pulled out her gun. They both then scurried outside.Fast forward to two nights later...After a couple of deep breaths, Rob Holland knocked and then opened his bedroom door. How ironic, for someone who had been married for 25 years. But after Elizabeth had caught her with Julia two days ago, she had chased him out of their bedroom when he tried to hop in that night. Since then, he had been sleeping in his office. There were other rooms in the mansion where he could have slept comfortably and not missed his own bed but he felt that it was only right for him to sleep on a mattress on his office floor. That way it would mean something to his wife, that he was sorry f

It was just after 8 in the morning when Hunter woke up. He looked through the office window and saw Rebecca sitting up in the bed, her head resting on her knees.Zahn and Joe had watched almost three movies on N*****x in the last 4 hours that they had been keeping watch. Zahn's battery was at 3% and there was still 22 minutes of John Wick: Chapter 4 left.“Shit.” Zahn said pausing the movie. “We're gonna have to finish it tomorrow.”Joe yawned, stretching out his arms and legs as he slouched in the chair. “These damn chairs are so hard. When I go home I'm probably gonna sleep for like 12 hours. Minimum.”Zahn scoffed as Hunter walked out of the office. “You dumbass, 12 hours after you leave this place you're gonna have to come back here and relieve the loansharks.”“Oh shit.” Joe complained as it occured to him. “So for like 6 more days we won't have a life anymore?”“Yeah and guess who else won't have a life after 6 days?” She then gestured to Rebecca. “Literally.”Hunter greeted when

His laugh faded into an egotistic smile. And then it disappeared completely as his eyes moved from her flustered face to her provocative lips. In a way, he felt challenged. He knew very well that he could make her take away everything that she had just told him. He sat forward in his chair and drew out his hand. Of cause she recoiled, but the look in his gray eyes talked to her. This wasn't an act of violence, she could relax. So she allowed it. His hand placement on her neck was like a spell cast. Her brain was telling her to react but the only thing her body sensed was how good it felt under his hand. Her body could only grasp the sentiments his touch sent throughout her whole body. Her eyes were speaking to him too, and it was telling him that she was curious for more.He leaned in and kissed her sensually, as if she belonged to him. Before Rebecca knew it, she had been charmed: she was kissing him back with burning passion. And when she did realize what he had lured her into, she

18h00. Hunter darted at the time on his phone. Rob Holland had not even bothered to call. What kind of father was he, really? Clearly a useless one. As Hunter thought, he fiddled with the pendant of his chain. Whatever Rob Holland was doing to try and gather up the money, he had to do it fast.Hunter's phone began buzzing in his hands. It was his house help, Lolita. “Hello?” He answered.“Yes. Hello, sir.” She responded. She had been working for him ever since he moved out of King's place but this was the first time they were talking on a call. Was something wrong? With her children, perhaps?“Is something wrong, Lolita?”“Uh...” She felt a little embarrassed to lay her case. Hunter had always helped her by paying extra every week for her kids' transport to school. And whenever she had a problem, he was always eager to pull more cash out of his wallet and hand it to her. One time her last born fell sick at school during her work day at Hunter's. When she got the call he was smoking a

“I want to have a sit down.” Hunter said. Hector King looked a bit worried and doubtful, almost as if he would refuse. “About what now?” Hunter could match the change in Hector's attitude towards him over the phone to what he saw now. “I think Angelo needs to go.” Hunter went on. “Angelo?” King's skepticism was very clear now. “Yes. Angelo.” “Angelo as in capo, Angelo? The captain of loan sharks?” King responded in disbelieve. “Yes. Him.” Hunter could see that King wasn't on par with his suggestion. “The guy doesn't obey me. He is arrogant and disrespects me in front of his men and my people.” Hunter explained. “How do I lead with that?” Hector King looked thoughtful. He then leaned forward and placed his forearms on his desk, his hands cupping his whiskey glass. “Well, I think you've just been overdoing it a little.” King said bluntly. Hunter frowned. “What do you mean?” “You put his little soldier on top of the man, it doesn't work like that. “And you don't want the men

Hunter checked the envelope and saw two small photos. He wore a permanent frown as he held the two pictures, one in each hand. He looked from the one to the other. The one picture had the same picture of the moustache guy that he had received while he was at the mansion and a few days ago when he was with Rebecca in his house. He turned the photo and saw the familiar print: George. The other photo had a new face... and then it hit him— this was the man he met last night. He looked behind that photo and saw the word ‘Walker’. That's what he had said his name was, Walker. As Hunter looked from the black and white photo of George to the color photo of Walker, he could clearly see that they were the same person. He was just younger and old-fashioned in the black and white picture. The color picture was obviously a recent picture where he had gotten rid of the Pakistan moustache. Hunter shook his head quickly and turned to the A4 letter, ‘I am sorry. Dad.’. ‘I am sorry. Dad.’ Hunter

If this situation was as messed up as it seemed, then Hunter knew that not phoning King was the best thing he could do. It still didn't make any sense for King to murder the father and then take in the son. You'd have to be a real psychopath to do that. But Hunter believed in King. He had raised him as his own, never ever treated him like an outsider. For the rest of the day Hunter tried blocking out those thoughts. He tried to go about his day as he would if it was any other normal day. But if it wasn't George Walker and his theory he was thinking about, it was Rebecca Holland. Wondering how Angelo and Nathan were treating her. Did they buy her any food this morning? He pulled out his phone and went on UberEats. He came across some waffle restaurant on the app and checked their menu. Rebecca really enjoyed those waffles the other day, he thought. Maybe he should order her some, with an orange juice. He did just that. As he was waiting for the delivery, he took a shower and dre

She nodded sheepishly, only for the realization to hit her a few seconds later. “You know, all this is crazy.” She scoffed sadly. “I still can't believe it. Like am I really in love with my kidnapper?” He gave her a sad smile, maintained eye contact and then got up and pushed the chair away. His life was a mess! "Sir, are you okay?" One of his men asked him. Sylvester grunted. "I... am shot." He dropped the gun to the floor. The wound was on his left upper arm and was bleeding profusely. That was the note that had come with the baby.Although George didn't understand the second sentence, he placed the note on their coffee table and took the wailing baby out of Stella's hands. It was his first time carrying a baby, and he feared holding him too tight or not holding him firm enough and drop him. As he tried to craddle the baby, his heart pounded. The baby had light brown skin and not much head hair. His mouth was pink and his wails were woarse."Shh shhh..." George tried walking around the room trying to sooth it. "Is it a boy or a girl?" He asked his mother."It's a boy." George looked at the baby's face and fell in love. "But how could she just leave you like that, little guy?" He asked."Because she's crazy that's why."
