It was easy for Hunter to put two and two together now. The reason why he couldn't recognize her in the picture Angelo had brought was because she had make up on and she wasn't wearing the blonde curly wig. She looked older with make up on. In the club she wasn't wearing any make up, like now. Just the red lipstick. With the makeup, she looked like someone way out of Hunter's league. But natural, she just looked simple, innocent and beautiful. She was wearing dark blue flare jeans and a light blue cropped long sleeved top with white sneakers. Her hair pitch black, curly at the edges and loose.
“Lost your voice?” She asked Hunter as if she wasn't too happy with his presence. Hunter looked at the billionaire and then back at Rebecca uncomfortably. “Uh... of cause not. Sorry ma'am... I’m Hunter.” “I know.” She responded curt. “What I really want to know is what you are doing here.” Hunter looked over at the billionaire, anxiety spiking. The billionaire too looked a little anxious. “Honey,” Rob took Rebecca's hand quickly. She pulled away almost immediately. Looked at him as if he was some stranger who had no right to touch her. “Is this some sick joke?” She asked Hunter. “Hunter is here to keep you safe—” “Keep me safe?” Rebecca's voice was shaking. Her father babbled for a second and then found his words. “You know, I'm a business man, many people out there are against what I do. I just need to make sure that you don't get dragged in along the way.” “What were you thinking?” She asked her father. “So, you pick some good-looking guy to seduce your daughter so she can finally accept having a bodyguard?” “What?” Both Hunter and her father asked. Rob was just confused but Hunter couldn't believe she had just said so with no filter at all. “You know dad, the reason why you hire strange men to follow me around all day has everything to do with who you are. Not my safety. Otherwise, you would never stoop so low.” Rebecca was tearing up. “What are you talking about, sweety?” Rob asked her. He looked confused. “He is just here to look out for you.” “So like a fuck-guard?” “What is going on?” Rob looked from Rebecca to Hunter. “What is this?” “Why don't you ask your bodyguard, here?” Rob shook his head, doubting the possibility. “Have you two met before?” “Uh...” Hunter couldn't find any words. “Yes!” Rebecca cut in. “In a club, and guess what dad, we had sex.” Rob's mouth hung open. “Rebecca!” “We met in a club yes, but we didn't have sex. We just talked that night... at the bar while we were waiting for our drinks.” Hunter tried. “Just talked. Not even for long.” Rebecca scoffed as she looked from looked from Hunter to her father. “I guess you're gonna have to find another person.” “Okay, so you guys just talked?” Rob was trying to wrap his head around it. “I swear, sir.” Hunter tried not to look guilty. Rebecca gasped. “Such a lying piece of shit—” “That's enough Rebecca!” Her father shouted. “I know you don't like having bodyguards but making such nonsense up just so the guy can leave... come on!” “I'm the liar? I'm the liar when you got some man to sleep with your own daughter so you could get your way?” Rob looked like he didn't have an answer for her. She then turned to Hunter and looked him up and down. “You, Hunter, undercover bodyguard, whatever you are, stay away from me, you psycho.” She turned around and walked out of the office. “She’s a tough one, I told you. I'm sorry.” Rob walked around his desk and stood behind it. “I think she thinks that you sent me because she saw me at the same club that day. But I swear nothing happened.” Rob then sighed. “I believe you.” There was an awkward moment of Rob just staring at Hunter. If he believed him, why was he staring at him like that? “You know, this is a little awkward, sir. I think it would be best if you found someone else.” Hunter was bailing. There was no way he'd work here like this. Angelo's soldier could replace him. He wasn't cut out for this much drama. He needed to be home throwing parties night after night, enjoying his position as underboss. Not this bullshit. Rob looked thoughtful, after a few seconds he made up his mind. “You know what your job is. We already spoke.” Rob sounded like he was dismissing him. Did he just ignore Hunter's willingness to quit? Hunter wasn't sure, but he nodded. “Whenever she gets mad like that, she tends to leave the house. Sometimes I think she just gets mad to find an excuse to leave the house.” Rob said, taking a seat on his office chair. “Anyway, follow her.” Hunter looked at the opened office door wavering whether or not following the angry sparrow was a good idea. Then again, this man was here. He didn't have much of a choice. Hunter walked out of the office and caught a glimpse of her just as she turned the corner to the stairs. He jog-ran toward her. She was storming down the stairs. When she got to the bottom she looked up and saw Hunter following her. She walked out of the mansion and then stopped to face Hunter as he approached. When Hunter reached her, he was almost out of breath. Again, a reminder that he needed to start working out again. “Why are you running after me?” Rebecca asked him. “I told you to stay the fuck away from me.” He bent over, trying to regain his breath. “Your father... he... whew! Just give me... a moment.” After a few seconds he stood up straight, feeling a lot better now. “If you knew you were working with my father, why did you—” She couldn't finish her words, she looked away trying to hold the emotion in, she looked heartbroken. “No, Becca.” He answered. “I wasn't working with him at the time. This is my first day, I swear.” She ran her fingers through her hair and let out a heavy sigh, which was accompanied by tears. “I swear. I know it looks like it looks but I swear I had no idea who you were until now.” “So you're trying to tell me that all of this...” She gestured, “is just a coincidence?” Hunter just stared at her, not knowing what to say to her that would make this coincidence sound realistic, because as he thought about it himself, all this felt so unreal. Why in the world did she have to be the same damn girl he took to his house that night? “It's a coincidence that we met in the club that Saturday, and then almost a week later you pop up in our house and my bodyguard gets swopped for you?” Hunter shrugged lightly. “I wasn't swopped. I am just relieving John for a couple of weeks.” “That's not the point. Why did you have sex with me if you knew that you'd be working as my bodyguard a few days after that?” Hunter looked around to make sure nobody was eavesdropping. “I swear to God I had no idea. I only got the job offer a few days after that night.” She stared at him like she wasn't sure he was telling the truth. “You know, that's funny because back there you were swearing that I was lying too...” “Yes!” He shook his head, looking at her like she was insane. “Because, why in the world would you tell your father that? Seriously!” Rebecca frowned. “Look, this is not okay! You sound so casual about all of this but it's not okay at all. This is not some movie, okay. We spent the night together and now I just have to pretend that I don't know how your dick looks like?” “Technically we didn't spend the night together, you ran away at flipping 2am. Who even does that? And you don't even leave the guy your number? Seriously?” Rebecca was speechless for a few seconds, and then, “That's not the point. Gosh, what's it with you missing every point I'm trying to make?” “No, I know. You're the one that mentioned my dick.” Hunter told her. “We're having a serious conversation, asshole.” “I'm very serious.” Hunter loosened his tie, it was suffocating him under that hot sun. “I tried to quit a few seconds ago but your father didn't even think about my request. You think I like acting as your bodyguard after that crazy night we had? You've been on my mind every damn day since that night, you think I want to follow you around as some bodyguard all day?” Rebecca was upset, but she couldn't help feeling just a ping of pleasure finally hearing that she was not the only one stuck on that night. And the way he just loosened his tie in front of her, what kind of bodyguard does that? She couldn't help thinking he was really cute right now. Maybe it was not that bad that he was here right now and not some other bodyguard that she's never met. “Look, I promise to keep this as professional as possible. I'm here to do my job and that's all.” He told her, raising his hands in surrender. “I'll even call you ma'am, and miss, and all that shit.” “Well that's what you're supposed to call me.” She said bluntly, trying to sound bossy. It was clear that Hunter wasn't as scared of her as a new bodyguard would have been at this moment. “I am going to my room, don't follow me around.” She then walked past him and back into the mansion. Hunter stood there for a few seconds thinking about how he just dodged this bullet. He sighed heavily and placed his palm over his chest. “Gosh…” He walked around the mansion to the wendy house where he had kept his things. He went to the locker and took his backpack and suit out. He then walked back into the mansion using the back entrance. There was only one bodyguard at the back entrance. He greeted Hunter as Hunter passed him. Hunter felt relief, forgetting that at this moment he was one with these people. He could walk in and out the house and no one would ask him anything because he worked here. He found his way around the mansion to the room where he was supposed to be sleeping in. The rooms were marked in letters. His was F. It looked like a small motel room. Single bed, a little walking space, one closet, a small bathroom and that was it. He sat at the corner of the bed. It was not comfortable at all. If he had had military training like most of the other bodyguards, he'd think otherwise. But no, he was used to his soft queen sized bed. He shook his head and sat with his elbows on his thighs and sighed. Rebecca was not like the sweet nonchalant Becca he spent a night with, she was rude, had no filter and mean like John had told him and he could tell she would be a nightmare. Then again, these few weeks didn't have anything to do with how Rebecca would treat him or the level of comfort he'd experience on this bed at night, it had to do with the one million dollar sitting in Robert Holland's safe upstairs. Hunter looked around the bedroom for any cameras and wires. He spent a good ten minutes making sure he wasn't being spied on or anything. All was clear. He took off his suit jacket and took out his cell phone from the inside pocket. He walked to the wardrobe and opened it. There was only one hanger in there. He used it to hang his suit jacket. He then took his other suit jacket which he had brought with him and hanged it over the new one. He went back to the bed and sat down. He opened up his backpack. He took out two sweaters, two underpants, two pair of shorts, some cologne, roll-on, earphones and his laptop. As he took the things out, he laid it on his bed, one by one, neatly. He then felt a couple of stitches along the back of the inside of his backpack. He tore it apart with his hands. He stuck his hand in there blindly and felt the metal device. He pulled it out and ran his fingers around it. With this device, he could control all the cameras in this mansion. He would be able to see exactly what the team upstairs, watching the cameras, saw and he would have access to the storage of all the recordings of the camera from the time the device was connected, well, according to Hew. Of cause Hunter had no idea how to connect it or how it worked, he was no IT specialist. He took his phone and called up the mafias IT guy. The hacker. Hew. “What's good, four eyes, I've got the device and my laptop in my hands right now.” Hunter said, opening up his lap top, he switched it on and placed it next to him on the bed. “Cool, are you within at least three thousand feet of the camera room?” Hew asked. “Uh... I don't know, I'm down in the room they gave me.” Hunter looked around the room. “How far exactly is three thousand feet?” “Well, is the device on?” “I don't know, did you give it to me on?” “It's off.” Hew sounded a little impatient. “Turn it on, there's a button on the side, just press and hold it until a white light comes up.” Hunter looked around the device, using his one hand to tilt and turn it around. He found a rectangle button and pressed it for long. “I'm pressing it.” “You see the USB cable on the device?” “Yeah.” Hunter was looking at the black coiled cable attached to the device. “Cool.” A white light beeped twice on the device and then disappeared. “I saw a white light, but it went off.” “Yeah, it's on.” Hew said. “Now keep your laptop off and connect it to the USB cable from the device.” “Can't I just plug it in while it's on?” “Do you want your laptop to freeze and never turn back on?” Hew asked Hunter. Hunter turned off his laptop and waited. Damn hackers, always sounding like they knew every damn thing in the world, Hunter thought. He then took the USB cable attached to the device and connected it to his laptop. The screen turned on: showing only a white blank screen that went on and off. “I think your thing killed my laptop.” “Is the screen turning on and off?” Hew asked. “Yeah.” “That just means that it's connecting. Once the screen on your laptop stays white then the paring is complete.” “How long is it going to take?” Hunter looked up at the alarm clock on the headboard of the bed. “Not long. What takes long is connecting the cameras to the laptop.” The screen stopped blinking and stayed white. “Okay, they're connected.” Hunter said. A mixture of letters, numbers and punctuation marks began going up the screen. “Okay now there's just a bunch of stuff showing on the screen.” Hunter said. “What?” “Letters, numbers. Just weird shit that don't make any sense.” “Hit F4 and the letter J on your keyboard.” Hunter did as he was told and a block popped up, requesting a pin. “The pin is eight, two, nine, four.” Hew told him. As Hunter finished entering the last number the screen went black and the device beeped twice, emitting a red light that kept blinking every two seconds. “It just went blank.” Hunter stared at the blank screen. Hew didn't answer. “Shit. Did I fuck it up?” Hunter asked him. Hew didn't answer. “Four eyes?” “Relax, boss.” He said through a sigh. “With computers and shit you need to learn the art of patience.” “Unfortunately, I don't have much patience. How long is this gonna take?” Hunter asked. “The device is trying to locate all the cameras within three thousand feet from it.” Hew responded. “It's going to take a while. Minimum forty to sixty minutes.” Knock! Knock! Hunter heard someone knocking on his door. “Shit. I gotta go.” Hunter closed his laptop clumsily and stashed both the laptop and the device in his backpack and threw the backpack under his bed. His room door opened slowly. It was Rebecca standing at the door way. Her hair was in a curly bun now. “Why do you look so scared?” She asked him, glad that he was falling in line now. He placed his phone on the bed, faced down and got up. He stood with his hands behind his back. Rebecca chuckled and shook her head. She then walked up to him. When she got before him, she put her fingernail at the bottom of his chin and lifted his head to look into her eyes. Hunter felt the tip of her nail poking against his skin. “Do I scare you?” She was standing too close to him. Hunter couldn't resist looking from her eyes to her lips. Plump, like he remembered. He also remembered how sweet and warm they tasted that night on his couch. He looked away as he felt the uncontrollable urge to taste them at least one last time. “Look at me.” She titled her head to the side that he was facing. Hunter looked her in the eye. He could smell that subtle perfume of hers. His head was going crazy with things he wished he could do to her right now, things he'd been thinking about all week. She bit her bottom lip and then went on her tip toes and brought her face closer to his, in an attempt to kiss him. It took a lot of effort, but Hunter stepped away, making her heels touch the ground. Short little woman she was. “Ma'am...” Rebecca watched him for a while, a smile on her face. She then ran a warm soft palm down his cheek and walked out backwards not letting him off her naughty gaze. Hunter watched her leave his room satisfied, as if she had just found a new playmate in their huge quiet mansion...Oh, that rosy scent— sly and subtle... Inviting you to draw in closer. Getting closer was like a trap. Some kind of sensual bait. Because once you were up close, you never wanted to step away: Rebecca Holland's perfume. Hunter was kissing her neck while penetrating her as she moaned softly. She had her fingers in her soft black hair which was now messy and smelt of some soft organic shampoo. “Hunter...” She whispered softly, he could feel her breath against his ear. That gave him goosebumps. “Shit... Talk to me...” He muttered back, he's eyes closed, completely lost in how good it felt being in her. “Say my name again...” “Hunter…” Her voice a little more aggressive now, telling him she wanted it harder. “Harder, yeah?” “Hunter!” She shouted, alarming him. He sprung awake and looked around his room feeling busted. Rebecca Holland was standing at the doorway. She was wearing black formal pants, sneakers and a black cropped top with a small silver chain hanging out. Her hair w
“Look, I don't think that's a good idea.” Hunter told her as she reached over him to get her sunglasses in the glove compartment. “And why not?” She put her glasses on and pulled down the driving mirror to see how she looked. She titled her head to either side and then closed the mirror. “Because if your father had to find out we went to my place I don't think it would look right.” “We slept together and you're worried about him finding out we took a little drive to your place?” She began adjusting the hight of her seat. Hunter paused, looked forward and then turned to Rebecca. “Okay, none of that sounds right.” “Exactly—” “Yes, exactly why we shouldn't do it.” “Do what? Have sex again or go to your place?” She had a small smile as she looked around trying to see whether she would be able to see into the road. Hunter sighed and then answered. “You know what I mean. My place.” “Relax, I'm the one in charge anyway.” She told him and then began driving. “You won't get in tr
Five o'clock, the time read on the silver rectangular alarm clock. Hunter touched the surface of the clock. It immediately sensed the motion and stopped ringing. Rebecca had set his alarm for six o’clock, but he had changed it to an hour earlier. He sat up on his bed and reached down to grab his backpack. He had set everything in line with Rebecca yesterday at his place, now he could start focusing on why he was here. He pulled out his laptop and returned the bag to the floor against his bedside table. It was still attached to the device he had gotten from Four Eyes. He opened his laptop slowly and sections of the mansion came to life. He could see the kitchen. The cooks, chef, cleaners, and people washing dishes all looked like a colony of ants, all up early to have breakfast ready by six for Rob Holland and his wife before they left for work. All these people just for breakfast for three? Hunter looked at the hallways of the mansion. Compared to the busy kitchen, the hallways were li
With his hand on the door handle of Rob Holland's office door, Hunter looked down the corridor and then shut his eyes as he turned the door handle. It was open. Hunter stepped in. He left the door ajar. There was no one in the office. He looked around with his eyes for any cameras. There was none. He then looked over at the safe, it's red light on. He saw the keypad, waiting for a combination. All this he did in less than fifteen seconds and without stepping far from the entrance. He then touched the door handle of the office door and as he was about to step out, he came face to face with one of the bodyguards. “What are you doing in Mister Holland's office?” The man, gruff, asked him. “I came to look for sir and realized that he's not in, that's why I'm leaving.” Hunter answered back as casually as he could. “At five in the morning?” The man took a quick glance at his watch. “What's your name again?” “How long have you worked here?” Hunter asked him. “Hey, I'm asking the ques
Knock, knock! Hunter and Rebecca quickly stumbled to their feet as Hunter's room door opened. “Stay in there.” Hunter whispered quickly as he stepped out of the closet. Chloe was stepping into his room as he was closing the closet doors. She tilted her head curiously to get a look before Hunter closed the doors. “What are you doing in the closet?” Hunter shook his head as he walked towards her to take the tray of food. “Just looking for something to wear.” As he took the tray from her hands, Chloe's eyes lingered at his half-naked body. “Thank you, Chloe.” He said as he placed the tray on his bedside table. “You're welcome.” As soon as he turned back to face her, she looked away, but not in time because Hunter caught her watching him. “You work out?” She asked him as she tucked invisible hair behind her ear. “Uh... Actually, not anymore. But I'm trying to get back at it.” “We have a gym at Pink Haven,” She smiled at him. “I'm not really a gym person but if you want,
Hunter already knew how he'd get the two million dollars. He just had to pray and hope that Chloe wouldn't mess his plan up. He also had to make sure that he executed this precise plan on no other day but Sunday. That would be the only way that it would work out. Otherwise, he would get caught, someway. Today was Friday and he would waste no time, so he'd be executing the plan in two days. He's room door swung open. It was Becca standing at the door. Hunter looked at the time on the alarm clock. It was a minute past midnight. “Yes?” He asked her, looking from her pointy boots to her mini skirt and then the long-sleeved tube top she was wearing. “Let's go.” “Where to?” Hunter asked with a frown. “Are you insane? Look at the time.” She didn't have make up on, that only meant one thing— she was going somewhere she didn't want to be recognized. But this late? “Hey, I'm your boss. If I say, 'let's go' then we let's go.” She sounded nasty. Hunter sighed heavily and looked at the t
It was exactly five in the morning when Hunter's cell phone rang. He twisted in his sleep a few times, choosing to ignore his default ringtone which had come with the phone. He was worn out from last night. He let the phone ring on, hoping it was not her trying to go somewhere so early after coming home past three this morning. The ring tone eventually stopped. With his eyes still shut and him still under the duvet, Hunter cussed and turned. He knew he had to check his phone. He had to return her call. What was he thinking? He wasn't on vacation somewhere; this was a job. A twenty-four-hour job. “Shit...” He moaned, extracting only his hand from under the duvet and trying to feel for his phone on the bedside table. It began ringing again. The tips of his fingers finally found it. He grabbed his phone and brought it under the covers. He had to quickly shut his eyes as the bright light from the phone glared into his sleepy eyes. After a few seconds he opened them again, this time makin
Picture a child's face when you tell them you're taking them to the toy store and that they'll be allowed to choose and take whatever they want to and as much as they want to. Do you see those wide eyes? The raised eyebrows and huge smile? The smile with their mouth open and you can see their moist tongue. Now see their face fall apart slowly when you tell them that you've changed your mind and will no longer be taking them. First, they have that in-between expression, when they are not really sure whether you're just kidding, or you really mean it. And then after a while they finally start to see that you're not budging and is in fact serious. And then the tantrum begins. That was Rebecca's face when she saw what was going on. After a late night out and binge drinking those shots with Rita, Rebecca had thought she could wake up at six and hit the gym like she did four times a week. When she woke up with her head feeling like someone had hit her on the head with a sledgehammer while
"Rebecca?" Elizabeth asked. "Are you okay?" Hunter asked her. She looked mortified but managed to nodd her head. Sylvester took a few steps back and then was caught before he fell backwards. "Sir, are you okay?" One of his men asked him. Sylvester grunted. "I... am shot." He dropped the gun to the floor. The wound was on his left upper arm and was bleeding profusely. Rebecca's palms flung to cover her mouth as she watched the guards rush to provide Sylvester with medical attention. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to..." Rebecca was shaking. Hunter came to hug her. "It's okay, you didn't pull the trigger, he did." "But still—" "Let's get out of here." Hunter placed an arm around her and they quickely made for the gate. "Rebecca!" Elizabeth was crying behind them. "Get in, get in." Hunter opened the car door for her and then shut it. He could see cars approaching in high speed. "Shit..." There was only one way out of here, and it was the same way the cars were coming, the othe
Sylvester took out his phone and phoned Angelo. It rang and rang. Sylvester thought it would go to voicemail but then he picked up."Hello?" It was a female."Who is this?""You called me, who are you?""I got this number from the card at the reception. Is this not Angelo's gym?""This is Better Life Gym." She responded."Exactly." Sylvester said. "Can you get Angelo on the phone.""I don't know who that is, sir.""Cut the crap lady. I was there yesterday with Rob Holland, the billionaire. Remember me? And then we went down to basement to Angelo. Can you just pass him the phone.""Would you like to know about our membership packages?""Tell Angelo it's about Hunter King."The lady stayed quiet for a while and then sighed. "Hold on."Music started playing on the other side of the line."Shit..." Sylvester said in annoyance. He watched the guards dragging Hunter to the side building."Hello?" At last it was Angelo."It's Sylvester, head of security for Rob Holland and—""Get to the poin
"I guess there's no talking you out of this?" Joe asked. "Like she said, you're so damn stubborn. Really. Gosh!"They were sitting on the edge of bonnet of Fred's car.Hunter looked off into the pitch dark forest. "I don't have a choice, Joe." He whispered. "Look how we're living. Doing this gets all of you immunity.""Maybe there's another way." He placed a hand on Hunter's shoulder."What way?"Joe stared back at him desperately, the desperation was reflected back. "Uh... I don't know."Hunter's face fell and he looked the other way."But we can work something out together. Let's just tell your dad and I am sure he will work something out.""If he had a sollution, we wouldn't have spent almost a week in this cabin. The guy's been in hiding himself for how many years? From the very same person. It's hopeless Joe.""No—""This is the only way.""Getting yourself killed, really? That's the best you could come up with?" Joe scracthed his head roughly. "Maybe we can get money. Like milli
Hunter laid topless on their bed, facing the ceiling. He and Rebecca had just made love and she was now sleeping on top of his chest. "What are you thinking about?" She asked him. He smiled. "Nothing." "You sure?" She looked up at him. "Not thinking about 'sending me back to the palace'?" He frowned and then looked at her. "You were eavesdropping?" "I didn't intent to, but the walls of this cabin aren't that thick. I can hear George snoring right now." "Sorry if it sounded rough." He responded. "Sorry if it looks like I'm getting tired of always being locked up." Hunter scoffed. "Are you being sarcastic?" "Do you remember what you told me while we were still at the warehouse?" "What?" "You said that when everything was over, we'd live a normal life. That you'd stop that work and we'd be together like normal people." "Yeah..." "Well, you left your work, but I just want to know when we will be able to live like normal people again." Hunter sighed. "As soon as your dad pay
"We're not stabbing that man in the back." Rob said as he entered the passenger side of his all black SUV."You know, I don't get it, sir." Sylvester responded. "You're gonna keep choosing Hunter, even if it's over your daughter?" "I am not choosing him over Rebecca, I am trying to protect them both." Rob stood his ground. "Protecting him is not gonna get us far, sir."Rob thought for a few seconds and then responded. "I am not leaving him out to dry. He doesn't deserve it.""He's the reason we're in this mess in the first place. He kidnapped miss Rebecca." Sylvester started the car. "With all due respect, I think you're forgetting that.""You know, you keep saying 'with all due respect' but don't seem to be giving me any. I said we are not turning on Hunter and you should respect that.""My job is to protect your family. I wake up every morning and devote my life to you and your family, sir."Rob sighed and then pinched the space between his eyes and lowered his head. "I know, I kn
"Don't ever look for me because you will never find me. Take care of yours and I will take care of mine. Bye forever." That was the note that had come with the baby.Although George didn't understand the second sentence, he placed the note on their coffee table and took the wailing baby out of Stella's hands. It was his first time carrying a baby, and he feared holding him too tight or not holding him firm enough and drop him. As he tried to craddle the baby, his heart pounded. The baby had light brown skin and not much head hair. His mouth was pink and his wails were woarse."Shh shhh..." George tried walking around the room trying to sooth it. "Is it a boy or a girl?" He asked his mother."It's a boy." George looked at the baby's face and fell in love. "But how could she just leave you like that, little guy?" He asked."Because she's crazy that's why." Stella responded. "She knows you're studying full time and I am working full time. How are we gonna take care
Nathan had his forearms on the bar. "What can I get for you?" Bella said, bringing her arms to the counter, leaving just a small gap between their faces. "Bring me whatever you gonna have." Nathan gave her a smirk and handed her the money. She gave him a flirtatious smile and went away to get him something. When she came back she passed him their strongest whiskey. "Is that all you got for yourself?" He asked her. She raised the shot she had in her other hand. "Unfortunately, I'm on the clock. Cheers." She then drank up and was about to walk away but he grabbed her arm over the counter. "I just have a question." He said. "The girl that was working here before you, Rhita. Do you know where I can find her?" "Stop flirting with the customers and move on, Bella." Her boss yelled from the other side. She rolled her eyes at him. "I am not flirting with nobody!" She yelled back and then turned to Nathan as he let her hand go. "You just said she worked here before me. Don't
"It's almost 3 days since that little imbecile screwed us over, finding him can't be that fucking hard." Angelo was addressing Nathan and Sean. "The guy is a ghost, man, no social media, no family we can link him to, no girlfriend, well he took his girlfriend with him..." Nathan responded. "And friends..." Sean added. "Exactly. We can't track his phone because it's not on." Nathan shrugged. "What about his friends' phones?" Angelo enquired. "Joe's phone has been off too. They obviously ditched their phones." Sean said. "And the gay one?" Angelo asked. Nathan and Sean exchanged looks. "We don't have her number, bro." Sean replied. "Yeah." Nathan agreed. Angelo's top lip curved upwards. "You don't have her number? So that's why we don't find Hunter, that's why we just let it go and move on?" "How else are we gonna track her without knowing her number?" Sean asked. Angelo flung the back of his hand against Sean's jaw. Sean tumbled backwards and fell on top of Angelo's glass t
After sitting in silence, Walker began getting up. "You know, you would think that after all these years, talking about this would be easy but..." Hunter watched him slide his hands in his pockets and face away. Hunter didn't pressure him, he sat there waiting for Walker to continue the story. A few seconds later, "My mom convinced me that the best thing to do was to run away. To go live with my aunt in another town until the company considered my request to pay for my accomodation at the student residence." Walker took a long pause. "And I did.
