CHAPTER 5 Just One Night.

Laura found herself asleep on the sofa to the sound of her television playing. She suddenly woke up by a sharp door knock. She sat up and looked at her watch, 2 hours had actually passed and it was possible it must have been her best friend who was by the door. She opened the door and she soon started to cry.

Agness was behind the door and as soon as she saw her poor best friend , she gave her a big hug, her eyes brimming with tears. They took their sits in the living room and consoled each other for a couple of hours.

“Jayden must be a king of idiots! His stupid ass will regret ever cheating on you!”

Laura started to wipe down her tears off her cheeks. “ Its over between us now. I can’t believe I was naive not to see how much he disrespected me. I will never forgive him for that. He doesn’t deserve my tears!”

“ You’re right my love. He does not deserve your precious tears. Forget about him, my little goddess. I’m so sure there are a number of handsome responsible men who would line up for you. Cheer up! I am here now!” Agness gave another hug to her best friend . “ Get yourself ready we are going clubbing tonight. Who knows?! You might get laid and forget about him.”

After having their dinner home,Laura and Agness got themselves ready and hailed for a cab to take them to one of the most happening clubs in town. The club was very packed being a Saturday night so they went to the bar counter and sat on the stools there.

“What are you beautiful ladies taking?” The bartender was looking at Luara and Agness expectantly with a light humor in his tone.

“ 2 shots of tequila for a start, please.” With one gulp each, the order trundled down their throats.

“Can we now go for cocktails? Don’t worry you can drink your sorrows away, I’ll take care of you.” Agness was good at holding her alcohol than Laura so she knew she had to look out for her best friend who was already getting a little tipsy with just one shot of tequila.

“ Make two apple martinis, please.” Agness ordered the bartender. As they patiently waited for the bartender to return their second round of drinks, Luara couldn’t help but sigh. She wanted to flush away all her memories with Jayden.

“Two apple martinis as you ordered.” The bartender returned to us with our drinks, smiling politely. “ However, a generous gentleman instructed me to add the drinks to his bill.”

This comment surprised Laura and Agness as they had only been there for a few minutes at most. “See?! Some ‘generous man’ is already interested in you. Are you ready to get laid?” Agness teased Laura.

“Which generous gentleman?” Laura asked the bartender as she quickly looked around to see whoever suited the description.

“ He is right behind you.” It turned out that the generous gentleman was no other than Frank.

“What a pleasant surprise to meet you here looking cheerful.” He quirked his left eyebrow and casually moved his right hand out of his pocket so that could shake hands with Laura.

“ Thank you so much but you shouldn’t have.” Laura gave out a smirk and gave Frank a handshake.” Meet my childhood best friend Agness. She landed today.” Both Frank and Agness nodded towards each other and exchanged greetings.

“I am going to leave you two youngsters talk, Laura if you need anything please don’t hesitate to give me a call. I am just within the premises.” Agness winked at Laura as she left them and went to check up the man that was eyeing on her.

“So what brings you here?” Frank sat on one of the stools next to Laura rotating his body to face her so that he could give her his undivided attention, his dark brown eyes intensively staring back at her. Luara couldn’t help but admire the handsome man that was right in front of her.

“To drink away my sorrows and have a good night.”

“ You and I know that’s not how it works. Do you wanna talk about it though? Since we are no longer strangers so to say.”

“ l’d rather not, I want to be happy tonight.” She simply ignored the topic.

“ I respect your decision and since that’s the case, I have to take care of you and your friend.” he quickly chimed in.

Laura and Frank helped themselves with three drinks each. Being a lightweight, she already felt drunk with the amount of alcohol that was in her system. Frank on the hand, was doing just fine.

No sooner had Frank assured Agness that her best friend was in safe hands, than she allowed him to take Laura back home in his car as it was almost clocking to midnight.

When they got home, Laura led Frank to her bedroom and settled for the bed. Her tipsy self landing on his laps. She couldn’t help but started to kiss his neck while caressing his body. She reached for his lips, slowing forcing his month to slightly open so that her tongue can wrap around his. “ I have given you my reason. As much as I want to have you to myself, I don’t want to feel like I am taking advantage of you.” He mumbled quietly as he stood up from the bed facing Laura and pinching the bridge of his nose.

“I thought you would like a one night-stand with me.”

“Your thoughts are wrong.” He stared at her intensively as if he was looking directly through her soul.

“ I don’t sleep around with just any girl.”

Frank wasn’t a type of guy who would cheat on his partner or play around with other girls just to satisfy his sexual desires. However, the lady in front of him was already driving him crazy in love but he needed to wait for her to be in her right mind.

On the other hand, Laura was not enjoying the atmosphere anymore as she was already sexually frustrated and the mini argument between them just made things worse for her.

“ You don’t have to think on my behalf!” Laura got out of the bed taking the sheets with her to her bathroom.

She opened the taps of her bathtub until it was almost full to her liking for her to get in and cool off. She didn’t care whether Frank left the house or not.

When she was done with her bath, she went to her bedroom to dress up and to her surprise, she found Frank sitting on the sofa staring at his phone.

“I thought you’ve already left.” Laura murmured quietly as she got herself ready for bed smelling like lavender and roses. She spread her bed with clean beddings and was ready to tuck herself in. Frank stood up from the sofa and headed towards her, he sat just by the edge of the bed right next to her.

“ I am sorry your night didn’t go as expected.” Frank pleaded.

She wanted to respond by wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him down for a kiss but she restrained herself. “It’s okay, I do understand, I am sorry as well for making you think you’re a rebound.” Feeling so embarrassed with the way she acted.

Even though it was 3 AM, Frank insisted on taking his his leave and promised to check up on her later during the day.
