Mila Rae
Lucien stared at the name that had just burned itself into the flesh of his wrist.
The day had finally arrived... the moment he had spent years waiting for.
He smiled, knowing at that moment he was officially a guardian angel. A legacy he had been born into and had trained for all his life.
"Guys! It's time!" he announced proudly, running out of his bedroom and into the living room where his six best friends were seated.
"You're no longer a virgin?!" Crimson giggled at him.
"Not funny. As of this moment, I am officially a guardian! I was finally given a name!" he corrected excitedly, and his friends knowing how important this moment was for him, all congratulated and expressed their happiness for him.
"You go and see the lucky one and we will celebrate as soon as you return!" His friend Beau, stated with a grin.
"Thanks man! I'll see you guys soon! Wish me luck!" He replied before heading out.
He immediately let his wings unfurl from his back before soaring off and letting his instincts take over.
"Once you receive your name, your inner instincts will take over. It will lead you to who you seek and when you get close you will notice a smell and then a pulling sensation. When you no longer feel pulled and the smell is nearly intoxicating, you know you have found them."
His father's words replayed in his head.
He flew for hours before a sweet strong smell began filling his nose.
The pulling sensation started moments later, officially confirming that he was finally nearing her.
He soared quickly towards it, feeling this intense need to get there immediately. As if his very life depended on it.
As he lowered down, he noticed the large number of trees and one small house that sat alone at the top of a steep hill.
He made his way towards it, noticing the hill was really leading up to the edge of a cliff, where the house just barely sat on the edge of it.
At first the scenery looked beautiful, but the thought quickly vanished when he noticed the figure standing on the roof that hung right over the cliff itself.
He flew down closer, the smell intoxicating his nose and as he approached, he took in the appearance of what looked to be a young woman, with long wavy burgundy hair.
Her back was facing him, and he knew he had to approach her cautiously so as not to scare her, but just as his feet were nearing the roof behind her. He watched in absolute horror as she suddenly ran and jumped with all her might, right off the roof.
Complete and utter shock paralyzed him, and by the time he came to his senses and jumped after her, all he could see and hear was the large splash as her body plunged into the deep rough waters below.
~Mila's P.O.V~It was my 19th birthday and after spending my morning sleeping in, I was officially ready to start the day.I had just finished showering and getting dressed and was making my way towards my door when I suddenly overheard my parents fighting."We're not killing our daughter! Have you gone mad?!" my father yells, completely furious.I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion, fear spiking through my veins. What the fuck did he just say? It's official.I've finally gone mad."We have to! Don't you understand?! We MUST! If we don't right our wrong, we are going to go somewhere far worse than we could ever imagine, and we will be there for all eternity! ETERNITY, PAUL!" my mother shrieks and screams.A shiver runs down my spine, but I step closer, pressing my ear against the door as to not miss out on a single word."You think KILLING our DAUGHTER is going to fix it?! She's why WE'RE in this in the first place! There's no going back from what we did, and you WILL NOT touch a hair on
All I see is white. Pure blinding white. "Mila Marie Rae. Please, step forward." A loud masculine voice booms around me. I frown in confusion but do as it says. "Smile sweet girl. You're much too beautiful to have such a frown." A sweet feminine voice murmurs around me. A small gasp leaves my lips, as the white begins to vanish and suddenly, I find myself in a gold palace with the three most breath-taking people I have ever seen. Two drop dead gorgeous women and a godlike man. "Please tell me I have made it to heaven?" I ask in awe, making the women snicker sweetly as the man smiles at me charmingly. "Some may call it that, but no. This is my temple, and I’m sure you’re wondering why you’re here?" The women in the middle replies, and I nod my head. "Yes, but I’m more curious to who exactly you are." I state. "You may have heard of me. My name is Aphrodite. Goddess of love, beauty, and desire, and this is my son, Eros. God of sex, lust, and passionate desire. The one who can br
When I come to once again, I am no longer met with the sound of the ocean, and as I go to push myself up, I am met with a soft firm surface oppose to the sand I had been in before. I look around, taking in the light grey bedroom I have found myself in before slowly sliding out of the queen-size bed and making my way around the room, taking everything in. I had no idea where I was or how I got here, but as my eyes land on a photo propped up on the dresser, the familiar appearance of a handsome man quickly has my memories flowing back. As they flood my mind, my heart instantly begins to race as I am all too quickly reminded of the recent events and my last conversation with him before fainting. I continue strolling around the room as my mind tries to wrap around all the crazy information, I have learned in such a short span of time. Noticing a cracked door, I push it open more to reveal an en suite bathroom which I eagerly step into, taking a good look at my reflection in the mirror.
"That's impossible!" Damian shouts in disbelief. The tone of his voice causes me to flinch back, and Lucien gently presses me against him as he shoots a glare in his direction. "How about some food now?" he asks me, trying to change the topic but Beau quickly steps in. "Luce... we need to talk about this." he tells him. "How about I take her to the kitchen while you guys discuss this. Levi can fill me in later. Besides, I am the best cook in this house.” Salem suggests calmly, as he made his way over to us. "Alright…as long as you’re sure you don’t mind.” Lucien replies, making Salem let out a small chuckle. "Of course not. It would be my pleasure." Salem states happily, before holding out his hand for me to take. "Come on, Angel. I'll whip you up whatever your stomach pleases." he tells me, and I give him a smile as I try to stop myself from blushing at the pet name. I give Lucien one last glance, making sure he’s good to handle this situation without me, before taking Salem's
As I finished the remainder of my hot chocolate, the sound of the glass doors opening had me quickly looking back to see Levi walking into the room. "Hello, Love." he greets Salem, stepping towards him and wrapping his arms around him from behind. "Lee, perfect timing! I was just about to take Mila to go see the lake. Want to join us?" Salem chirps happily, as he spun around in Levi’s arms. I watched as he leaned up to peck Levi on the lips, and immediately frowned as I caught Levi’s eyes narrowing in at me oppose to being focused on Salem. "Already using your little gifts on my man are we, Minx?” Levi hisses at me, making my eyes widen in surprise. "Absolutely not! I don't even know how to use these gifts!" I defend, mortified at the accusation. He chuckles deeply at my reaction, clearly content with the reaction he had managed to get out of me. "Levi, leave her be. Are you coming along with us or not?" Salem says, shooting him a look that has him rolling his eyes and giving a
"You're so mini, I love it." Crimson giggled as she held me tightly while she flew us to the shopping area a few hours away by car, though with flying apparently was only 20 minutes.Since I still had no idea how to use my wings, Crimson carried me while flying us the whole way and I couldn't help but enjoy every moment of it.Before I know it though, we're at the mall and within a few hours we were both walking out with hands full of many bags. We had only focused on clothes and basic necessities but there was no doubt we got carried away with the clothes."I rented a car while you were trying the lingerie on, we will drive it back since we got so much. Did you want to change before we leave then we can show off our new outfits when we get home?" she asks, and I giggle."Hell yes!" I say and she grins. We got the keys to the rented car before loading it up with our bags and only taking out the things we were going to change into before going back inside to change."Damn kitten, are y
I wake up to the sensation of someone's fingers trailing down my arm, and slowly become aware of the warm body pressed against me. I let out a sigh of content as I snuggled into it some more, absorbing as much warmth as possible from it."Come on, Baby girl. Time to go get you some breakfast." I hear Lucien's familiar voice murmur softly."No." I grumble, wrapping my arms around his large torso and squeezing him tightly, making him let out a soft deep chuckle."You’re going to hurt your new best friend's feelings if you don't. Salem just spent the past two and a half hours making you a delicious breakfast." he tells me, making me open my eyes in surprise."Is that what he called me? Best friend?" I ask curiously, trying to conceal the excitement in my voice."That's what you called him, last night." he replies with a chuckle."I have to admit, I don't remember much of last night. It's mostly one big blur." I mumble, with a small frown."Don't worry, I took care of you the whole night.
"Descendant of Athena?" I question."Yes, the Goddess of wisdom and war. Beau isn't much into the war part, but he is able to strategize quickly when needed. As for wisdom, you probably won't meet many others as wise as him." she explains, and I nod my head as I take it all in."Are you all descendants?" I ask, making her smile."Yes. Some of us closer than others, and some with more abilities. Beau, for example is extraordinarily strong and incredibly wise, where Salem here has many traits due to being a descendant of Apollo. God of the sun, prophecy, healing, music, medicine and much more." she begins to explain."Apollo, has many different aspects to him and some of his descendants have parts of all and some as few as one. Salem happens to be best with healing and medicine, but he also has natural skills with music, dance and archery. That being said though, he has nothing to do with prophecies or the sun or a few other smaller aspects." she continues, and my eyes widen in surprise.
