The following morning, I woke up with my lower half burning with so much pain. The first thing I did was go to the bathroom to take a shower. When I was done I changed into a simple outfit, brushed my hair and went back to rest on the bed.

The two of us remained in our room for almost half the day. We were cuddling to our heart's content.

Mason didn't even bother to go down and bring us some food. Instead, he had to trouble Nelson who was still sleeping with his mate in their room. I laughed after seeing his unhappy face while handing my mate the tray.

I laughed, even more, when he glared my way before turning away, and rushing back to his room. Mason closed the door and returned to our bed. He carefully put the tray on the side table. He then climbed on the bed and took me in his arms. When I settled down comfortably he leaned close and pecked me on my forehead. The peck was light just like a butterfly kiss.

"How are you feeling? I hope I didn't hurt you or our pup last night." He

Early Monday morning, my mate received some bad news about my parents' disappearance. When he sent them away the last time, he had appointed someone to protect them from the shadows. With nothing to do, he returned to bear his punishment. When Mason called him to the office, I was with him and heard the news in person. I was shocked or more so worried to know about their predicament. Although I tried not to think about them, I still cared a little bit. A part of me still considered them my parents. How foolish can I be?These people I am so worried about can't rest with bad intentions filling their brains, trying everything in their power to k

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 44

"Marcy, your brother is quite upset with me," I told her while taking a seat beside her on her bed."What did you do?" "Nothing."She stares at me with that eye saying 'you are lying.'"Well, it's because of my stubbornness. He told me early this morning that he is the only one who has to go to look for my parents. Well the five of them have planned to leave me behind while they head on an adventure together." I explained to her, feeling quite mad with my mate, Nelson and my three brothers. They had the nerve to count me out. I really want to give them a good beating they will never forget in life.It was a few hours ago when he explained to me the reason he didn't want me to go with them. He said that it was because I am carrying our child. He doesn't want to endanger either of us.I understood where he was coming from or what he was so desperate to explain but it still didn't sit well with me. I also told him that I still want to accompany him but he still refused. His voice rose i

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 45

We set out in a jeep, the six of us in silence, my brothers and Nelson were squashed behind us, while I sat beside Mason in front of the car. My mate was holding the steering wheel whilst driving at a moderate speed, paying all his attention on the road. He wasn't very happy with my decision of going with them. The other guys noticed too but who cared. Who told him that when women get pregnant they become an invalid. The summer wind was busy fanning my hair, a few strands started flaring in the wind some blocking the view in front of me. I was wearing a blue knee-length dress, a grey coat thrown on top and some comfortable flat shoes that were warm and easy to walk with.Mason wore simple jeans and a t-shirt, with a leather jacket on top. He matched it with white sneakers. This time he styled his hair down, not a single strand falling on his face. All of it was pushed at the back, the ones at the sides tucked behind his ears. All the while, he has been in thought, presumably thinking o

"Well, I am sorry that I can't help you all. But I can only say that the day they left here they seemed anxious about something. I don't know what. At that time I asked them what was wrong, but Adonis didn't even bother to answer me. The next morning he just left without bidding me a farewell." Clarissa explained, one of her hands moving forward gently tapping her forehead with a white handkerchief."Are you friends with my father?" I asked feeling that the way she addressed him was too familiar. If they weren't friends then they were involved in some queer relationship."Yeah. When we were young, the two of us used to live in the same pack."She didn't say anything after and only looked at the bracelet in her hand, playing with it for a moment before she averted her gaze and reached for a cup of tea that had been served thirty minutes ago."How come he never mentioned he had a daughter before?" She suddenly asked appearing somewhat confused."We got separated and just reunited a few m

"So you mean if we were doing it you wouldn't have seen it through the window or heard any sounds through the door?" Mason asked. He seemed not embarrassed at all. I really wanted to kill him as well. Why am I surrounded by idiots? All the men in my life need a good beating."Stop talking." I ended up snapping at them when they continued discussing it. All five of them looked at me, their heated session dying down. Mason walked over to me and started pacifying me the other four just watched appearing as if they were watching an interesting show."Come on guys, do you have any plans on what we are going to do?" They all shook their heads, and after that, they joined the two of us on the bed. "Nonetheless we have to continue searching," Mason spoke, and the others agreed. "Where do we start?" I asked."We have no choice but to go to the city." Ace commented while playing with my hair. I hummed. I was feeling sleepy and felt somewhat fatigued. I didn't listen to the latter half of thei

I asked them before they could even settle their umbrellas at the back. The rain had just stopped. "The motel staff told us that there was indeed an attack a month ago." Ace informed us while balancing himself when the car started on, leaving the motel behind."They told us that on the third of that month, a couple came looking for a room to spend a night in. The couple appeared as if they were new to the city. They paid a huge sum for it and didn't even ask for the change. The staff was happy and treated them the best they could. One woman amongst the staff continued on saying that, after about eight hours after the couple settled in their room, they heard some sounds coming from there. Movements of someone fighting reached them from below the second floor. At some point, they heard a howl and some sorrowful screams of a woman. When they went to check they found no one in the room, only shards of broken glass were found on the floor. Everything else remained as it was." Ace finished

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 49

I remember sleeping in my mate's arms when suddenly I felt my body become lighter as I fell deep towards a bright surface. When I managed to step onto the ground, I looked around everywhere trying to find where I was. I pinched myself on the cheek trying to find out if this was a dream or not. When I felt nothing, my finger deeped into something cool, not anything tangible. I knew that this wasn't the real world and also that I was dreaming. I then started wondering why it felt so real. The place I was standing on was a hilly area, with long grass that reached my knees. It was a field stretching out as far as my eyes could see. I circled in one place looking at the vast land trying to find someone who I could talk with. That was when I spotted a small figure from afar. I couldn't decipher what it was. But it was definitely not a human. The thing swerved in the grass heading towards me. I didn't think of running and just stood still until it stopped in front of me.My eyes couldn't mo

MASON'S POVEverything was alright until the moment I woke up holding my mate in an embrace. She was still, with beads of sweat on her forehead. I brought my hand to her head wanting to feel her temperature. That was when I realized that something was wrong with her."Little one, wake up." I tried, gently shaking her on the shoulder. At this time she would have woken up already but today she was just sleeping there seeming flat. At first, I thought she was perhaps tired and wanted to rest more. But if that was the case she would've grumbled something in her sleep or something.I got down from the bed and reached for a glass full of water. I dipped my hand it and cupped some water which I sprinkled on her face hoping to wake her and take her to see a nurse or something. She didn't even flinch or make a move to indicate that the water had affected her. I started freaking out and shouted for her brothers and Nelson to come to help me.It didn't take even a minute for the four of them to s

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 101

"Ok. I let it go. Only this time. But if you make her cry even for a little bit. I will definitely come after you." I breathed out a sigh of relief and thanked him with a happy smile on my face. My brothers were happy for me as well. We had a family meal and then they gave us some time to talk to each other. We were allowed to go to my room, Adam looked around just like me when I visited his house. He complimented my room and took me in his arms and hugged me tightly as if we had separated for a long time.I was reminded of that dream and also held him tight just the same. "I love you so much." He confessed making my heart melt. I thought back to all the times I wished for someone to say this to me. Now that the time has come it seems so surreal. I just can't believe it. It's like a dream come true. "I love you too," I spoke of the words that I have just realized after meeting this man. He made me believe. He made me say it to him without holding back. I truly meant this. I don't know

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 100

After breaking the kiss, our eyes were locked on each other, the scarlet colour and oceanic greenish coulor reflecting in each other. I watched as he licked his lips, his pink tongue with a tich of red colour. "Wow. I can't wait to have the main with." He spoke while bringing his other hand to put my hair back in order. He arranged some behind my ear and gave me a perk on the lips and another one on my cheek. "I made the right choice waiting for you sweetheart. I can't imagine losing you to those vile creatures. I am the luckiest person in the whole world." I felt my cheeks hit up. This wasn't enough but it would be too fast to get into it right away. I leaned into his arms and rested my head on his shoulder. I took in his refreshing fragrance as if I was standing in the middle of a field full of blooming flowers. It was too exquisite and good to take in. Adam also rested his head on the nook of my neck, his nose was sniffing there, hot air brushing there, making the sensitive skin ti

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 99

After locking myself in the room, I lay on the bed looking far up at the ceiling above thinking of ways that could convince him to have a proper talk with me. I wasn't going to give up on him. I listened in from the wall just beside my head but I couldn't hear anything from the other side. I guess he was really sleeping. I ended up sleeping as well, hoping to talk to him early in the morning before he gets a chance to run away from me. As planned I woke up at about four O'clock in the morning and cleaned up before waiting for him in front of his room. I only waited for less than an hour before he opened the door after freshening up. His hair was still dripping wet and he had tied it on one side letting it flow on the shoulder as some fell on the front of his chest. He still wore his mask, probably in an attempt to continue hiding his face from me. He stilled the moment he saw me standing at his door, with a grin on my face. I hurried to put my hand on the door frame, stopping him from

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 98

Two days passed after that miserable encounter. And I haven't felt like I am being myself at all. My life has turned normal. It is now that I realize that normal is a boring word. My mind keeps on going back to those words he spoke upon our separation. I feel somewhat guilty for pushing him like that. Even though I didn't see his expression, I could actually guess how he looked. If we meet again, I will definitely say sorry to him. That is if I even recognize him. He had worn a mask all the while I spent at his home. He didn't even let out a clue that led to his name or anything. I don't even know what he really is. These days I have been listless because of this matter. My family noticed but there is nothing they could do about it. I never tell them what is wrong with me. I am going to school today, hopefully, by seeing Will I will be able to cheer up again. I was driven to school by Steve. He dropped me off in front of the school gate. I had texted Will telling him that I will be a

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 97

"Hmm... you can't believe me? Well, I knew it would be like this. That is the reason I made sure to prepare beforehand." I watched him summon one of his people who came with an envelope which she handed over to the strange man. The girl didn't even look at me. So I didn't really get to see her appearance only that she was wearing black and also that her skin was too pale for my liking. And as usual, I couldn't decipher her own species. I moved my gaze away from her and settled them on the envelope in his hand. I wanted to see what was sealed inside it. He ripped the seal off and then took a few pictures out and handed them over to me without even looking at them. It was as if he had looked at them countless times. I accepted them and started looking at them one by one, my breath hitching when I realized what these pictures were. I wonder who had taken them. During those days I never sensed anyone following me. No, maybe I didn't even look to sense anything. These were the pictures of

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 96

A part of me was excited, my blood ran around my veins some rushing to my head. I could vividly picture his face in my imagination. I wished to turn around and see his face. Another part of me was very scared. I knew that this man was very dangerous. And also that he was here for my life. If not why then would he waste his time watching my every move each and every day? "No, I guess you are not that scared. Then are you... Perhaps happy to see me?" He asked, his figure appearing right in front of me. He was too close, I could actually see his pale white skin that he poorly hid behind the mask. I didn't get to glimpse into much detail because he had already taken a step back. My brain had not registered the last sentence he had spoken. I then recalled it and blushed lightly before hiding it not wanting this stranger to see. I didn't bother saying a single word to him. My mouth remained zipped. I didn't forget to keep on trying to move. I was sure that he had done something to me."Why

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 95

"Mom, I... I am only seeing its blueness. There is no cloud up there, or even a bird flying up there. Why do you think it's different from the other days?" I couldn't help but ask her. She faced away from it then turned to look at me. She had a smile on as she patiently explained her point of view."Hmm, it's different because this is another day. It's not the same as it was yesterday. It does not matter if there were clouds up there or not. The sky of today will never be like yesterday. The same applies to us, Alex. I know that you are still anxious about what happened four days ago in the forest but that was then darling. Leave it behind and brace yourself and face this day with a smile. I know that there might be some looming danger out there but you don't have to be afraid of it. Do you hear? Don't beat yourself too much. You will definitely get the answer in the end." After she was done talking she stood up and took a few steps before stopping in front of a flowerpot on the sidewa

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 94

While going back I bumped into Steve who was about to see my parents. He looked haggard I don't know what was wrong with him but I knew that the news he was going to deliver to my parents wasn't going to be good. He didn't even bother to say sorry or to reply to my greetings for I was already knocking on their door. He didn't even give himself time to stop and take a breath, his knuckles were busy colliding with the door making loud noises probably alerting mom and dad who were discussing about my situation. I didn't stay too long to see him continue harassing the door for I returned to my room and took a glass of water before downing it down my stomach. At first, I was nervous to tell them about this matter but now I feel somewhat relieved that I am no longer the only one who knows about this. However, the anxiety hasn't worn off for there is a difference between many people knowing this and actually getting out of the mess. It would have been better if the one behind this is caught.
