Today was a big day. I was scheduled for an ultrasound to check on the baby and determine exactly how far along I was. Xavier had insisted on keeping everything a secret, so we planned to leave in the evening to a private hospital, avoiding the pack hospital altogether. His caution was understandable; he didn’t want anyone to discover what I was.

We had to confirm the doctor’s suspicions that I might give birth earlier than the typical nine months for werewolves and humans. If that turned out to be true and the pack doctor found out, it could spell disaster for us.
