CHAPTER 102

--Alyssa--

Why was I here? I turned around and, thankfully, didn't see the guard. I needed to leave; there was nothing here for me. Just as I was about to turn away, I heard my name.

“Alyssa,” the voice was so familiar, even though it had been absent from my life for so long.

I turned, and my mother walked out the door, running towards me. The gate opened instantly, and she dashed out like a desperate person.

Before I could react, I was in her arms. Everything happened so quickly.

“I knew you would come to me, dear. I miss you so much,” she said, kissing my cheek and face.

My heart warmed, but I knew I had to leave.

“I have to go,” I said, and her face fell, making my heart ache. This was not how I wanted our meeting to be. Hell, I didn’t even know I was coming here; my subconscious brought me here.

“So soon? Did you not come to see me?” she asked, wiping away a tear that had fallen from her face.

Her touch was gentle, her hands trembling slightly as she brushed the tear away. I could
