Chapter Five- Looking for Rogues

I left Megan in good hands with Julie last night and I went to my office to contact my best trackers and inform them to continue searching for any rogues and I want at least one alive to question. We need to figure out the reason for them to slaughter a whole pack.

After sending out the messages I went upstairs to take a shower and go to bed. After a long-troubled night, I lay in bed looking up at the ceiling thinking about my mate. I promised myself to give her time. But this damn bond I am with a constant hard-on. I already released myself in the shower last night while thinking of my lovely mate. Yet I woke up with another damn hard-on. I don’t know how long I can stay away from my mate as each day the bond continues to grow.

Since I can no longer sleep, I get up and shower again and dress in jeans and a button-up shirt with the sleeves folded to my elbows, and head to my office to get a little work in before breakfast.

As I am working, I hear close to my office door a soft female voice asking someone, “Can you please direct me to the Alpha’s office?”

“Yeah, it is that double door right over there,” I hear what sounds like one of my warriors say.

I then hear the same female say, “Thank you,”

It wasn’t but a second later when I hear a knock on the door. It didn’t take a genius to figure out it was my mate as her scent was quite strong. I close my eyes and inhale before answering, “Come in.”

The door opens and she peers in at me, “Am I bothering you, Alpha?”

“No.” I shake my head, “Not at all. Come in.” I say with a smile.

She walks in and closes the door behind her then walks to one of the chairs in front of my desk and sits down.

I hear her taking a deep breath as she looks down at her hands in her lap. “I want to say, Thank you, for the beautiful send-off for my family. I didn’t expect you to do it. I am very grateful.”

“Of course, I would have done for any Alpha and family. It is the least I can do for a brave man and the soul of a young pup. I am really sorry for your loss. I cannot come close to understanding that kind of pain.”

I see tears gathering in her eyes, yet she stayed strong as she said, “Look I know we are mates, and for some reason, I don’t understand as to why the Moon goddess decided to mate me as soon as I lose my family.” She sighs before looking up, “It is not for me to question the Goddess but, I need time. Can you respect that?”

“Megan, I have no plans to force myself on you. I promise to respect you, and yes, take all the time you need. All I ask is to use the time and get to know me, Ok?”

She nods, “Ok. Thank you.” She gets up and walks out and I sit back in my seat of course, with another hard-on.

I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and decide to go down to the gym and work out this sexual frustration.

In the gym, I change into my workout clothes and hit the weights. I wasn’t the only one there working out. My Gamma Gary was there.

“Hey, man. You are working extra hard. Anything wrong?” He asks me as he runs on the treadmill.

“Just some frustration. I guess you will be seeing me here more than usual in the weeks to come.”

He snickered, “By chance does it have anything to do with that beautiful young Luna from the other Pack?”

“It has everything to do with her.” I sigh, “It’s so frustrating having a mate and cannot act upon it.”

“I wouldn’t know. I have yet to find mine.” He grinned at me.

“Well once you do, then you will understand,” I say doing sit-ups.

“Well, I hope to be blessed soon. I have been waiting for the goddess to send me a mate for some time now.”

“Just be patient, it will happen,” I said deciding on the treadmill next.

“I do suspect who my mate is, but she is only sixteen and barely got her wolf. I won’t know for sure until she turns eighteen.” He tells me.

I look over t him as we run together, “Is it, Carla Reynolds?” I ask, “I have noticed you watching her more these days.”

He smiles, “Yeah, I feel a strong pull towards her. I believe she will be my mate.”

“Well, if that is the case then I am happy for you. She is beautiful and would be a perfect mate for you.” I smile at my Gamma.

He smiles back, “Yeah, that she will be.”

After my work out Gary and I showered in the locker room and changed our clothes. We walked together up to the dining room for breakfast when her smell hits me. I was pleasantly surprised to see her down enjoying breakfast and sitting where my Luna should be sitting. I sat next to her at the head just as an omega set a plate down in front of me. I looked over at her and smiled.

“It is a nice surprise to see you down here,” I say as I take a bite of my ham and eggs.

“I decided it was time for me to officially meet the Pack as they did offer support at the send-off even though they didn’t know my mate and son. I was touched by how many showed up to honor them.” She said as she took a sip of her coffee.

I smiled at her, “We care for our kind. And when one or more falls we feel it. I am glad most of my pack members show up to show their respects.”

“What of the fallen in my Pack? What happened to their bodies?”

“We had a send-off for them as well. I would not have left them to rot. That would have been disrespectful of me. And I am not like that.” I say picking up my mug.

“I appreciate that. I really do. There were many good wolves in my pack, and I will miss them all.”

Just then I get a mind-link from my head warrior Carl, ‘Alpha, we managed to capture a rogue. We are taking him down to the cells now.’

‘Great, I will be right down.’
