Lunaria's POV.

I stood there, feeling frustrated and trapped as Anthony tried to convince me of his love. His words were like a never-ending storm, battering me with emotions I didn't want to feel. I had made it clear to him that I loved someone who he knew was Nathan and that his feelings and everything he was trying to confess to me were meaningless but he wouldn't listen to me.

I sighed boiling in anger as he stood before me, desperately begging as if begging was enough to make me love him when I didn't.

"Lunaria, please," He said, his eyes pleading as he held my hands.

"I love you. I'll do anything to be by your side. We can work through this together. I will make sure you never regret giving me a chance to tell you how much I feel about you?” He continued.

“No, Anthony.” I shook my head, feeling overwhelmed at his confession and refusal to accept how I felt about him in return.

"Anthony, I...I don't know what to say,” I stammered, shaking his hands off mine.

Nathan's POV.As I sat on the park bench with Lunaria, I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, she would choose me over Anthony.Maybe she would see that I was the one who truly cared for her, not that possessive and obsessive Anthony. Even though I have given her a go-ahead with Anthony if he was the one she needed. But deep down, I knew that was a lie. I did want her to choose me, I wanted her to say that she didn't care about anything Anthony had said, even with all the evidence he had presented. I wanted her to say that she loved me, and only me. I wanted her not to give up and rather hold my hands with an assuring gaze telling me it was me and not Anthony, that even with all he had presented, she no longer had him in her heart, that she would stay by my side and choose me all over again.Instead, Lunaria turned to me and broke down in tears, resting her head on my shoulders as she sobbed uncontrollably.I felt a pang of sadness and helplessness as I wrapped

Lunaria's POV.I woke up to the sound of Anthony's voice, calling out to me from downstairs. I groggily got out of bed, feeling a sense of dread wash over me. He came too early and it irritated me because I didn't want to go with him but since I had made the decision, I had to carry my cross. As I dressed the bed and prepared to go downstairs to meet Anthony, I thought about Nathan, the fact he hadn't called and let me go without trying to stop me pissed me off and I questioned the feelings he claimed he had for me. I didn't want to face him that morning, not after what had happened the day before. I felt like I had betrayed him like I had chosen Anthony over him even as I was angry at him for agreeing to let me go easily. After I was done, I made my way downstairs, trying to avoid eye contact with Nathan who I met on my way. But I could feel his eyes on me, boring into my skin as they followed my every step and movement causing me to be overly sensitive and uncomfortable. I knew he w

Author's POV.Anthony's face fell as he processed Lunaria's words. Did she really dislike him that much? He felt a pang of hurt and rejection, but he quickly pushed it aside. He couldn't afford to let his emotions get the better of him."Hey, I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable," Anthony said, trying to sound sincere. "I'll sleep in another room tonight. We can talk about this in the morning, okay?"Lunaria nodded, still looking upset. Anthony felt a twinge of guilt for lying to her, but he told himself it was necessary. He had to keep up the charade, at least for now.As soon as Lunaria was asleep, Anthony’s face twisted in anger and frustration as he stormed out of his house.Lunaria's rejection had been a blow to his ego, and he couldn't shake off the feeling of humiliation. Lunaria's POV.The next morning, I went through Anthony's kitchen, searching for something, anything edible. The kitchen was a disaster, with empty shelves and a fridge that seemed to be empty except for a few expired items.I couldn't help but wonder how Anthony had been living his life. Had he always been this careless, this reckless? How did he get us the food we ate yesterday? Maybe he had ordered it and made it look like it was home made food. I thought he had domestic staff who takes care of his home and leave every evening.I sighed, knowing I had to do something. I couldn't just sit around and wait for Anthony to provide for us. I didn't want him to do that for me and my son. I needed to take matters into my own hands.I glanced at Liam, who looked happy and was quietly playing with his toys. I knew I had to do this for him, for us."I'm going to the grocery store, Liam," I said, trying to sound cheerful. "Want to come with me?"Liam's face lit up, and he happily nodded.I smi

Lunaria's POV.The room fell into an eerie silence, and the only sound to be heard was the exclamation of surprise that had escaped one of the elders. I couldn’t believe what I had just heard. In a calm voice full of resolve, Anthony had declared himself as Liam’s father. What was he thinking? Was he even thinking? Was he even supposed to be in this meeting talking about his involvement into Liam’s life?I was so mad I couldn’t do anything but stand in my place with my insides burning with rage.I turned to look at him, my heart hammering in my chest from shock and the confusion that was taking over me.Why would he say that? What the hell was he thinking? The elders all looked stunned, their eyes glancing around at each other in disbelief and suspicion. The oldest among them narrowed his gaze slightly before speaking in a sharp tone. “Enough of this pretense! If you really are Liam’s father, why have you held your tongue until now? Why wait until the throne is at stake?”Anthony met

Author's POV.Anthony’s frustration got the better of him as he shouted at the elders in the grand hall, his voice booming with anger and desperation. “You’re all wrong! King Damon made his choice! He named Lunaria as his heir for a reason, and it isn’t your place to question it now!”“You should be quiet, young man,” the elder in charge said with a harsh tone as Anthony laughed.“You all asked questions and got answers, but because it isn’t fitting your narrative you try to toss it out like it isn’t important. How dare you do such a thing? Do you even know how hurtful that is? She was given the throne by the late king. Some of you here know about it but you all act like hypocrites because he is dead. Have some respect for him. He might be fine physically but his words and rules still lives on.”“If you don’t shut it, I’ll make sure you regret it,” Lillian growled as he turned to her.“You better be grateful I save lives and not take it, or you would be the first person on my list to

It's now I am realizing how foolish I had been for treating Lunaria the way I did, I feel so bad,” Anthony said with sadness.Agatha scoffed as she looked at him, her expression remained calm, but a hint of amusement danced in her eyes and she crossed her arm across her chest, facing him."Well, be prepared to lose her for good then, Anthony," she warned, her voice filled with malice as she glared at Anthony."Not only will Lunaria return to Nathan, but she'll also hate you for deceiving her. Author’s POV. “Where is the maid in charge of serving the Alpha Breakfast?” Sarah thundered immediately as she entered the kitchen. It was past lunchtime and the food she saw looked like it belonged to the Alpha. It was untouched and she wondered if they had prepared a bad meal Nathan couldn't eat. “I am the one Ma’am,” a maid said and rushed forward, bowing her head as she stood before Sarah. “Why did I see untouched food in the dining? Did the chef prepare a bad breakfast that the Alpha couldn't eat?” Sarah inquired, glaring angrily at the maid. “I am sorry Ma’am but the Alpha refused to have breakfast and asked us to keep it on the dining table when we managed to beg him to agree but he never attempted to eat it,” the maid in charge of Nathan’s food that morning apologized. “Is that supposed to be an excuse? If the Alpha couldn't make it to the dining, why do you have legs? Why can't you take the food to him?” Sarah questioned, her anger increasing. “It's because unless

Author’s POV. Lunaria's hands trembled as Mendy helped her into the wedding attire and packed her hair in a bun. Just as Mendy stepped back to admire her handiwork, a soft knock at the door interrupted the moment. Mendy smiled and moved to answer it, she opened the door to find a young servant holding a small elegant envelope. "For the bride," the servant said, bowing slightly. “Thank you.” Came Mendy’s voice as she closed the door and walked over to Lunaria to hand her the envelope. Lunaria's heart skipped a beat as she took the envelope, her fingers tracing the seal. She recognized the symbol – Nathan's family crest. A gentle smile spread across her face as she opened the envelope and withdrew the letter inside. The poem, written in Nathan's own hand, spoke of his love for Lunaria, of the journey they had shared, and of the promises he made to her. It spoke of the moon goddess's blessing, of the love that had grown between them, and of the future they would build together. T

Author’s POV.After everyone had disappeared for the day, leaving me, the elders, my stepmother, and my sister. They marched onto the throne room to confront me but I stood tall, my voice firm as I addressed Agatha.“Was it Sarah that gave you the Heirloom?” Agatha asked me."No, Sarah did not betray us, Agatha. Anthony found the real heirloom and exchanged it with the fake one."Nathan's face was still twisted in rage when he walked in and saw Agatha interrogating me, but as I waved at him to indicate that I was okay, I could see the tension in his body begin to ease. I turned to him, placing a calming hand on his arm as he came to stand beside me."Nathan, it's okay. The truth is out now."I turned back to Agatha, my eyes narrowing."Since everything is clear now, I will decide the fate of all the offenders." I moved to the throne, my voice ringing out across the room."According to our law, Agatha, you would be killed for your crimes. And Lillian, you would be reduced to a maid."T

Killing her mother wasn't enough, she had the guts to kill her own husband for her daughter and she was okay with it.Nathan stepped forward, placing a calming hand on Lunaria's shoulder."It's okay, Lunaria. It's going to be alright. I am here for you, it's going to be alright,” Nathan assured.Lunaria took a deep breath, trying to calm down.
