Lunaria's POV.

I felt a pang of sadness and regret as I drove away from the hospital. I had only wanted to help Nathan and his pack, but now I had made things worse. Sarah's words echoed in my mind.

"You've made the people lose trust in Nathan." I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was a curse to him.

As I thought about Nathan, my heart ached. I liked him, but maybe it was best to avoid him for now. I didn't want to bring him any more trouble and I didn't know how he would feel when he set his eyes on me again. It would be better if I stay away until the matter is resolved but what kind of person would I be if I just left him hanging? No, I didn't even need Sarah to talk to him, I was supposed to face him myself and make him see the reasons. So far he didn’t act like someone who wouldn't understand what happened but still, I couldn't conclude.

I couldn't live with myself if I didn't try to make things right.

When I got home, I met Liam playing with Mendy who was teaching him some l

Nathan’s POV.I was still standing in the hallway, my heart thrumming from the encounter with the crowd. The tension itself was high, but I hardly noticed any of it. Lunaria had gone against my will and stepped outside and now their anger had turned on her instead. I bit back my frustration. It wasn’t her fault they’d all so easily raised their rage against me but I had wanted to protect her and instead she had almost caused a riot.I had left her behind, feeling for once that she would do what I asked her to even when left alone and unmonitored. She could have stayed in the office.Well, it was too late now. All I had to do was go back in and make sure she was okay and safe. But when I arrived at the office, it was vacant. Confused, I looked around. Where could she be? She wouldn’t have left without telling me – or at least, I had thought that.“Where’s Lunaria?” I turned to Sarah who was standing by the doorway and asked her.Sarah gave me a little, almost smug smile. “She left.

Lunaria’s POV.Nathan surprised me by showing up here and hugging me. With everything that had gone wrong, I had expected him to be furious. It was one thing to be mad at someone over little things but I had nearly killed his entire pack, I deserved to actually be sorry for that and I couldn’t imagine him being here with me.And why was he even here? This thing I did baffled me even more with each passing second and I held my breath while staring at him, looking for any sign of anger or resentment in his eyes. When the chaos with his pack had ended when my antidote hadn’t worked, there was no doubt in my mind he would explode. I almost couldn’t bear to think about the condemnation, the insults, whatever weight he’d throw behind what was rightly my fault. It was my fault the antidote hadn’t worked.I had gone through everything and seen how it was my fault and yes someone had definitely tampered with my results. The antidote I had created was a lot different from what had been given

Nathan’s POV.Lunaria's sudden question about my father threw me off balance even though I was expecting her to ask about him sooner or later. With what had happened in the pack this morning, I was certain that was the reason she had decided to ask of my father. The silence that invaded our midst after her sudden question made me start racking my head, thinking of the perfect tale to say to her. “I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked about him?” Her voice made me snap my head in her direction and at once I grabbed her shoulder, peering right into her eyes. “Why? Is it because I didn't give you an immediate answer?” I huffed. “Come off it, you have the right to ask whatever question you want to,” I added. “But it seems to have brought memories which don't make you pleasant. The look on your face says it all.” She added.Flashing her a coy smile, I nodded, “You're right! Indeed your question brought back memories.”“Each time I think of how my father died, I always blame myself for bei

Author’s POV.Sarah was furious and no matter how much she tried to calm herself, she just couldn't do it. “Why are all my plans not falling through?” She groaned, digging her teeth into her lips, clenching and unclenching her fists in anger. The antidote was supposed to be effective but she had altered it just because she wanted to put her in a bad light before Nathan but it didn't turn out the way she had expected. Shutting her eyes tightly, she tilted her head to the side as anger ran through her veins. “What am I going to do now? Why is it so hard for me to end it all, and cut Lunaria off? Who the hell is she?” She groaned, hitting her foot against the floor in anger. Apart from altering the antidote, she was the rumormonger who went around spreading rumors about Lunaria killing the late Alpha. “It should have worked! That could have been where she would have met her death but she walked out of the building without any aid.” Plopping on the couch, with her fingers going up

Author's POV.Lillian stood before her mother, her face contorted with anger and frustration. She couldn't imagine that Lunaria was still standing as their family’s heir after everything they had done. According to her, Lunaria didn’t deserve the position because she never worked hard for it.While she was away for over nineteen years, she was with her mother in the lycan king’s Palace, doing everything possible to become qualified as his heir. There was no book her mother didn't make her read nor classes she didn't take. Her mother had made sure she registered in her head that she was going to be the heir from onset so she was mad that her mother’s words only turned out to be a fallacy.“Lilian, calm down,” Agatha begged trying to hold Lilian but she pushed her hands off, moving backwards."I’m disappointed in you mother. Despite all the pains and the sleepless nights you put me through for years, robbing me of my childhood and sleep, I ended up like this, watching my acclaimed step

Nathan's POV.As I prepared for the day, Lunaria's message brought a sense of relief. The antidote was ready and I couldn't wish for anything else than that. At least the provision of the new antidotes will reduce the chaos the previous one that failed had caused and the pack members will learn to remove Lunaria from their mouth for a while.Knowing I had no time to waste, I contacted Gideon who showed up immediately.“Leave for the address I will send you, Lunaria just informed me the new antidotes are ready and you have to go fetch them,” I explained, putting my full trust in him.“Yes, Alpha. I will do just that, “ Gideon replied.“Remember, you have to be careful so the antidotes will not be tampered with, Lunaria worked hard for it and we don't know who was behind the disaster that happened the last time,” I said.“Yes Alpha, I will make sure I see to your command,” Gideon replied determinedly and quickly sent Gideon to retrieve it, knowing that every moment counted, the quicker

Nathan's POV.The tension in the council chamber was suffocating, but I refused to back down. “You can't do that Alpha, your father will be angry at you. How could you consider bringing back the murderer of your father?” one of the elders thundered.“What? Murder? You are still calling her a murderer. Haven't I mentioned that it was all a misunderstanding then that Lunaria isn't the one who murdered my father,” I said calmly, staring at them trying not to lose my temper.“What makes you think we will believe what you are saying when she ran away and never stayed back to clear her name? If she hadn't done it, do you think she would have left?” another Elder questioned.“That was because she was scared of being killed. She had already been labeled to be executed and should she have stayed back to die for a crime she didn't commit?” I retorted as my anger started flaming.“Alpha, I am not sure you are in your right senses. That evil woman had placed a curse on you, she had bewitched you

I had been restless and pacing at home, wondering how it was going.I would check my phone and recheck it all over again expecting to see Nathan’s call already but would be disappointed when none came. • Her Alpha Ex-Husband's Regret    0180- EPILOGUE.

Author’s POV. Lunaria's hands trembled as Mendy helped her into the wedding attire and packed her hair in a bun. Just as Mendy stepped back to admire her handiwork, a soft knock at the door interrupted the moment. Mendy smiled and moved to answer it, she opened the door to find a young servant holding a small elegant envelope. "For the bride," the servant said, bowing slightly. “Thank you.” Came Mendy’s voice as she closed the door and walked over to Lunaria to hand her the envelope. Lunaria's heart skipped a beat as she took the envelope, her fingers tracing the seal. She recognized the symbol – Nathan's family crest. A gentle smile spread across her face as she opened the envelope and withdrew the letter inside. The poem, written in Nathan's own hand, spoke of his love for Lunaria, of the journey they had shared, and of the promises he made to her. It spoke of the moon goddess's blessing, of the love that had grown between them, and of the future they would build together. T

I repeated my request, but she didn't move.Slowly, she raised her head, her eyes filled with tears."I...I can't bear working under you as a slave," she said, her voice trembling.I was taken aback by her words. I hadn't thought about how she would feel, being forced to serve me after everything that had happened."Lillian, I..." I started to say, but she cut me off."I would rather not be alive at all than be a slave," she said, her voice firm. And with that, she grabbed a sharp object from the nearest shoulder and pierced herself.I screamed, shocked by her action. Mendy rushed to her side, trying to stop the bleeding."L

Author’s POV.After everyone had disappeared for the day, leaving me, the elders, my stepmother, and my sister. They marched onto the throne room to confront me but I stood tall, my voice firm as I addressed Agatha.“Was it Sarah that gave you the Heirloom?” Agatha asked me."No, Sarah did not betray us, Agatha. Anthony found the real heirloom and exchanged it with the fake one."Nathan's face was still twisted in rage when he walked in and saw Agatha interrogating me, but as I waved at him to indicate that I was okay, I could see the tension in his body begin to ease. I turned to him, placing a calming hand on his arm as he came to stand beside me."Nathan, it's okay. The truth is out now."I turned back to Agatha, my eyes narrowing."Since everything is clear now, I will decide the fate of all the offenders." I moved to the throne, my voice ringing out across the room."According to our law, Agatha, you would be killed for your crimes. And Lillian, you would be reduced to a maid."T

Author’s POV.Lunaria's anger boiled over, threatening to consume her. She took a step forward, her hands clenched into fists. It took everything within her not to shred Agatha into pieces. How could she be so wicked and callous, killing her own husband and trying to take the throne from her rightful place? Killing her mother wasn't enough, she had the guts to kill her own husband for her daughter and she was okay with it.Nathan stepped forward, placing a calming hand on Lunaria's shoulder."It's okay, Lunaria. It's going to be alright. I am here for you, it's going to be alright,” Nathan assured.Lunaria took a deep breath, trying to calm down. She knew that if she did anything against the law, her rulership might be withdrawn, and her father's wish would never come to pass. She had to keep her emotions in check, no matter how hard it was.Agatha's face paled as she realized she was doomed. Sarah's revelation had exposed her secrets, and she knew she had to think fast. But nothing did. She stood up, wondering if she had done something wrong, and sat down again. Still, nothing happened. The heirloom remained dull and lifeless on her neck, refusing to shine.Lunaria was then called forward. She walked calmly to the throne and sat down. As soon as she did, the necklace around her neck shone bright. But that was not the only surprising thing - Lunaria's head began to transform, taking on the features of a Lycan queen. The room fell silent, with everyone staring in shock at Lunaria. Then, in unison, they bowed down to her. Lillian's face turned red with rage and disappointment.“This is a lie, you wore me the fake Heirloom,” Lilian c

She stepped forward, her voice clear and confident."I apologize, but we cannot proceed with the ceremony. It goes against my father's wishes."The room fell silent, with all eyes on Lunaria. She handed the will she had found to the eldest elder, who read it out loud. The room was filled with murmurs and gasps as the contents of the will were revealed.Lillian's face turned red with rage as she screamed,"This is useless! Mun is just slightly worried about the future,” Lunaria replied, forcing a smile.“Why are you worried? Does Dad know? You can talk to him about it. Have you reached out to him?
