Nathan’s POV.

The moment my eyes flickered open, I knew at once that I was in the hospital.

Turning my head to the side, I tried to sit up only to see Lunaria seated opposite me with her head tossed backward; she was asleep.

Beside her was Liam who was engrossed in his childish play.

The first thing that came to mind was to help her on the bed so she would have a comfortable rest but the moment I threw my feet off the bed, it creaked and at once she snapped her eyes open.

Ugh!

“I’m sorry, I shouldn't have woken you up,” I said, blaming myself for not being careful enough.

“Hey, you shouldn't be apologetic about it.” Pushing her hair behind her ear, she rose and then walked up to me.

Making me rest my back against the wall, she proceeded to say, “I’m supposed to be looking after you but I fell asleep.”

“Are you okay?” She asked, peering into my eyes with a concerned look on her face.

Nodding in glee, I said, “Of course I am.” Grinning like I had just won the lottery, I went fur

Author’s POV.While everyone was happy that Lunaria had been found, Sarah and a few others were distraught by the news. Now in the confines of her bedroom, Sarah repeatedly thanked her stars that she had followed Nathan and Gideon to the location where Lunaria was kept. Not only was her accomplice going to be caught since he was outnumbered, she was going to be exposed and she couldn't risk it. Pacing about with her hands crossed on her chest, she allowed her mind to start wandering all over the place. Reviewing the plans in her head which were perfect without a flaw, she began to wonder what could have gone wrong as she had carefully followed it all to the latter. “I should have known that Nathan’s involvement is going to make things go sour.” She said through her teeth, cranking her head to the side. Snapping her eyes shut, she took in a deep breath as she slowly lowered herself to the edge of the bed only to rise the next second. Each time she remembered how she had sent his

Nathan's POV.I sat at my desk, my mind still reeling from the elders' words. I was gritting my teeth as I thought all about it. How could they ask me to find a Luna now that I was trying to win Lunaria over? Knowing how I would be pressured from now on, I knew I had to do something and not overlook it unless it would create a huge problem where I might lose Lunaria whose life would be threatened when they found out she was the reason why I wasn’t ready for a Luna.Lunaria was the only one I could see as my Luna, but was it too soon to consider such a commitment? Why can’t they decide to keep mute as they had always done? I closed my eyes as I was filled with worry and dread, and then my thoughts flashed to Sarah. I almost screamed as I knew she was definitely the one they were going to ask me to choose because Sarah had been standing with me all these years after the tragedy involving my father and Lunaria and although I see her as a friend, they pack members sees her differently a

Author’s POV. Sarah was boiling with anger as she left Nathan's office. The mere thought of Lunaria becoming his Luna felt like a betrayal, but she had to play it cool at his face and support him without showing what her through feelings were. With a forced smile, she had told Nathan to do what he thought was best before exiting the room and going ahead to ask Lunaria to marry him while deep down she was almost spitting fire in anger. Once outside, the smile Sarah plastered on her face faded, and she clenched her fists. She wasn't going to let that happen, she would never let their fucking marriage happen, not while she was alive. “Over my dead body!” Sarah spat as her rage only seemed to intensify at the thought of it. She couldn't believe Nathan would consider making Lunaria his Luna. The thought that followed made her blood boil. She had been by his side all these years, supporting him, helping him, and this was how he wanted to repay her. Instead of noticing how madly in

Lunaria's POV.I stared at the microscope, my eyes scanning the samples in front of me. But my mind kept wandering, flashes of being tied up and helpless invading my thoughts. I shook my head, trying to focus. Wondering if I had developed post-traumatic stress disorder from it. I wouldn't lie I was scared while still being detained and had had the worst possible scenarios in my head, what ossied me off was the fact I was very weak, more weak than a werewolf despite being a lycan.I had researched why I was weak and also ran so many tests with no results showing exactly why and the doctor I consulted mentioned it might be as a result of the memory loss I had which made a very big part of me disappear. I sighed as it troubled me when I wondered if I would get into trouble again, how shameful it was for a lycan to be treated that way.As I continued thinking about the kidnap, I noticed it was different from my last kidnapping; the memories felt more vivid like I was recollecting somethin

Lunaria’s POV.“Dr. Lunaria,” I heard someone call as the office to my door opened, it was the nurse. She had a sad look on her face and she was scratching her hair as she came back in. She swallowed hard as she opened her mouth to say something but then closed it. She made sure to avoid looking at me and tried saying something but closed it, it was like she had something to say and it left me curious, I had to abandon what I was doing.“Do you have anything to say to me? Say it please,” I urged her. I scratched her hair nervously and I noticed her take a deep breath before she looked up at me and then looked down again.“Actually…” she began and went quiet causing my temper to rise as I was already running out of patience and rather anxious, I didn't know the news she had, if my son was in danger again, or any important person around me.“Why won't you say something? Is my son in danger? Liam,” I called and immediately started rushing out but she held me back and shook her head.“No,

Nathan’s POV.When Lunaria asked that Sarah should go with us, my countenance changed at once and so I began to hope that she declined the invitation but to my dismay she accepted. This was supposed to be a dinner for just both of us, why then did she invite Sarah? — I thought, biting my lower lips. Several times I was tempted to ask Sarah not to come with us but I didn't want a situation where I would create a scene so I had to swallow it in. “Hey Nathan, we’re ready.” Sarah chirped and at once, I snapped my head in her direction. “Why does that look, is there a problem?” Lunaria asked and immediately, I released the frown that had been built up in my face. “Let's get going,” I said and with my hands tucked inside my pockets, I led the way.“I'm going to get something spicy. Have you tried spicy noodles before?” Sarah asked, starting up a conversation with Lunaria. “I’m not a fan of spicy meals, I will skip them,” Lunaria replied. “You have to try these noodles. Lunaria's POV.When Sarah came along, I had no choice but to invite her to join us for dinner which she readily agreed to. This was going to be our first dinner together and I was looking forward to the excitement and the thrills that would come from it. No doubt, she was going to have a million things to say to me and so I was itching already. While we talked, several times I cast Nathan a glance only to see a gloomy look on his face. This made me chuckle several times as I considered it as jealousy. It has always been the two of us having dinner together and now that someone else had joined in, he was bound to be jealous. Sarah on the other hand didn't disappoint me, but instead, she surpassed my expectations. The stories she kept filling me with made me super excited and I was itching to hear some more only for a phone call to interrupt us. It was a call from my father so I wasted no time in picking it up. “You need to come home now daughter.” He sounded so excited over the

Finally, I got to Henry’s house, and without knocking, I pushed the door open in anger and then barged into his living room. “You're…” One of his maids was about to speak but I snapped at her, “Where is Henry?” When I got in, I was expecting to see him in the living room but he was not around. “I will inform him of your presence now.” The maid said and immediately scurried towards the stairs. About a minute later, Henry appeared on the top of the stairs, smiling like a maniac. The more I stared back at him the more angry I became but out of courtesy sake, I had to keep cool until it was just the two of us. The m

Author’s POV. Lunaria's hands trembled as Mendy helped her into the wedding attire and packed her hair in a bun. Just as Mendy stepped back to admire her handiwork, a soft knock at the door interrupted the moment. Mendy smiled and moved to answer it, she opened the door to find a young servant holding a small elegant envelope. "For the bride," the servant said, bowing slightly. “Thank you.” Came Mendy’s voice as she closed the door and walked over to Lunaria to hand her the envelope. Lunaria's heart skipped a beat as she took the envelope, her fingers tracing the seal. She recognized the symbol – Nathan's family crest. A gentle smile spread across her face as she opened the envelope and withdrew the letter inside. The poem, written in Nathan's own hand, spoke of his love for Lunaria, of the journey they had shared, and of the promises he made to her. It spoke of the moon goddess's blessing, of the love that had grown between them, and of the future they would build together. T

I repeated my request, but she didn't move.Slowly, she raised her head, her eyes filled with tears."I...I can't bear working under you as a slave," she said, her voice trembling.I was taken aback by her words. I hadn't thought about how she would feel, being forced to serve me after everything that had happened."Lillian, I..." I started to say, but she cut me off."I would rather not be alive at all than be a slave," she said, her voice firm. And with that, she grabbed a sharp object from the nearest shoulder and pierced herself.I screamed, shocked by her action. Mendy rushed to her side, trying to stop the bleeding."L

Author’s POV.After everyone had disappeared for the day, leaving me, the elders, my stepmother, and my sister. They marched onto the throne room to confront me but I stood tall, my voice firm as I addressed Agatha.“Was it Sarah that gave you the Heirloom?” Agatha asked me."No, Sarah did not betray us, Agatha. Anthony found the real heirloom and exchanged it with the fake one."Nathan's face was still twisted in rage when he walked in and saw Agatha interrogating me, but as I waved at him to indicate that I was okay, I could see the tension in his body begin to ease. I turned to him, placing a calming hand on his arm as he came to stand beside me."Nathan, it's okay. The truth is out now."I turned back to Agatha, my eyes narrowing."Since everything is clear now, I will decide the fate of all the offenders." I moved to the throne, my voice ringing out across the room."According to our law, Agatha, you would be killed for your crimes. And Lillian, you would be reduced to a maid."T

Author’s POV.Lunaria's anger boiled over, threatening to consume her. She took a step forward, her hands clenched into fists. It took everything within her not to shred Agatha into pieces. How could she be so wicked and callous, killing her own husband and trying to take the throne from her rightful place? Killing her mother wasn't enough, she had the guts to kill her own husband for her daughter and she was okay with it.Nathan stepped forward, placing a calming hand on Lunaria's shoulder."It's okay, Lunaria. It's going to be alright. I am here for you, it's going to be alright,” Nathan assured.Lunaria took a deep breath, trying to calm down. She knew that if she did anything against the law, her rulership might be withdrawn, and her father's wish would never come to pass. She had to keep her emotions in check, no matter how hard it was.Agatha's face paled as she realized she was doomed. Sarah's revelation had exposed her secrets, and she knew she had to think fast. But nothing did. She stood up, wondering if she had done something wrong, and sat down again. Still, nothing happened. The heirloom remained dull and lifeless on her neck, refusing to shine.Lunaria was then called forward. She walked calmly to the throne and sat down. As soon as she did, the necklace around her neck shone bright. But that was not the only surprising thing - Lunaria's head began to transform, taking on the features of a Lycan queen. The room fell silent, with everyone staring in shock at Lunaria. Then, in unison, they bowed down to her. Lillian's face turned red with rage and disappointment.“This is a lie, you wore me the fake Heirloom,” Lilian c

She stepped forward, her voice clear and confident."I apologize, but we cannot proceed with the ceremony. It goes against my father's wishes."The room fell silent, with all eyes on Lunaria. She handed the will she had found to the eldest elder, who read it out loud. The room was filled with murmurs and gasps as the contents of the will were revealed.Lillian's face turned red with rage as she screamed,"This is useless! The tradition is clear: only the one with the heirloom can ascend the throne!" She turned to the elders, her voice pleading."My father must have been clueless about Lunaria's true nature. S

Mun is just slightly worried about the future,” Lunaria replied, forcing a smile.“Why are you worried? Does Dad know? You can talk to him about it. Have you reached out to him?
