Nathan's POV.

I woke up early, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. I couldn’t deny that I had barely slept last night. It had been like I was some teenager whose crush finally agreed to go on a date or spend the day with. The thought of another day with Lunaria couldn’t allow me to sleep as my imagination ran wildly making me miss her and want to see her again.

I got dressed, expecting Lunaria to arrive soon. Looking around and not seeing her already made me wish she was living with me already as it was going to be the sweetest thing to be able to see her face every morning before I go about my day.

I had picked out the finest clothes when I got dressed, determined to impress her and win her over over again with my charm. I grinned thinking about how beautiful she was definitely going to be and the gentle smile that is going to be on her face.

As I walked into the living room still thinking of Lunaria, I saw Gideon, my beta, standing by the window, already dressed and ready f

Nathan's POV.What Sarah said made me realize how selfish I was. And how much I was wrong wanting to have the sweetest times with Lunaria and also wanting to have back in my arms again. I felt guilty of thinking about her all night with the sweetest memories forgetting how much she suffered before she disappeared and then appeared again after six years."Damn, how could I be so unreasonable and not think as maturely as I was supposed to?" I thought to myself. Sarah was absolutely right, and her words were definitely the reminder I needed. My mood changed totally from the happy Nathan to now a very gloomy one as more thoughts swirled in my head. I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that settled in my stomach. Was I really prepared for the consequences of Lunaria regaining her memory? Was I really prepared for her making the decision to abandon me for what I did forever? Was I ready for her to choose another man over me when she learned the truth? Was I ready to see how hurt and

Author’s POV While Nathan was acting awkwardly, Sarah stood in a corner, watching him with a bright smile etched on her lips. This was what she wanted and she couldn't feel more grateful that her words had impact on him. Smacking her lips with her hands still across her chest, she watched keenly how Nathan tried to get rid of the connection between him and Lunaria. “I had no intention of staying back and watching you two get together. Whatever I need to do to split you up, I don't mind.” She said through her teeth. When Nathan suggested they went to the pack clinic together, she wasn't pleased with the idea a bit and at the same time, she couldn't stop them and so all she could do was to sulk. Watching them leave as anger ran through her veins, she couldn't help but to review the plans she had already brewed in her head. Getting rid of Lunaria was going to be easy peasy to her now and she couldn't wait to get the job done already. After they had taken their leave, she stepped o

Lunaria’s POV At first, I thought I was the one thinking things but when Nathan continued avoiding me repeatedly after we started heading to the clinic. He was silent while all through the drive and I believed it was an intentional act and this got me worried. Saddened with the way he was treating me, I began to wonder what I might have done wrong to deserve a cold treatment from him. Reviewing the events of the previous night in my head, I couldn't pinpoint when I had annoyed him or we had a fallout. Even when I tried to apologize to him for something I was unsure of doing, he ignored me completely like I was a plague. When we got to the garage, I halted and then held Gideon's arm so he wouldn't take a step further, “Is anything the issue?” I asked.Gideon didn't give an immediate response as I had wanted, hence making me even more terrified. Whatever might be the problem, it was bigger than I had imagined. “Please talk to me, I’m curious.” I pressed on, hoping my persistence

Nathan’s POV.Though I was feigning not to care about my sudden absurd behavior after we started heading to the clinic but I was bothered. With each passing minute, I felt like Lunaria was slipping off my grip and the thought of it terrified me to my bones. Sarah had done a perfect job in making me regret all of my earlier actions and now the remedy was I should stay away from her. Thanks to her also, I realized I have been wrong all these while and acting professionally with her was the best way. When we got to the garage, I was expecting that she would come after me but instead, she stood next to Gideon and both of them were talking. This triggered me so much that several times, I was tempted to yell at them to break their conversation but that was only going to worsen everything. So I wouldn't explode, I had to ask her to go with Gideon in another car but still, I was jealous and angry. All through the drive to the hospital, I couldn't get my mind off their car that was behi

Nathan’s POV.I was sure I had messed up everything at this moment and I was sad by how everything had turned out to be.I explained all I could to her so she would stay with me and we could work together again but it seemed to fall on deaf ears as she was not willing to work with me anymore.“I’ll just go Nathan,” she said with a tired voice. “I really appreciate all you’ve done and it’s been a wonderful time but I do want you to know that I need to leave. You can forget the documents.”She dragged her hands out of mine as we heard a sob.We looked at the door to see Liam standing there with tears in his eyes.“Mummy,” he said, running towards her. “What is going on? Are you mad at uncle Nathan?”She looked at me and smiled. “Oh no,” she said which was a blatant lie. “I’m not mad at him. We are just… playing.”“Please forgive him. He’s my friend. I don’t want us to lose him.”That made her stop as she looked at me and sighed before turning to Liam.“Liam, we need to go home…”But Lia

Lunaria’s POV.As I drove home with Liam, my thoughts went back to Nathan. I was glad our earlier talk had been good and he wasn’t upset with anything I had done. Knowing that felt like a weight off my shoulders, and for the first time in a long time, things just seemed… right.I dropped Liam off at the palace with Mendy and didn’t waste any time heading to the hospital. There was so much to do, but I wanted to get started analyzing the samples from Nathan’s pack that I had collected. The thought of actually finding a way to cure and help his people pushed me even harder. At least, that way I could earn everyone’s trust. When I got to the hospital I went straight to the lab. I quickly set everything up and started running tests on the samples. I was so into it that I didn’t realize how late it was getting. Each slide, each test result brought me closer to finding out what everyone in Nathan's pack was sick with.At some point my stomach growled reminding me that I hadn’t eaten in a l

Author’s POV.Sarah sat on her bed, her hands trembling. Her thoughts were coiled up, dragging her back to a time she had fought to erase from memory. She couldn't help thinking about that child—Liam—with his startling likeness to Nathan, but she wouldn't let herself go there. There was a knock at the door and Sarah snapped upright, trying to hide the turmoil that wracked her body. “Yes?”A young maid stepped in, carrying a tray of fresh linens. Sarah gestured for her to stop and asked, “The boy’s food earlier… you’re sure there was no Talic in it?”The maid nodded without hesitation. “Yes, Miss. The Alpha specifically ordered us not to add Talic to any of his meals. He said the boy is allergic to it.”Sarah froze, her heart pounding in her chest. Allergic to Talic? She felt a chill run down her spine. This little piece of information fit too perfectly into the puzzle she had been avoiding for weeks. She clenched her fists, trying to steady her breathing.“Are you sure the Alpha hims

But another part of me knew I couldn't keep putting Henry off for the reason I couldn’t tell. I wanted to spend more time with Nathan, I wanted him around, to see his face again and hear him speak. I couldn’t deny the attraction I was growing towards Nathan, it was like a glimpse of him brings joy to my heart, and having him around seemed like I was being protected and cherished but sadly, I had committed to this dinner with Henry which I couldn’t just all of a sudden. My thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door. Author’s POV. Lunaria's hands trembled as Mendy helped her into the wedding attire and packed her hair in a bun. Just as Mendy stepped back to admire her handiwork, a soft knock at the door interrupted the moment. Mendy smiled and moved to answer it, she opened the door to find a young servant holding a small elegant envelope. "For the bride," the servant said, bowing slightly. “Thank you.” Came Mendy’s voice as she closed the door and walked over to Lunaria to hand her the envelope. Lunaria's heart skipped a beat as she took the envelope, her fingers tracing the seal. She recognized the symbol – Nathan's family crest. A gentle smile spread across her face as she opened the envelope and withdrew the letter inside. The poem, written in Nathan's own hand, spoke of his love for Lunaria, of the journey they had shared, and of the promises he made to her. It spoke of the moon goddess's blessing, of the love that had grown between them, and of the future they would build together. T

I repeated my request, but she didn't move.Slowly, she raised her head, her eyes filled with tears."I...I can't bear working under you as a slave," she said, her voice trembling.I was taken aback by her words. I hadn't thought about how she would feel, being forced to serve me after everything that had happened."Lillian, I..." I started to say, but she cut me off."I would rather not be alive at all than be a slave," she said, her voice firm. And with that, she grabbed a sharp object from the nearest shoulder and pierced herself.I screamed, shocked by her action. Mendy rushed to her side, trying to stop the bleeding."L

Author’s POV.After everyone had disappeared for the day, leaving me, the elders, my stepmother, and my sister. They marched onto the throne room to confront me but I stood tall, my voice firm as I addressed Agatha.“Was it Sarah that gave you the Heirloom?” Agatha asked me."No, Sarah did not betray us, Agatha. Anthony found the real heirloom and exchanged it with the fake one."Nathan's face was still twisted in rage when he walked in and saw Agatha interrogating me, but as I waved at him to indicate that I was okay, I could see the tension in his body begin to ease. I turned to him, placing a calming hand on his arm as he came to stand beside me."Nathan, it's okay. The truth is out now."I turned back to Agatha, my eyes narrowing."Since everything is clear now, I will decide the fate of all the offenders." I moved to the throne, my voice ringing out across the room."According to our law, Agatha, you would be killed for your crimes. And Lillian, you would be reduced to a maid."T

Killing her mother wasn't enough, she had the guts to kill her own husband for her daughter and she was okay with it.Nathan stepped forward, placing a calming hand on Lunaria's shoulder."It's okay, Lunaria. It's going to be alright. I am here for you, it's going to be alright,” Nathan assured.Lunaria took a deep breath, trying to calm down.
