Lunaria’s POV.

I had seen how the crowd had looked at me after I had introduced myself as they were shocked to have me here.

It was shocking but I kept my cool.

Maybe they were happy to see me or something but the murmurs I had heard made me know that I had had an impact on this pack in the past and it made me feel like maybe coming here was the right call.

The whole crowd had been unsettled, the rumblings and murmurings increased but this time not with agitation but with confusion.

They looked confused as though they had seen a ghost and this made me very confused.

I was glad Nathan had stepped in and I was back in the room before anything could have happened.

As I walked into the room, my thoughts were all over the place.

My mind kept replaying what had just happened. The people outside had asked me if I was the same Lunaria from their pack. Their words made me feel uneasy, like there was a part of my life I had forgotten.

What could they mean? What had happened to me before?

Panic rose in my throat, and I could barely breathe.Nathan stepped closer, his voice calm but firm. “Lunaria, what’s wrong? What happened?”I turned to him, tears welling up in my eyes. “I need to go,” I said.“Wait,” he sighed. “What is it?” I asked in frustration as he got close to me.“What is going on?”“It isn’t your business. I just need to get out of here.”I was clearly only concerned about my son. This man and his pack right now could burn for all I cared. Nathan’s POV.Everything I could think of, I did to calm Lunaria down but it was to no avail as she kept shifting on her seat as she fiddled with her fingers. The moment we arrived at the Kingdom, she surged forward, “Please can you hurry up a bit.” She said in a breath. “Relax, we will arrive at the hospital soon.” I replied, casting her a swift glance before returning my gaze to the road ahead. Somehow, she seemed to have calmed down only for her phone to start ringing. “Hey Mendy!” She gulped. I didn't get to hear their conversation but the person on the other end must have instilled a lot of fear into her. “Please…” “Relax.” I cut her off as I was getting a little angry. Her worry was making me lose focus and I didn't want to worsen the situation at hand by getting into an accident. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you.” I mumbled but she didn't say anything to me, instead she recoiled and then resumed fiddling with her fingers. Nathan's POVWhat was he doing here? — I yelled in my head, glaring at him with my hands clenched by my side. “We asked him to wait in the lobby… he is heading to the waiting room right now.” The receptionist said in a breath. Shifting his attention from the receptionist to me, he said, “You should have done that the moment she asked you to.” Nodding behind him, he said, “I intentionally stayed back wondering what was going on here.” He added, causing me to roll my eyes at him. “What do you want? I might be able to help you.” He shrugged and with a deep frown etched on my face, I imitated his intimidating pose, pushing my hands into my pockets.“Why should I tell you? It's not as if we are close acquaintances to be having this kind of conversation.” I snarled at him. My anger at the moment was not because I was denied entrance by the receptionist, instead, it was his presence. He must have learnt that Lunaria was in the hospital and so he had come to meet with her and Liam. The

Nathan's POV.“Why are you wearing a laboratory coat?” This was the first question I asked immediately I got to her side. “It's nothing serious.” She replied but I wasn't going to believe her that easily and also, in contrast to the way she had acted about half an hour ago, she seemed relatively calm. “Tell me what happened.” I rapped. “I’m sorry I couldn't go after you, I was denied entrance.” I ratted out, not like I was blaming anybody. Immediately, she turned towards the receptionist who was already staring at us; she must have been eavesdropping on our conversation. “Why was that?” Lunaria asked with a calm tone but the look on her face showed that she was disappointed with her action. With a bowed head, the receptionist said, “Pardon me, I have no excuse to give.” She said only to turn to me and with a bowed head, said, “Pardon me Alpha Nathan, I had no idea of your identity before now.” Before I could inquire on how she got to know who I was, I remembered when Lunaria had

Nathan’s POV.I couldn't believe what I had just heard like it sounded so ridiculous in my ears. Henry had claimed that Lunaria was his wife, and I needed to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. If I hadn’t been interacting with Lunaria, I could have believed it because he made it look so serious, in fact, someone who didn’t know their relationship would believe Henry right away. Not being able to watch him behave that way, I clenched my fist in anger and jealousy and stared intently at him as I spoke up."Excuse me, Henry?" I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral even as I was burning inside. How dare he claim my Lunaria as his. He looked up as my voice caught his attention, he had this amusing look in his eyes that irritated me further. "Could you repeat what you just said?" I said to him, fixing my eyes on him like I was ready to throw a punch the seconds he repeated himself.Henry smiled proudly as he eyed me, his eyes gleaming with a possessiveness that made my skin crawl and my i

Lunaria’s POV.After seeing the doctor who told me Liam was going to be fine, I returned to the ward to find Henry sitting with Liam, he was talking with him while Nathan stood by their side engrossed in his phone.“How was the meeting with the doctor?” Henry rushed towards me to ask immediately after I came in and I rolled my eyes feeling like he was becoming too intrusive.“Well, it was fine. He said Liam was going to be fine. The allergy is already disappearing and his body system would be fine,” I explained, folding my hand across my chest, making sure to stand some meters away from Liam who was playing on the bed, and Alpha Nathan who hadn't noticed my presence. He seemed really busy and I didn't blame him because he had spent almost all his day with us.“Okay, reduce my worry then,” Henry said in relief and then took my hands.“Don't ever be anxious like you were earlier with the situation with the nurse, it will only deteriorate your health and when such an emergency occurs, do

Nathan’s POV.I watched Lunaria as she interacted with Liam, her eyes shining with warmth and care. Later she asked me to accompany her to go fetch him some snacks, and I left with her to a grocery shop outside the hospital. Our steps were slow, as if she had a lot on her mind, just as I did.I didn't know what she was thinking, but I kept stealing glances to check on her facial expression, to see if she was okay. She's someone who badly conceals how she feels; it mainly shows on her face - if she's angry, irritated, or even sad.Watching her kept my mind busy for a while, but I didn't know when I went off track, and my mind started thinking about our earlier conversation. She was a doctor, a professional with expertise that could greatly benefit the pack. But somehow, I still wondered when and how she became one.I could remember she always mentioned how she wanted to be a doctor, but then it was too late. When I realized she was my mate, she refused to go to school to further her st

Lunaria’s POV.I took a deep breath, hoping I wasn't crossing the line by trying to ask for this favor. It had been weighing heavily on my mind, and while I was lost in thought, it just occurred to me. I had to speak up now and become bold enough to ask Nathan about this.I looked at Nathan, and he was all ears, ready to listen to what I had to say to him. The door opened with the doctor showing up to check on Liam, which distracted me, and I stood up to meet her."I came for a final examination before he can go home," she said, putting on a smile when I returned. She bent over Liam casually interacting with him while Liam did the same. After some minutes, she stood up and asked me to follow her to her office, making me a bit anxious, and I felt Nathan's expression change too, to that of someone who was nervous. But the doctor told us it was nothing and asked him to stay with Liam; I followed her back to her office."I will be brief since I don't have much to say. Author’s POV. Lunaria's hands trembled as Mendy helped her into the wedding attire and packed her hair in a bun. Just as Mendy stepped back to admire her handiwork, a soft knock at the door interrupted the moment. Mendy smiled and moved to answer it, she opened the door to find a young servant holding a small elegant envelope. "For the bride," the servant said, bowing slightly. “Thank you.” Came Mendy’s voice as she closed the door and walked over to Lunaria to hand her the envelope. Lunaria's heart skipped a beat as she took the envelope, her fingers tracing the seal. She recognized the symbol – Nathan's family crest. A gentle smile spread across her face as she opened the envelope and withdrew the letter inside. The poem, written in Nathan's own hand, spoke of his love for Lunaria, of the journey they had shared, and of the promises he made to her. It spoke of the moon goddess's blessing, of the love that had grown between them, and of the future they would build together. T

I repeated my request, but she didn't move.Slowly, she raised her head, her eyes filled with tears."I...I can't bear working under you as a slave," she said, her voice trembling.I was taken aback by her words. I hadn't thought about how she would feel, being forced to serve me after everything that had happened."Lillian, I..." I started to say, but she cut me off."I would rather not be alive at all than be a slave," she said, her voice firm. And with that, she grabbed a sharp object from the nearest shoulder and pierced herself.I screamed, shocked by her action. Mendy rushed to her side, trying to stop the bleeding."L

Author’s POV.After everyone had disappeared for the day, leaving me, the elders, my stepmother, and my sister. They marched onto the throne room to confront me but I stood tall, my voice firm as I addressed Agatha.“Was it Sarah that gave you the Heirloom?” Agatha asked me."No, Sarah did not betray us, Agatha. Anthony found the real heirloom and exchanged it with the fake one."Nathan's face was still twisted in rage when he walked in and saw Agatha interrogating me, but as I waved at him to indicate that I was okay, I could see the tension in his body begin to ease. I turned to him, placing a calming hand on his arm as he came to stand beside me."Nathan, it's okay. The truth is out now."I turned back to Agatha, my eyes narrowing."Since everything is clear now, I will decide the fate of all the offenders." I moved to the throne, my voice ringing out across the room."According to our law, Agatha, you would be killed for your crimes. And Lillian, you would be reduced to a maid."T

Author’s POV.Lunaria's anger boiled over, threatening to consume her. She took a step forward, her hands clenched into fists. It took everything within her not to shred Agatha into pieces. How could she be so wicked and callous, killing her own husband and trying to take the throne from her rightful place? Killing her mother wasn't enough, she had the guts to kill her own husband for her daughter and she was okay with it.Nathan stepped forward, placing a calming hand on Lunaria's shoulder."It's okay, Lunaria. It's going to be alright. I am here for you, it's going to be alright,” Nathan assured.Lunaria took a deep breath, trying to calm down. She knew that if she did anything against the law, her rulership might be withdrawn, and her father's wish would never come to pass. She had to keep her emotions in check, no matter how hard it was.Agatha's face paled as she realized she was doomed. Sarah's revelation had exposed her secrets, and she knew she had to think fast. But nothing did. She stood up, wondering if she had done something wrong, and sat down again. Still, nothing happened. The heirloom remained dull and lifeless on her neck, refusing to shine.Lunaria was then called forward. She walked calmly to the throne and sat down. As soon as she did, the necklace around her neck shone bright. But that was not the only surprising thing - Lunaria's head began to transform, taking on the features of a Lycan queen. The room fell silent, with everyone staring in shock at Lunaria. The room was filled with murmurs and gasps as the contents of the will were revealed.Lillian's face turned red with rage as she screamed,"This is useless! Mun is just slightly worried about the future,” Lunaria replied, forcing a smile.“Why are you worried? Does Dad know? You can talk to him about it. Have you reached out to him?
