A V E L I N A
I shamefully arranged my nightgown and tied a robe over it as I stood up from the bed. I wore my slippers and walking out of the hotel room, walking towards where Lorenzo went to.
The hotel was still bubbly even at 1am, I had noticed. I was thankful for that as no one paid any attention to the girl who had tears in her eyes and a red cheek.
I got into the elevator and pressed the button that led to the roof.
I knew I'd find him there.
But, what I wasn't expecting was to get the biggest shock of my life. There he was, standing on the rooftop with a slender lady in his arms. She had her arms around his neck and her tongue shoved down his throat.
I couldn't breathe. I was rooted to the ground. I couldn't move and I couldn't stop watching. I wasn't shocked that he was cheating. I was shocked that I felt my heart break into a million pieces.
And, why did I feel this way? Why was I so shocked and upset?
I didn't care about him.
I shouldn't.
"Oh, fuck! That was good. I missed you so much, Enzo baby." She moaned, kissing his jaw.
"Mhmm. Fuck, yeah. I missed you too, babe."
"What are you going to do about your grandmother then? She deceived you and lured you to get married to that gold-digging bitch. She's going to take your money and run. We have to do something." She said, running her finger over his lips.
He looked away and pulled her close to him. "Don't worry about her, she won't be a problem for long." He said, looking at her with adoration.
I felt my blood boil and I wanted nothing more than to push her off the fucking rooftop.
"But, why, baby? We were so perfect together and now you're marrying that whore?" She asked, her voice cracking.
"Because, baby, she's the solution to our problems. She'll be useful for a while."
"And, then?"
"And, then, I'll get rid of her. You know I feel nothing for her. She isn't even my type. The only reason I'm going ahead with this is because of my grandmother. After I'm done with her, I'm all yours."
"Promise?"
"Of course, baby." He kissed her lips and pulled her close.
They stood there for a few moments before he pushed her off and walked back into the hotel.
I quickly moved out of his way, pressing myself against the wall. I waited for him to walk past me before I breathed out a sigh of relief.
He didn't see me.
"Who the fuck are you and what are you doing here?" I heard the woman ask and I slowly turned around, facing her.
She had her brows raised, a cigarette dangling between her lips.
I didn't say anything, too shocked to form any words.
"Hello? Anyone in there?" She asked, waving a hand in front of my face.
"Excuse me." I said sternly and started walking out the door when her voice stopped me.
This time it was filled with disdain and venom, "Wait a minute. I've seen you somewhere. Aren't you that whore Lorenzo married? Why are you here?"
"I'm not a whore. And, why do you care?"
She laughed and walked over to me, getting into my face. "Do you think you're something special, huh? Just because you're his wife. You're a joke."
I pushed her away from me, "Stay away from me."
She glared at me, "Or, what? Are you going to tell your husband? Please. What are you? A little girl? Get a grip, sweetheart."
"Just...leave me alone."
She grabbed my arm, "I can't believe a whore like you married my Enzo. Do you really think he'll love you?"
"He doesn't love you, either. Don't forget that." I shot back.
Her nostrils flared, and she pushed me back, making me stumble and almost lose my footing.
I regained my balance, feeling my anger grow. I walked over to her and slapped her across the face. She cupped her cheek in shock, as I pointed an accusing finger at her face, fuming. This was a side of me I rarely let anyone get to see. I dealt with terrible anger issues as a teen and I'm only able to manage it until it's triggered.
"Don't. Ever. Touch. Me." I growled. "I don't care whatever you have going on with Lorenzo. You can have him for all I care. I never wanted this union either. I did it because of the love and respect I have for his grandmother. Of course you wouldn't understand the length one would go for someone they love, you look like you need love yourself. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to my room and enjoy my first night of being a married woman. So, please, go back to your room and enjoy the rest of the night."
As I turned my back, I saw Lorenzo standing there, a blank expression on his face.
I looked at him, and then back at her. She had her head down, unable to meet my gaze.
I glared at him and pushed past him. "You're both pathetic."
I walked into our hotel room, slamming the door behind me. I felt tired, and drained.
I wanted nothing more than to fall into bed and forget this horrible night ever happened.
Why the hell was I affected? He was a cheater.
I didn't want him, anyway.
So, why did seeing him kiss another woman break my heart?
My boyfriend, Benny. I felt a wave of nervousness pass through me. He doesn't know that I was married. I never told him. Neither did I tell my family.
I had intentionally switched off my phone to escape reality until tomorrow.
I'll have to talk to him tomorrow.
I sighed, rubbing a hand over my face.
This was going to be a long night.
I was exhausted, and my eyelids were starting to get heavy.
I removed the robe and threw it over the chair before climbing into bed.
I pulled the duvet over me and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
A V E L I N AMy head was turned to the window as the car drove towards the airport. Lorenzo was sitting right next to me, typing rapidly on his phone. He had came back into the room while I was fast asleep and I avoided him like the plague this morning as I packed my bag for our honeymoon. The air in the car was so awkward that even the driver couldn't help but steal glances at me from time to time. I sighed and stared out the window. I wanted this honeymoon to end, and I wanted it to end quickly. "Where are we going?" I asked, breaking the silence."Maldives.""When will we reach?""By evening.""How many days will we stay there?""One week." I bit my lip and turned back to the window. So, he wasn't going to explain last night.I was okay with that. It wasn't like I had any feelings for him, anyway. The driver dropped us at the airport and the moment we checked in and walked into the waiting area, he started walking off without me."Lorenzo!" I shouted, jogging up to him. "You coul
A V E L I N A Tears immediately gathered in my eyes by his words as the phone shook in my hands. His voice sounded so broken and betrayed and I felt guilt eat at me. "When were you going to tell me, Avelina? When were you going to tell me that you abandoned me for another man? That you are now another man’s wife while we are still dating?" If I hated myself before, it didn’t sum up to how much I wanted to beat myself up at this point. "H-how did you know?" I asked in a small tone, trying to fight back tears. "It’s all over the fucking media." He gritted out. "Pictures of your wedding is the talk of the entire country and you’re asking me this like you don’t know? What wrong did I do to you, Avelina?I trusted you, not knowing you’re a liar and a cheat. Tell me, how long have you been fucking this man?" He continued, his voice broke with every sentence. I could hear the pain and anger in his voice. It broke my heart to hear him like this. I could never hurt Benny. Not after everyth
A V E L I N A His words hurt more than anything and I felt the tears gathering in my eyes. How could someone say something like that to another human being? How could he say such hurtful things when I have been nothing but nice to him? I blinked back the tears, not letting him have the satisfaction of seeing me cry. "You know, if I was a gold-digger, then I would've slept with you. Then, I would have stolen your precious money and left. But, no. You're not worth any of that. I rather live a life of poverty with a man who loves me than a life full of money with an asshole like you. You may be rich, but, your wealth can't buy you everything, Lorenzo Salvatore." "Is that so? What's stopping you from doing so then, hmm? You said it yourself. All you want is my money. So, take it." He challenged. "Because I don't want your filthy hands anywhere near me. Besides, there are a lot of other girls out there that will give you what you want. And, who knows, maybe one of them will be the lucky
A V E L I N A I didn’t think I would ever get used to my new life. Bring Maggie’s caregiver, she made sure I was never in the spotlight. No one knew who I was and now, the entire world was eager to know me. I was having a taste of their life and I didn’t like it one bit. We finally arrived at the villa and I felt my jaw drop to the floor. It was a beautiful, white villa. The place was surrounded by lush gardens, with flowers of all colors. There were a few marble fountains and statues surrounding the garden. It was gorgeous. I followed Lorenzo inside and he immediately disappeared in one of the rooms, leaving me alone in the big hallway. The place was beautiful, but it wasn't welcoming. It didn't feel like a home. Everything was so cold. The house was so big. I felt a bit lonely. I didn't know why I was feeling this way. Maybe because I was away from my mom and Benny. I haven't talked to him since the wedding and I didn't have the guts to talk to him. Not after the deal I made
A V E L I N A He chuckled, his eyes gleaming. "Oh, sweetheart. This is my room. And, you are more than welcome to stay here." I was about to argue with him when he cut me off. "Shower and get dressed. We're going out for dinner." He ordered, his tone leaving no room for arguments. "I didn't pack anything fancy." "There are a lot of clothes in the closet." He nodded towards the closet and left the room. I opened the closet and almost gasped. It was filled with expensive clothes. Some were dresses, some were blouses, and there was a variety of shoes. All of them were in my size. How did he know? I grabbed a pair of black jeans, a baby blue crop top and a pair of flats. It was a bit strange that he would have a closet filled with women's clothes. Unless, it was his sister's. I placed the clothes on the bed and discarded my clothes, and wrapping a towel around my body. I walked over to the bathroom and took a long, relaxing shower. I didn't realize how slippery the bathtub was a
A V E L I N AI was sitting on the couch, trying not to show my discomfort. It was a little hard, considering the fact that I was in a lot of pain. Lorenzo was sitting beside me, sipping his wine.I wanted to ask him why he was treating me so nicely. But, I didn't. I was afraid that he would change his attitude and would go back to the jerk that he was.He was wearing a black button-down shirt and dark jeans. He was very handsome, with his dark brown hair, and chiseled jawline. His eyes were grey and he had high cheekbones. His lips were a deep pink and his skin was tan. His arms were muscular and his hands were large. He had a strong body and his movements were graceful. I felt ashamed that I wanted to know how it felt for those arms to hold me.I took a deep breath and cleared my throat. "Uhm, thank you for helping me." I mumbled. He nodded and didn't reply. I shifted in my seat and winced."Don't move, you're going to make it worse."I sighed and relaxed against the couch. He was r
A V E L I N AI heard a loud crash at the door and my eyes flew open, my heart pounding in my chest. It was then it dawned on me that I was the only one at the villa and there’s a possibility that a thief just came in here.I looked at the window and it was dark outside, the lights in the house were switched off making all this more scarier. I heard another loud crash and I stood from the bed, making sure not to make any sound.I turned on the torchlight of my phone to illuminate my bedroom as I looked for any nearest weapon I could use to fight for myself. I found an umbrella sitting beside the window and I immediately grabbed it tightly. I didn’t bother putting on my slippers as I turned off the torchlight and tiptoed out of my room. I was now facing the door to my bedroom and the crashing sounds were getting louder and more frequent.I was trying to think what to do and how to escape because if it was a thief, he or she could get me and probably do things worse than just taking va
A V E L I N AI kneeled in the cold tiles, a teasing smirk painted on my lips as I looked at Lorenzo. His grey eyes were dark and clouded with lust, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down as he swallowed thickly."Don't worry, I won't bite." I winked, placing my hands on his thighs and slowly inching closer to his bulge.I could feel the heat radiating from his skin, my nails lightly scratching the fabric of his pants."You're teasing." He breathed, his eyes fluttering shut as he felt my breath fanning his erection."I never said that I would be quick." I smirked, palming his erection. He hissed in pleasure, his hands were balled into fists.I pulled his belt open, popping the button open and tugging down the zipper. His length sprung out, standing proud and tall and the tip was already glistening with pre cum.My hand wrapped around the base and Lorenzo let out a shaky breath, his fingers tangling into my hair and pulling it into a tight fist."You're so hard, Daddy." I whispered, slow
A V E L I N AONE YEAR LATER..The huge doors slid open and suddenly the bright light in the hall fell on me. The entire crowd gasped as I slowly walked the aisle. My wedding gown flowed behind me. It was made by my favorite designer of all time. She was the best designer in the whole world and it was an honor to finally wear something made by her hands. I'd always wanted a wedding gown from her right from my childhood, and this truly felt like a dream come true. The details on the dress were so exquisite, and the material was so light, but elegant. It was a long dress with a train. I'd wanted a traditional wedding, and a long dress would suit the occasion perfectly. My dress was white and it was a mermaid style. It hugged my body, and the lace covered the dress, creating a beautiful pattern. The straps were laced as well. It was a strapless dress. My hair was styled in a bun, and there were some loose strands. There were also little white flowers on my head.I wore a long veil, which
A V E L I N AA gasp slipped past my lips as I realized we had arrived at our destination. We were at the beach. The place was lit up with fairy lights, and there was a table for two in the middle, right by the shore. The view was incredible. It was a full moon and the light bounced off the sea, making it sparkle."Wow, babe. This is incredible.""I'm glad you like it." He took my hands and brought me down from the car. "I'm happy I could pull this off and get you here without ruining the surprise. It wouldn't have been the same if we weren't alone.""I'm so happy.""Happy birthday, baby. Let's go eat."He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and we walked to the table. The set up was romantic, with the white and gold decorations, and the candles."Lo, this is beautiful. You didn't have to go all out.""But I wanted to. Only the best for my wife.""I'm really blessed to have you.""You're worth every little effort, and the moon and the stars. I'd give them to you if I could. You've made
A V E L I N AI burped my baby as I walked back and forth in the closet with my make up half done. She has woken up and gotten hungry while I was dressing up and I let everyone immediately to attend to her. After suckling for ten minutes, she has refused to sleep as she kept staring at my face. Her mouth formed into a toothless smile and I melted right there. Her grey eyes just like her father's own lightened up as I kissed her all over her face. I was told that her real eye color might come out but they were accentuating even more.Lorenzo's literal carbon copy. She grabbed my hair with her fist as she kicked her feet, I winced, gently pulling my hair from her strong little fist. The door opened and Carina came in. "Don't tell me you aren't ready yet." She said in horror looking at my unready state."Raine got hungry, I had to feed her. And I can't get anything done until she falls asleep.""Well, not while I'm here." She carried Raine from my hands and smiled. "My little sweetie pie,
A V E L I N A"Happy birthday Mummy!" I heard a shout followed by bodies landing on my bed. I slowly opened my eyes, to find Zion and Autumn looking down at me."Oh, thank you." I said and they wrapped their arms around me."I have a present for you, Mummy." Autumn said and gave me a paper. I smiled as I unfolded the paper, to find a picture she drew."I drew you."I pulled her into my arms. "Thank you baby. It's beautiful.""Zion, did you get anything for Mummy?"He shook his head. "Nope."I laughed and poked his cheek, "Oh come on. There's got to be something you got for me.""Nope." He said, cheekily. I knew he was definitely hiding something. "Are you sure?"Then he brought his hands from behind him and handed me a little box. Curious to know what was inside, I opened it and gasped. It was a beautiful alphabetical beaded bracelet. And it had the words 'Best Mom' in the middle."Where did you get this, Zion? It's so beautiful.""I made it for you, Mommy. Our teacher told us to mak
L O R E N Z OI arrived at the court house just in time with my lawyer and Nicholas. The first person my eyes met were Natalia's and she didn't look a tad bit remorseful. Her clothes were tattered and dirty and she looked thinner but held so much rage and enmity in her eyes. Seeing her rose lots of pent up anger in me."Order. Order. Will the jury please rise." The judge said and they all stood up."Today is the final court hearing. Has the jury come to a conclusion?""Yes, we have.""Read it out."The lady nodded her head and started to speak. "In the case of the people versus Natalia Serrano, we find her guilty. Evidences and footages have proven that she had conspired with a man to kill her boyfriend, and frame Lorenzo Salvatore for the crime."Natalia's face dropped, and the rage in her eyes burned harder than ever. The glare she gave me was something that could have killed me instantly if it had the ability."Is this true, Miss. Serrano?""No. They're lying. I didn't do anything.
A V E L I N AMy eyes slowly opened to a very blinding white ceiling and a nauseating hospital smell. I tried to adjust to the brightness and then tried to remember what had happened.Where am I?What happened? How did I get here? What was I doing before I got here? Then it hit me, I had a baby. Lorenzo was arrested. Anthonio is dead.I forced my eyes open again and this time, they didn't hurt. I turned and saw Lorenzo asleep in a chair, and the twins were on the bed, sleeping.I tried to call out his name, but I couldn't, I felt weak, my throat was dry, and I could barely move.Lorenzo started moving around and slowly woke up. He looked around the room and then his eyes met mine."Avelina, thank God you're awake." He said, rushing to my side and placing a kiss on my lips. "Oh my God, thank God. I thought I lost you, baby. Please don't ever do that to me again. I thought you died.""Water..." I said in a hoarse voice. He nodded his head and hurriedly got me a glass of water. "You hav
L O R E N Z OAs expected, the courts decided to throw me in jail until they proved me guilty or innocent. The evidence was too strong and the Mancini's were pushing it.It was finally the day of the trial, and I had been locked up for two days, and the worst thing was, I didn't get to hear from Avelina, I didn't know how she was doing. I was desperate and wanted to hear her voice, but no one was willing to listen to me. My lawyer finally arrived and we were to go to the court, and that's where I would get a verdict.I looked at Dorian and he gave me a reassuring nod. I decided to trust him. The court was packed with people and everyone was looking at me like I was a criminal. It made me feel uneasy and angry.I was escorted inside the room and I looked at the judge. The same one who ruled over my father's case."Mr. Lorenzo Salvatore. Do you understand the charges against you?""Yes.""Do you admit to killing Mr. Anthonio Mancini?""No, your honor.""Do you know of a gun which was
L O R E N Z OHe looked like he was going to attack me and I would have punched him in the face, but Dorian stepped in front of me and held his hand out."We have no business with each other. My client has done nothing and he's innocent until proven guilty.""I'll get you. Even if I have to do it myself. Mark my words, Lorenzo Salvatore. I'm going to get you.""Is that a threat, sir? Because I'll sue you so hard, your entire family will be homeless by the end of the week. My client is innocent until proven guilty. There's no reason to threaten him.""Get him out of here. I don't want to see him or any of the Salvatores in my face. You have one day. That's the only warning I'm giving you. Stay away from me and mine.""One day, and my client will come after you." Dorian responded. "You can't touch him, and I will prove him innocent. One way or another, you will see the true colors of the Mancini family."I was escorted back into the room. "Let's go.""Wait." The investigator stopped me.
A V E L I N AA sob ripped throught my lips as they cuffed my husband's hands, and dragged him out of the room while I tried to rock our newly born baby. The doctors rushed into the room after, followed by Valerie and Lorenzo's family. My heart rate increased drastically as they began to ask me a lot of questions."You're losing a lot of blood.""We have to take the baby.""Give me something for the pain.""Mrs Salvatore, please, calm down. You have to let us do our jobs."My brain couldn't function at the moment, and I was feeling a bit lightheaded."What's going on?" I asked weakly, looking around the room as they took my daughter. My head was spinning and my eyes were heavy, but I wanted to see my baby."Mrs Salvatore, try your best to relax.""Valerie." I called her weakly, my vision blurry. "Tell me... what's going on.""Everything will be fine, Avelina. Lorenzo will be back soon enough." She tried to assure but I wasn't having it. "No." I said, tears falling down my cheeks. "Do
