Abby sits down in the room, thankful that he had left her feet untied so that she can move around if she needs to. She would have gotten up and wondered around to familiarize herself with her surroundings, but there does not appear to be much to look at in the sparcely furnished room.
Gabe has only been gone for about five minutes at most and already Abby misses his company. It is lonely down in the basement. Lonely and cold. It is also a little creepy, if she is being honest. Abby had never been in a basement before but she had watched a horror movie about one, that she was now unfortunately recalling in great detail. The only movie he can recall having actually gotten to watch and it comes back to bite her in the ass, making her scared of her situation.
When she hears a long creaking sound echo around her, she starts to breath heavy with unease. The sound of rustling comes closer and she is practically hyperventilating, until she hears the muttered curse words accompany it. “Damn it. Stupid fucking mattress.”
Mattress?
When Abby looks up, sure enough, Gabe is wrestling a mattress down the stairs all on his own. Judging by his curses, the mattress appears to be winning whatever battle they are in. It takes him another two minutes to get it down the stairs and to get it placed in the center of the room. He lets it fall to the ground with a soft thud, as he grunts in annoyance. He takes a moment to wrestle a yellow and white checked sheet on to the mattress, before he heads back up the stairs without saying a single word to her.
When he comes back down a few minutes later, he has an armful of pillows and blankets. “Hopefully this will be more comfortable for you than sleeping on the cold, hard ground.”
“Oh, it will be, I am sure.” Abby tells him. Moving over slowly, she approaches the bed and carefully lowers herself down on it, immediately loving the soft surface beneath her.
Her back and the rest of her body hurts from sleeping on the cement. Her bottom is cold and sore just from sitting there for the few minutes it took him to carry down the bed. She is cold and uncomfortable, this dress not really practical for having slept in or for trying to move around, without the use of her hands. She really wishes she had something else to put on.
“What?”
Abby looks up when Gabe speaks and stares at him. Only then does she realizes that she was thinking out loud and that he had heard her. “Sorry, I didn't mean to say that out loud. I was just thinking. I sometimes talk aloud when I think. It's weird. You just have to ignore it."
“You want something to put on..? Like clothes?”
“No, no. You do not have to worry about that. I was just thinking that this dress is not very practical to try and sleep in. It is actually pretty uncomfortable.” Abby tells him and he nods, looking the stiff fabric over with a frown.
“Give me a few minutes. I will be right back.”
Running up the stairs once again, he disappears. He is gone for a long while this time. She is laying down on the bed, under a blanket with her head cradled in a soft, fluffy pillow when she hears his footsteps on the top of the stairs.
When he skips down the stairs to stop in the basement, he looks at her for a moment, She would have sit up to greet him, but it is hard to do with her hands tied. Getting laid down and covered up with her hands bound had been enough of a challenge for her. She doesn't want to roll around and flop like a fish on dry land in front of him, so she just stays where she is.
He comes over to squat on his haunches beside of her. He has a pile of clothes in his arms. “Here you go. I got you a couple of different things.”
He goes to hand her the stack but when she reaches up with her bound hands, he frowns, seeing the problem. He throws the clothes on the bed and looks at her. “Uh, do you mind if I-” He gestures to her body with an uncomfortable wave of his hand- “touch you-? To help you sit up!”
Abby could almost smile about his discomfort, if she were not so nervous about having his hands on her body once more. She enjoys his touch far more than she should and she doesn't understand why. But she does know that she does not want him to notice it. Yet, she does want to sit up and see what he brought for her. He is being so kind to her. She has to return the favor and be gracious for everything he has given her.
“Yes, please. I would love it if you could help me to sit up. It is not easy moving around without the proper use of your hands.” Abby tells him, giving him a friendly smile, which he returns.
Abby notices for the first time just how incredibly handsome he is. He has reddish brown hair, green eyes and just the slightest hint of a beard. Abby loves facial hair on a man and when it is red, she is learning that she likes that even more. At least, when it comes to Gabe, she does. He has a strong jaw and a short, thin nose. His smile displays his perfectly even, movie star quality teeth.
Abby wonders absently is he had to have braces to get teeth that straight. Her teeth where nice when she was a kid, but she had one that was slightly crooked and another that was a bit longer than the others. Her father spent thousands of dollars, having her go through painful experiences, just to give her perfectly even teeth. He even paid to have her teeth capped when he thought that they weren't white enough.
“I imagine that it is. I am so sorry for all of this.” Gabe speaks and she looks at him, surprised by the apology.
Her immediate response would have been 'oh, it's not your fault' and she almost said it automatically. It actually is his fault. He and his friends had kidnapped her. They are holding her here against her will. That is why her hands are tied. So, to say that it is not his fault would be a lie. The thought is enough to wipe the smile from her face. She can't tell him that it is fine or that she understands, or even accepts his apology, for that matter. She simply nods at his words.
“Here.” Sliding a hand beneath her shoulders and placing the other on her side, he tugs gently until she is sitting up, propped against the pillows. Thankfully he pushed the bed against a wall, so the wall supports the pillows, which in turn supports her.
Gabe places the pile of clothes in her lap and she looks through them. There is a pair of women's blue jeans and a white, button up floral blouse that looks to be around her size. A woman's dress sweater dress and a pair of pink pants with a stretchy waist band and a soft material. They look really comfortable. There are a couple of men's shirts, which she assumes are his and two pair of his sleep pants.
“I know that it isn't much, but I figured it is something, at least. It probably beats wearing the same uncomfortable dress over and over.” Gabe tells her.
“It does, thank you. Um, and I guess, thank your girlfriend for me, for the clothes as well. Or not, if she does't know about me, then um, don't, I guess.” Abby blushes, after stumbling over her words and making a fool of herself.
“I, um-”
“Nevermind. Moving on. Thank you so much for the clothes.” Abby chooses the pink pants and one of his tee shirts to put on. She wants to be comfortable for the moment, rather than stylish, so she saves the outfits for another time. She has no idea what they plan to do with her or how long she will be here, but judging by the amount of clothes and the bed, she would guess for a while.
Suddenly a thought hits her and her stomach drops. Nausea rolls over her and she shivers from the cold. “Are you going to kill me?”
“What?” Gabe explodes, surprised by her words. Is it because he is worried she will give him trouble or because he is offended by the thought? “No! Abby, no. No one is going to kill you.”
Gabe lays his hand on her face gently, turning her head to face him. “Listen to me. No one is going to hurt you in any way. I promise. You will be okay.”
“But I am-”
“Shh..” Gabe smiles at her gently, his hand still cupping her cheek. He leans forward until there noses are almost touching. “I know that this situation is fucked up, but I promise you. You will be fine. No one is going to harm you in any way. If I could get you out of this situation, I would-” Gabe stops talking and Abby is left to wonder about what he meant by his words.
He said no one was going to hurt her. That he would protect her. If he kidnapped her, why would he be worried about her safety now? But the soft touch of his hand and his expressively kind eyes are saying something deeper to her and she is goring more and more confused.
She has no idea what is happening to her or what will happen in the future.
She just knows that she is far too interested in Gabe. Hearing him say that he will protect her from any harm is a promise that she wishes she could hold him to. Forever.
Abby was alone in the basement and she didn't like that. Not that she could expect Gabe to sit down there with her all of the time, just to keep her company. He had a life of his own and even though she could not relate to that, she could understand it. She knew that he didn't owe her his time. Just because he took her, doesn't mean that he has to treat her well. He has been so incredibly kind, giving her things to try to make her more comfortable, but that doesn't extend to his attention. He has a girlfriend that he would rather spend time with. I mean, look at him, of course he does. He is kind and sweet, thoughtful and considerate. Besides, he is e
Abby was terrified. She had only ever been kissed twice before. She had never gone further than that with anyone. The thought of her virginity being stolen from her by this disgusting man was almost more than she could stand. Her face ached from the blow he delivered. She was whimpering in fea and pain when he shoved the rolled up shirt in her mouth. She spit it right back out and he cursed, smacking her across the face again. “Oww..” Abby sobs, tear flowing from her bruised and swollen eye. It feels as if he busted
Abby took the time that he was gone with the man to get dressed. She thinks about the fact that she was just naked and exposed in front of Gabe, which causes no shortage of embarrassment for her. But honestly, she did't think that he even noticedm because he didin't seem to react to her nude body, at all. Gabe was far too worried about her and her safety. He wanted to get to her first. To make sure that she was okay and that she had not been brutally raped. He showed genuine fear and concern for her. She doesn't even think that he noticed her nudity.
“Abby, it's-” “I want to know why I am here. What my father did that was so horribe that even I have to be punished for it. Can you tell me, please? Do you not think, that after every thing that has been done to me today, I deserve to know? I deserve to know why I am being treated like this.” Abby turns to face Gabe, staring him down. “Okay.” Gabe relents. He stands up off of the mattress and he walks towards her, holding out his hand to her. “But we won't talk here.”
Abby looks at Gabe as if he had lost his mind or like he had said something in a long lost foreign language that she didn't speak. When she spoke, she merely repeated his words back to him as if she couldn't quite comprehend them. “You are glad that you.. took.. me?” “Yes. Now, I am glad that you are here with me, rather than at home where you were being sold off to the highest bidder like a piece of livestock on the market.” Gabe told her, sitting up.
“I highly doubt that.” Gabe tells her, holding her tightly against his body until her tense muscles slowly begin to relax. “It's true.” He could hear the emotion choking her up and he strokd her back. He wanted to hear the story but he didn't want to push her. She had a rough enough day as it is. Gabe could still feel the disgust and rage that had blinded him to reason when he saw Tommy on top of her, his hands on her naked body. Gabe had started hitting him and he couldn't stop. He didn't want to stop. Every time he thought ab
The heavy fog of exhaustion begins to lift from Abby and she slowly blinks her eyes open but only for a second. She can not seem to keep them open. She stops trying to force it, instead choosing to keep them closed as she fights sleep once more. She slowly becomes familiar with an unfamiliar sensations of being fully on top of another person. The man below her seems to be asleep, but that assumption is based solely on the fact that he has not pushed her off of him yet, as she assumes that he would if he were awake. Besides that, his chest is rising and falling slowly, as it tends to do when one is soundly asleep and relaxed.
The more that the two womn talk, the more that Abby discovers that she really enjoys Liza's company and the two of them become fast friends. After a while of laughing and talking, Abby can tell that Liza is tired, so she suggest that she goes and takes a little siesta for a while. Once Liza goes to lay back down on the bed in her room, Gabe moves the bed from the basement back up to the guest room, sliding it onto the bed frame. Gabe has decided to fix the room up for Abby to stay in. He has agonized over his part in her abduction, over and over.
Gabe looks around at everyone that showed up to attend his wedding. There wa a surprisingly huge turnout. Even more than he expected. He invited all of his friends from school and she had invited all of her friends, plus their families. Her parents had just gotten back from an extended over seas vacation and his brand new wife was glued to there side. His eyes land on Hannah from across the room and he is struck by how beautiful she is. She looks like an angel in her white lace dress and the flowers in her curly h
Abby's eyes flutter closed and Gabe's heart stops. He sees the blood covering her body and tears fill his eyes. Dropping the gun her runs across the space seperating them and falls to his knees beside her, a sob stuck in his throat, choking off his words- “Ab-” He clears his throat and tries again. “Abby, baby..” She looks so pale that he is afraid that sh
For Abby it all seemed to happen in slow motion. She stood frozen as she sees her father aim the gun at Lorenzo; her breath catches in her chest as she sees his finger squeeze the trigger in. She turned her head to look at Enzo, who is looking at her. There eyes meet and hold. She sees the moment that the bullet enters his body, watching as his eyes dull and his face contorts in pain. Blood flies from his body, splattering on her face and clothes. His eyes flutter closed and his body jerks, as the loud pop that accompanied the fire breaks the silence. “Enzo!” She cries out, but her voce sounds wild and distorted, even to her own ears. That must be the edge of hysteria
Abby feels a hand patting her face briskly to wake her up. Her eyes flutter open and she looks up into his handsome face. She sees the relief in his eyes when he sees that she is awake. She tries to sit up but the room spins around her and her vision blurs. “Woah..” “Hey now, take it easy.” He catches her as she goes to topple over. “You took a hell of a knock there, honey.” “My head.. hurts.” She tells him. He nods, knowing that it does. He touches the wound and she winces.
Abby grabbed her mother's hand and pulled her back, partially shielding Denise with her body. Richard glares at them angrily with a look of unadulterated, murderous rage in his eyes. “Answer me. Where the fuck do you think you are going?” “I'm leaving.” Abby tells him bravely. “Oh, you are?” Richard asks in a calm tone of voice.
Abby and Gabe decided that he would go home tonight, but he would come back to ger her early in the morning, to take her to his home. That would give her the night to convince her mother to come with her and to hopefully find her belongings, so that she could bring a few things with her to her new home. Abby knew that Gabe did not want to leave her. That much was obvious, even without the frown and the lame excuses her kept finding to put off leaving. Not that she minded. She didn't really want him to leave her either. Finally though, she got him out and she leaned back against the door.
“No. No one does.” Abby begins to cry and he pulls her into his arms carefully, so as to avoid causing her any pain. He runs his fingers through her hair and holds her close to him, kissing her temple, her hair and her face repeatedly. “I want you Abby. I do! You are not unwanted because I am here and I want you. I need you, Abby and I love you!” “You-” Her eyes get wide and she pulls away to stare at him. “You don't.. love me..”
Over the next two days Lorenzo finds reasons to stop by and see Abby, usually staying a few hours to talk to her. He is nice enough to talk to and Abby enjoys the conversation, but she fears that he is reading more into it than there is, because he has gotten steadily more bold in his manner of flirting with her. He finds reasons or excuses to touch her, which ometimes makes her uncomfortable but he never takes it too far, or does anything inappropriate, so she does not let it bother her. Maybe she is just being overly sensitive to hi friendliness. She could be reading into things that are not even there. She because he is nice to her does not mean th
“You can still come with us, Abby. I would love to know that you are there for me, keeping Gabe company. He worries so much. I think that you would be such a nice distraction for him.” Liza continues, completely unaware that she had just completely shattered Abby's whole world and all of the beautiful illusions that she was under. “Actually, tomrrow was going to be hard for me to do anyways, I was just going to rearrange a few things to make sure that you were taken care of. But if Gabe has it covered, then I will leave it to him. But I will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way for a speedy recovery.” Abby tells Liza quietly.
