Adrienne's eyes widened in realization. "I suspected as much. I knew she was lying," she replied.

Silence settled between them, the weight of understanding slowly dissolving any lingering tension.

Adrienne stifled a yawn and stretched her hands, feeling the weight of exhaustion settling in.

"Are you planning to stay a bit longer or will you be leaving soon? I really need to get some sleep," Adrienne asked, her voice laced with weariness.

Daniel smiled and shrugged, "I don't have any plans for the rest of the day, so I'll stick around. Don't worry about me, go and get some rest."

A wave of relief washed over Adrienne's face. "Phew! Thank you so much. I'll catch up with you later," she said as she made her way up the stairs, her steps heavy with fatigue.

Suddenly remembering something, Adrienne paused. She turned back to face Daniel. "Oh, Daniel, I almost forgot! There's something I wanted to ask you."

Curiosity piqued, Daniel raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"
