Chapter 11

"What did you just say?" Adrienne asked Ryan once again.

"I just said that I am skilled at turning any situation into a profitable one. Why are you so upset?" Ryan inquired, clearly confused by her reaction.

Adrienne returned to her seat, taking a moment to compose herself.

Daniel joined them, announcing, "The car is ready. Let's go, Adrienne."

"Allow her to sit here for a few minutes. She became upset over something so trivial. I believe she needs a moment to collect herself," Ryan advised Daniel.

"My love, what's the matter?" Daniel asked, crouching beside her and gently caressing her cheek with his thumb.

"Let's just go now," Adrienne replied, standing up. Daniel held her hand as they exited the room together.

They climbed into the car, and Daniel turned to Adrienne, questioning, "What happened? Did he say something hurtful to you?"

"No, it wasn't anything serious. I simply remembered something," Adrienne confessed.

"Oh, I see. I suppose that's a good thing. What did you remember?
