As Anna got into her car, Jason’s words continued ringing in her ears. She didn’t want to believe whatever it was that he said. She would rather jump off a building than believe Jason who was nothing other than a liar, a cheat, and an abusive bastard.

Caspian was nothing like him. He wasn’t abusive or a liar like Jason. Although he annoys her the majority of the time and pisses her off more than anyone does, he was nice to her, making sure she eats on time and cooks for her most of the time.

As she drove toward the penthouse, she couldn’t help but think of the negative side as well. What if Caspian had really done as Jason said? What if he really tried to end his brother’s lives for money, for power? Elle and Jason had done the same to her in her past life and she wouldn’t support anyone doing the same to someone else. What if he wasn’t as good as he acts to be?
