“Of course not, Mother. I told you Caspian isn’t feeling too well. But don’t worry, he’ll come around soon. Right, honey?” She raised her head and peered at the man. Caspian’s fist clenched and with a curt nod, he agreed.

She led them both deeper into the hall. They passed a few of the guests who offered nods and bows to them as they made their way to the platform where the celebrant stood. Anna tore away from her husband and rushed to the side of the older woman, pecking her cheek and pecked her cheek lightly.
