He came up to the porch and took Tippa by the hand as they ran to the car. Ross quickly opens the car door, and she gives him the keys to her car so he can drive.

Out on the road, there were very few cars as the snow continued to fall nonstop for the past few days. They finally made it to the area where his truck was, thank goodness. His truck was deep in the ravine but it wasn't buried too deep under the snow.

It was like it rolled straight down into a mound of sloped ice and snow. There it was sitting there like you could put it in reverse and drive it out of the ravine. But that wouldn’t be wise, nor was the reality because weak ice disguised by snow could be present and wasn't solid. Too much pressure would only plunge the vehicle deeper into the ravine.

"You stay here, I'll climb down the ravine and get my suitcase. You only come out if I don't come back in ten minutes, okay?"
