Don't Stir My Heart

Her heart raced even faster as his fingers returned to touching her hair. Admittedly, it felt good to have him be this close to her again. Of course, Tippa couldn't convey such words to him, but she secretly enjoyed it. Tippa felt relaxed, but she knew she shouldn't, considering their existing relationship—there was none. He was her doctor and nothing more. She had to remind her heart of that several times.

Ross looks away and resumes back to brushing her hair. However, he wanted to have more conversation with Tippa. He rarely utters a word when in her presence after their last conversation. Now, he'd speak unless Tippa asked him a question; he didn't want it that way. But he knew she asked him to leave earlier, and he didn’t want to provoke those words out of her again. So he spoke only when necessary and did what she requested to keep her happy.
