Elijah was taken aback. Then, he nodded. “You’re right. We’re practically strangers. I…”

“Mr. Morrison, if you have nothing constructive to say, I’d like to excuse myself now.”

Tamara did not want to spend another second in Elijah’s presence. She turned to leave.

“Tamara.”

Elijah called out her name. “About what happened all those years ago…”

Tamara stopped walking, then turned toward him. “Speaking of which, after trying to have me killed over the years, you still haven’t given me valid answers to my queries. Are you able to provide me with the answers I seek now?”

Elijah had paled significantly, making him look like he had aged several decades. “Yes…”

Everyone left the cemetery together.

Tamara and Elijah sat across from each other in a café beneath the Sambia Hotel.

Elijah looked really cautious. He gazed at Tamara imploringly and did not seem at all arrogant or belittling like he did before.
