Mable

My Papa had been a transplant from a northern parish some years before he met my Mama who had been raised in coonass Cajun country. Papa loved her very much even though he didn’t agree with her “country superstitions,” he indulged her actions accepting them as “charitable deeds,” of a proper Christian woman. The “Red’s” as everyone called them were a strange lot of families that had grown together over the length of the family’s long history in the area. They didn’t take charity and were hard workin ole school Bayou folks. Mama’s kinda people.

She always found somethin around that needed tending or that Papa had “neglected” to pay the men and boys to do odd jobs for her. She paid them from her tediously managed grocery allowance which she painstakingly utilized sales and cut corners on things that were luxuries in order to pay them to do things here and there. She would slip the boys candies or freshly baked cookies when the men weren’t lookin and never neglected to speak kind

Aww, I like how Bri and Mabel could form such a seemingly easy and simple friendship. I'm still really glad that Mabel has that silence spell, though. No chance to slip up and spill secrets. Kay is in for a very rude awakening when she tries to make her move!!!

WyattI had called Beau before I started work since he would be home before me in two days. A lot could happen in that time and he was to call me after checking in. We couldn’t be seen fretting or acting any further out of character than we were already. Thankfully we were with different crews so the other shifters didn’t know we were away from the pack. Not that I was too concerned. Besides the slip-up with Kay that would get any woman’s blood boiling. For months she had been working with her gifts when we weren’t at home. She said that though she didn’t like being by herself, she needed the space and peace to focus, strengthen and explore her abilities. She refused to work with her darkness around anyone so everything seemed to bee working out keenly for the time being.I got a call 3 days later while I took a drive to Maria’s on a short break. I don’t think I ever answered a phone so fast before.“Beau?”“First off Wyatt, Boo is fine,” his voice rang clear through the cell phone. H

BeauWhen Mabel finally left Bri’s demeanor was brighter, warmer and that soothed me somehow. Watching them laugh, as Mabel moved with Bri throughout the day was refreshing even though I was annoyed wanting to seek the feel of her comfort after a few days away. I itched for that connection of our energy, of our bodies twining together. Bri needed more than just us and Mela had a pack, a family, and a hearth of her own to deal with. Though I preferred the scared woman over the human who had been silenced to speak of Bri’s existence among us. I was glad for her presence. Bri hadn’t delved into what we were just censored the information she was willing to offer Mabel in order to protect the rest.Bri was laid out across a blanket on the dock skin rubbed down with citronella to ward off the mosquitos as she read a new book. I had brought her a new pile back from the library. She was clad in only a sports bra and shorts, her bare feet crossed and bent over her beautiful ass. I crawled up n

BriBeau blazed a trail over every inch of my body that burned down into my tattered heart, my soul, my very being. He was right this wasn’t fucking. Our souls were bared to one another, the one line held between us, which we knew we could not cross for our own sanity, and yet we continued to tease ourselves, egging on the other to make the first slip. These men and I were addicted to the dangerous game we played. One wrong move and our lives would be impossibly bound and tethered for the rest of our existence. But I couldn’t throw away this, this love. I would soak it up, and bathe in it, as selfish as it was. We deserved so much more.We came up for air as he finally began to rock into me, sliding painfully slowly, deeper and deeper. His fangs grazed my collar bone and I whimpered with the need for him. I felt his smile quirk against my skin before he thrust suddenly up and I gasped. My lips grazed his skin in open-mouthed kisses on a path to his heart, as he moved within me the lig

BriI was sleeping soundly when Beau’s swearing and the sound of a motor stirred me awake. Beau snatched the blanket around me as I groaned sitting up. A growl rattled in Beau’s chest as Sean pulled up to the dock not bothering to tie off. “Beau, get her and anything that can trace to her out of here, the feds are going over our heads and it looks like those people are paying them to do things not entirely legal to get shit done. Put her somewhere they ain't gonna look, and I hope to hell ya’ll covered your asses.” He added as Beau pulled me up and the words began to register.“How long?” Beau asked as he rushed to put his jeans on.“Who’s with them?” I asked finally.“I didn’t take the time to get their names, a couple of well-dressed bean poles, an older man in a suit, and that muscled tattooed guy.“I’ll try to stall them,” his eyes scanned the sun that was just beginning to rise. They are starting south of here and will be here by noon.“Thank you,” Beau said, as he grabbed my clo

BeauLeaving Bri behind was hard, she was right I had to play this off like they were disturbing my peaceful Sunday afternoon. So I gathered the boys with me and their poles and tossed our lines in the water. Claude wore a big-brimmed hat to keep his eyes shadowed and Lou had a ball cap since they had less control holding their wolves back. Bas positioned himself nearer to the house as a last line of protection. The shotgun sat on the porch, a pouch with ammo slung over the rail when I heard the boat's drone far off. “Get me that gun Bas,” I said, out loud and he complied. I cocked it with deft hands. They were pulling up as Lou reeled in a scrap of a catfish and he swore glaring at the boats sidling up before chucking it back into the waters. “So much for fishing,” Lou grumped. We had talked about this. Try to act like their presence is an annoyance and we just want them hurried up and gone.“Beau,” the redheaded sergeant of the fish and wildlife crew acknowledged.“Tanner,” I said

BriI had made my way along the outside of the island inside the tangle of trees as I avoided using the machete so as to not pinpoint that someone had recently been there. A barred owl called and I looked up where it perched on a branch next to a gaping hollow. The ache in my head throbbed and pulsed as I squinted up at the cypress branches calculating if I could make the climb with the load of bags on my back. I had to try. My darkness was on edge, its tendrils flowing into my veins as I strained with the effort of pulling myself from one awkward branch to another. Until the owl fluttered away and I found the hollow to be vacant of anything unsavory. I dropped the bags inside and curled on top of them, the stillness and the quiet were suddenly unnatural. A heavy oily aura was creeping over the land. Darker and larger than I remembered that power that held me back so often from lashing out, from defending myself. The Dog’s presence was announced through the territory’s map in my mind

Beckham The little cunt bitch had ruined all my careful plans, she had brought this on herself. Everything I had worked for and endured under that dark bitch of the matron viper rested in gaining power over her and she had escaped us all. She was supposed to be under our thumbs. Under the command of our whims. I had a need for her power and she had the audacity to defy the only course I could allow, her complete domination so that I could ensure the only reason I joined this agreement was carried out in due course. I have waited long enough, I would find her and bring her back. Once she was ours again, I would not show her the mercy I once promised myself I would give her.The boat strode over the dark water as the sun began to set. The eerie landscape of this place is a testament to the power it holds. I could feel the churning blackness far within the swamp. My dark spirits would have to be a match for whatever the little bitch held under that careful mask she had worn all these ye

Bri The land sheltered me as if it were a sentient thing, its energy closing in around my darkness. The music faded and wispy bright forms appeared in my mind's eye. “Brianna,” their voices echoed. “we’ve been waiting for you, remember the light always consumes the shadows. You are the light in the darkest places, Love is as beautiful as it is vengeful, love is kind as it is destructive. I found my inner voice mute to respond “Listen,” the voices echoed as the talons of dark things clawed searching. I buried the light so deep I wasn’t sure if I could find it again. The voices repeated and faded into oblivion. I suppressed a scream as the claws raked into my darkness through the territory’s shield once more any deeper and I’d be marked by the demon ravenous for my blood above. I couldn’t fight back, couldn’t let them know I was here, that the wolves were here. Images of the girl threatened to close in she was different now older she had a notepad in her hand as she scribbled out the

WyattOn the ride to the truck, I found myself gripping my chest, Beau with his head leaning against the window did the same, the pain scorched and burned and though I knew the heartache would always be there this was more than my own. Beau’s eyes squeezed shut and a tear fell. I glanced at Zoey keeping quiet in the passenger seat leaning forward as she wound her way around narrow streets.“Promise me you will watch over her,” I asked. Zoey glanced at me as I gritted my teeth against the pain blooming in my chest.“You have my word,” Zoey answered quietly. I gazed out the window unseeing as the streets of New Orleans passed by.“I know she loves you both, very much,” Zoey said, swallowing hard. This had to be hard for her, knowing what Bri was sacrificing, what we all were, and being the only one who knew it all. A lump had grown in my throat as I gritted through the emotions of this “separation” and took a steading breath.“If she ever needs us, we will be there,” I let her know as Z

BriI woke to a rapt at the door moving felt wrong as the men growled in slumber and I pulled away, throwing one of their shirts on to answer the door. Thankfully it was Zoey as I leaned against the door jam not bothering to button the shirt and she handed me our bags. Her eyes scanned me as Wyatt came up behind me growling but I pushed my ass out to block him before he realized he was naked. Typical male Alpha bullshit dealing with his possessive female.I just passed the bags to him before I gripped Zoey’s hand like a vice as my emotions rose. “Give us some time, don’t leave me yet.” I bit my lip, emotions coursing through me.“I'm not going anywhere ma ami,” Zoey said, her eyes sad as they met mine. She knew the toll weighing on my heart perhaps, but not the one tethered to my soul. I nodded to her before ducking back into the room. My face fell as I faced them.“This is it,” I said, as both men approached me, my back leaned against the door.“We are only a few hours away,” Beau s

BriBeau placed slow-moving molten kisses down my back when he came to the dip in my backside where the dress covered my ass his fingers deftly began unclasping it when the skirt finally fell open, Wyatt undid the clasp at my neck and the entire thing slid into a glimmering pool of glittering fabric at my feet. Beau collected it and I stepped over it in my heels before he laid it out over a chair in the corner.Wyatt growled, “You went into that room without any underwear?”“Did you not see the dress?” he looked about to go feral on me and I was glad for it. Beau returned only to sink to his knees behind me as Wyatt's large calloused hands began to work my breasts as his tongue warred with mine. Beau’s lips pressed against the small of my back and descended. When he reached the seam of my ass Wyatt yanked one leg up high on his hip, steading me with an arm around my waist. The air hit my damp core and caused me to shiver. The next thing I knew Beau's mouth had found a mission. My dr

WyattBri had been magnificent, the amount of power that had poured through her, that she had siphoned into us for our wolves to take shape outside of ourselves had been immense. I could have said it shocked me, but that would be a lie. Our Moonbeam was more than a common witch. She hadn’t hesitated, barely batted an eye as she became judge, jury, and executioner to the Vipers who had done such unspeakable wrongs against her. She wore her scars for all to see and I loved her more for overcoming it all. It hit me then, this was our last night. Her very power marked her as the rightful head of this seat on the council. When she had claimed it, no one had dared to oppose her. When the doors had unlatched a few cowards took off. I watched her note them. Analyzing who they were and how she would have to manage the aftermath, those who would oppose this spectacle. I stood prone and mute as did Beau. Her father's supporters and those brave enough walked before her and bowed low expressing th

He looked too strong for his age as he filled out the light grey tuxedo, a plaid handkerchief tucked ornately into his pocket. He nodded looking around at the now vacant dias.“Seems like it’s ma turn Little Bird,” he said, his accent thick and not any I recognized. Bri scowled at him. “You can try tae kill meh, lass but it wulny work. Yae urny ready for aw the answers yae seek. It’s still tae be seen if yae earn them.“What the fuck is that supposed to mean,” Bri spat. “You were always a strange one, I could never quite figure you out,” Bri admitted. “That you weren’t the worst of them, doesn’t get you out of this Silas, you will be judged.” Bri pointed out.“Judge me aw yae wish, I care not. Beau“Fucking disgusting pedophile freak, and a necro to boot,” Brianna tutted, she looked at her fingernails and shook her head, “I wonder if I took more than your ability to walk when you came looking for me. Do you know how hard it was to not kill you on the spot every time you touched me? To endure it so I could get out? Just so I could gain my full strength to come back and seek retribution for everything? She smiled towards her mother, “You don’t get to go to hell for killing my father. You wanted purgatory and I have someone here that can send you somewhere better. And you won't have any power there, will she?” She turned casually to Wyatt in question. “No,” he growled out, his canines showing his face shadowed in the angles that marked him as a predator, as he sat precariously in the lane between shifting and humanity. I wasn’t any better off as I struggled to keep my claws in. Brianna set loose her mother.“You little bitch you ruined everything! From the day Pierre brought y

BeauWithin Bri lay the power of the moon, pure and clean and good. Their cruelty had created something far darker and more sinister within her. They didn’t anticipate how that darkness would protect the light. How Bri’s mind would find a way to survive everything they put her through, and how the mysterious girl would fuel the light with hope.Andrew smirked as the crowd gasped in awe. He bowed low. “I, Andrew Carlson, offer you my allegiance and my loyalty. I bid for your place as high priestess of the North American Council of Witches. I am a son of both the eastern house and the western, may they see the strength you have borne in your oppression, and the vengeance I know you will cast as a testament to the tides of change. ” He stood and his eyes locked on Sug’s, she held that stare. “Brianna has shown me the world of witches her father sought to join together. I for one share that dream, that all sects of our kind and humans can preside alongside each other in a natural harmo

Bri“So we have established that a rite was intended to take place, that my mother ordered my familiar killed, and Beckham dealt that blow. Andrew.” Andrew took a tentative step forward. “I ask that you speak only the truth, Andrew here is a victim too, he didn’t have a choice in this either, he was forced to follow his father’s wishes.” Andrew’s gaze looked over the crowd of fearful faces before looking straight at Bri.“I always knew you’d never walk away without justice being served, I am sorry for my part in this and how I treated you over the years. You were once my friend and I hope you can forgive the things I did and overlooked while under the same roof as you.” His eyes raised to the crowd, “I wasn’t much older than Brianna when my father started acting strange and fell under the seductive spell of Lorrain’s promises. Bri“On the contrary Lorraine, I am very present,” I said, striding before the dais. “I have come to see to it that you do not steal my father’s legacy and poison New Orleans as you did my Papa.” My voice was cold, hard, resolute. In this moment I let the warmth my heart had grown accustomed to leach into the men at my sides. Let her try to get out of this farce she made for herself.“Daughter, you are well,” Lorraine hid her surprise and I laughed darkly.“You do not get to call me daughter, after what you did to me. Allowed to be done to me. The abuse you exposed me to, in hopes you could wield the power I bear.” Beckham stepped forward gritting his teeth, eyes livid.“Child, enough of this nonsense,” Lorraine tried to reason.“You girl, owe us all a debt,” Beckham growled out. “I owe you nothing, if you ever thought I did that's on you.” I seethed. “Your little den of snakes stole everything from me,” I shot back. “You don’t get to pin a scared 14-year-old girl down and force her
