Thank you for the continued support for Healing Powers. I am still debating which book to start next. I hope to have an idea early next week. I appreciate the comments and always look forward to them. We are heading into the final segment of Healing Powers. Next chapter update is tomorrow. Ellie xo
Jenna POV I stand there in awe. I realize I am in a hospital shirt with nothing else on and feel incredibly undeserving of seeing the Moon Goddess dressed as I am. I show my neck to her in a sign of respect. I cannot imagine why I am seeing her at this moment. Am I dying? Have I died? Tears well up in my eyes as I consider the losses I will feel. She is wearing this angelic dress with long sleeves that drape on her arms. She moves with simple grace; almost like she is gliding as she moves. She has stunning white hair, with crystal blue eyes wearing a crown of flowers woven together. As my eyes move across her I reach her eyes to find her staring at me. I look at the Moon Goddess with tear filled eyes and a questioning look. She smiles at me sadly as she moves forward to take me into her arms. “Jenna, you have had a challenging time,” she starts to say. My heart fills with sadness. “Am I being punished?” I ask her unable to wait for h
Adam POV I could not believe Jenna had been returned to us. She was so strong. I could not believe she had destroyed the Rogue King and lived to tell the story. We did have another issue, but that could wait for Jenna to be ready to face the world. Right now, she just came back from who knows what. I simply stare at her in awe. Awe that she returned to me. She puts her hand on my face. I put my hand over hers, just basking in the amazing feelings of holding one another. “We got lucky,” I murmur to her. She nods her head as tears fill her eyes. “What?” I ask her as tears track down her cheeks. “I saw the Moon Goddess,” she says softly. I am shocked. But she has not seen the marks yet, she does not realize that the Moon Goddess is protecting our bond. “I had to make a choice to keep my powers or to release them,” she continues quietly. She looks down, “Because I killed the Rogue King, I should have to pay,” she adds. I look at her co
Adam POV The next couple days with Jenna were a blur. We spent most of our time together. She continued to get stronger and was taking to her Luna duties quite quickly. She also worked at the Pack hospital a few hours a day, giving Doctor Rivers a much-needed break during those times. You could see her passion for healing in everything she did. She had not tried to use her powers, regardless of how much I had encouraged her to try. I still could not wrap my head around a Moon Goddess who would punish her for saving the Pack. I had just got to my office, when I heard of a disruption at Josie’s cell. Racing over there, I mind-link Sam but find I am blocked by him. I mind-link Jack, who agrees to meet me there. As we both arrive at the doors, we hear yelling coming from inside the dungeon. We had since moved Josie to the dungeons simply because we could not keep her in the holding cells indefinitely. We race down to her cell and see Sam and
Jenna POV A week had passed since I killed the Rogue King. I still carried the heavy burden of what I had done. Adam wished I had not done what I did, but I honestly do not see any other way we could have achieved destroying him. I still missed having my powers. Adam keeps encouraging me to try and use them, but I am fearful to try and then have them not work. For now, I am living with not knowing. It helps that something that would benefit from my healing powers has not occurred either. Adam and I were getting along very well. We had settled into a comfortable routine. I felt like I was the most important person in the world to him. We have a date night tonight so I am just preparing for it. This will be the first date he and I have gone on together. With everything that has been happening, with Josie and Sam in particular, we have not had a chance to go out like this. Josie and Sam are still at war with one another. Sam refuses to ac
Jenna POV Adam and I enjoyed an authentic Italian supper last night. The ravioli was my favourite part of my meal, well that and the garlic bread. I could survive on their garlic bread. Melted three cheese combination on homemade bread. Delicious. Adam had been to the restaurant before. When we went in, they were excited that Adam had found his mate. They were a wolf run restaurant and very kind. We had a private table toward the back. Adam and I spent most of our time talking about the future. How many kids we will want, what our plans are for the Pack. It was an amazing dinner and the connections we made were inspiring. From there we went to a Pack owned club. We ran into some of our Pack members so we invited them to our VIP seating area. Given that I knew how to party, it was great to meet some Pack members who liked to get out and enjoy themselves. I had missed a bit of getting out. Not that I would want to go without Adam, but
Josie POV I fell to my knees after Sam walked away from me. His acceptance of my rejection was devastating to my soul. What there was of it. The truth was there was nothing more that I wanted than to accept Sam as my fated mate. But he deserved more than me. More than a mate with a tarnished heart. I could feel the darkness within me. It caused me so much pain and embarrassment. I could not know what mating and marking me would do to Sam. I could not take the chance that he would assume some of my traits. I had nothing good to offer Sam, I could not take the chance of sharing that with him. I had my face in my hands crying my eyes out, when I realized I was not alone. My body went tense as I looked over my shoulder. I cringed when I saw both Adam and Jenna watching me. Confusion in their eyes. “What the hell do you want?” I sneer at them as I turn away from them wiping my eyes and trying to compose myself. “Why did you do i
Jenna POV Calling the parents in, Adam following close behind, I advised them that their pup would be alright. He would be up and playing in no time. I suggested they could wait while it takes him a bit of time to wake up. Given that I was able to heal him, I knew it would be a few hours before he would be awake. Asking the parents if they needed anything before I stepped out of the room, they quickly replied no and thanked me for helping their pup. Adam and I walked out of the room before I pulled him into my office and shut the door. Adam was confused at my haste, until I jumped into his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist. “If this is how you react every time you help someone, I am moving my office here, Red” he chuckles as he nuzzles my neck. I laugh, “No you silly, I have big news,” I say to him. He leans back to look at me, “Oh?” he asks. “That little boy had a grim outlook, but I was able to heal him,” I scream whispered to Adam
Jenna POV As I sat there trying to focus on the Mate Gala planning, I was swept away with thinking about Josie. Did she do anything that really warranted she not get a second chance? She had raged when her brother died. Who would not? She rejected Sam. Again, selflessly not wanting to taint him with her blood. The more I thought about healing her the more excited I got. It would be a different approach than what was forced on me with the Rogue King. I would never survive another healing attempt in that way. I know Adam will fight me on this, but I feel like this is something I am compelled to do. There is something that has drawn me to Jenna. As I sit here, I recall how Eric was adamant that this someone special to him be healed. And that it was his sister. If he had one ounce of compassion, it was for his sibling. For whatever reason they did not like one another. But when push came to shove, they were there for each other. And wh
Six months later ... Jenna POV I sat feeding my pup, Grace. She was the most beautiful little girl I had ever seen, but I am sure I am quite bias I think with a chuckle. She had dark hair like her daddy, and silver eyes like me with her angelic features. Adam was an amazing daddy to his little girl. He got up with me for all feedings and took her to his office often to give me a break. There was no me and him; it was one hundred percent us. I loved him more for that. Grace had been born two months ago. I do not know how, but I was blessed with a very quick labour and delivery. I suspect it had something to do with Gracie’s impatience at wanting to be born. She was ready to see this world and meet her family. We knew from the moment of her birth she had a strong aura. You knew you were in the presence of someone special. Her eyes were bright, and she has been aware of her surroundings since the first moment she opened them. It would n
Adam POV As I come through the forest and come upon the scene in front of me my heart sinks as I see yet another ring of rogues surrounding Jenna. I can see the two warriors in front of her being destroyed as Tim makes his way towards her. I roar my anger as Jake pounces forward destroying all rogues in his path. My only goal is to get to Jenna. When I heard from her it was Elder Fred who had betrayed us, I was filled with rage. I wanted to destroy him myself, but I see someone beat me to it as his insides are spilled out on the ground in front of Jenna. I know, from Jenna, that the Pack members present are unable to shift as they were affected by the wolfsbane. It also explains why they could not communicate with me. Fortunately, the rogues were not bothering with them, and I could see the women were pushing the children away as best they could without drawing attention to themselves. I make my way through the crowd of rogues along with th
Adam POV It felt great to have Sam back again. I am sure there is some story behind his mystery woman, but that would be a conversation over a cold beer once we cleared out the rogue situation. I shifted midstride, destroying my clothes but there was no time to stop and change. Our warriors were updating us that the numbers of rogues entering our territory were higher than we had seen before. They might be an army, but they were not a healed army so there would be disorganization amongst them. They would fight for so long before their own goals would shadow what the current head rogue wanted. And it concerned me that the head rogue could be Tim. He knew more about Jenna because of his connection to the Rogue King and Wendy. Clearly it put him at an advantage we would have preferred he not have. As I broke through the clearing, Sam and Jack were close on my heels. I could not believe what I saw. There were at least thirty rogues fighting o
Adam POV Jenna’s father was brought back into the courtroom. Her mother, Luna Ashley, was also brought in for her husband’s sentencing. She sits directly behind Alpha Gordon, with warriors on either side of her. Everyone was required to stand as the judges returned to their seats. They looked solemnly at those of us present. “There is no winning side in today’s proceedings,” the judge starts to say. “There is only room for justice. The atrocities committed by Alpha Gordon Frasier in the case of trying to kidnap his own daughter, in return assisting with the kidnapping of someone else, plus supporting the development of a rogue army leave us little wiggle room for sentencing anything less than life in prison,” the judge concludes his spiel. Jenna’s mother screams and the warriors must grab her to keep her from lunging toward the judges. Alpha Gordon slams his fist down on the table, breaking it in half as he stands also threatening the judg
Adam POV Since Jenna’s mother’s revelation that the rogues were coming for us, I have rallied our troops to get them ready for an impending attack. I have tried to reach Sam with no luck. It is unusual that I would not be able to reach him, but I had to assume he was having a good time. He was due back by the end of this week. I would worry if he did not show up then. Jenna’s mother disclosed nothing more than the statements, “I expect they will be here any time now.”. That had been a couple of days ago. Jenna had a lot of time for painstaking self-reflection during this time. Well reflection on her entire life. How parents could treat their daughter as they had was still beyond reproach to me. Jenna was also suffering thinking of Josie. Not lost on us was the fact that Eric tried to become her mate. That reflects how little everyone knew of the deceit of Jenna’s parents and the Rogue King himself. Had they known the truth, they may have avoided a
Jenna POV It had been a couple days since we had incarcerated my father. My mother had arrived with more flair than I had ever noticed before. When she first saw me, she walked over to me standing beside Adam and Jack. I had expected a hug. What I got was a slap in the face. The parking area echoed with the slap against my face. Adam quickly grabbed my mother’s arm breaking it. “How dare you touch my mate?” he yells at her. “Oh please, you did not want her in the beginning and now you expect me to believe you have changed. It is because she is a healer and the strength she brings to your Pack!” she shrieks. I cringe back hating being reminded of our start. And now I have to wonder if my parents ever really cared for me, or did they only like what I brought to the table? “Why did you bother keeping me a secret?” I ask her as she stands there nursing her broken arm. “What?” she asks me confused with my question. “Why didn’t you tell others I had he
Adam POV I could not believe what I was hearing. Like this made some kind of sense to Alpha Gordon. I could feel the tension and heartbreak that Jenna was feeling. I had wrapped my arms around her, feeling her coldness in the dank dungeons. I tried to move her, but she was standing firm. She was not finished with her father. “What do you get in return for turning me and Josie over?” Jenna asks her father. He looks at her confused. “Jenna, you are safe for now. They have Josie,” he says like he has saved her. “That’s just it, I am safe for now, what happens when they need me? Are you going to kidnap me yourself?” she asks her father. “Jenna, you always were so dramatic,” her father hisses. “What is the harm in healing the men and women to help them?” he asks her. We all look at him incredulously. “You want me to heal an army of rogues who want to destroy Packs?” she asks him slowly. It is like he does not see the harm of what he is sa
Adam POV Jenna had taken a seat on the couch. Jack was standing against the wall next to where she sat. And I was sitting behind my desk. I had been advised two warriors were on their way with Tiffany. The door was open in expectation of their arrival. As the warriors entered the Pack house, we could hear Tiffany screaming profanities at the warriors. They clearly were not bothered by her words as they suddenly appeared with her in the doorway. Pushing Tiffany inside she fell to her hands and knees in the middle of my office. As she turned to scowl at the two warriors, I yelled, “Enough!”. She was startled and suddenly looked around the room realizing where she was. A look of fear crossed her face briefly before she smirked at me. She had the audacity to smirk. She stands in front of me, “You called for me, Alpha? Finally, had enough of your Luna?” she taunts. I see Jenna tense out of the corner of my eye, but she does not rise. I can
Jenna POV I try to get away from Adam scrambling on my hands and knees to get to my father. I hated him in this moment, but I did not want him to die. Adam held me back until he was certain the shooter was no longer a threat. He and Jack protected me with their bodies as we hurried to where my father had fallen. I immediately see that my father has a gun shot through the chest. I quickly role him and see that the bullet went through him. I am uncertain what might have been hit with the shot, but it is a good sign that the bullet went through him. I tell Adam so they can start looking to make sure the bullet did not strike anyone in the diner, while I go to work on my father. I do a discreet scan and see that his heart was nicked with the bullet but everything else is fine. I do a quick fix that does not require a lot of my healing efforts. I put my hand over the bullet hole and hold it there while his wolf tries to stop the bleeding. Bein
