Jenna POV I was up and mobile early the next morning. I was excited to see the contract offer. I waited impatiently for it and finally decided I better go eat before I missed breakfast. I walked out of my room, heading down the stairs. I see Sam walking out of his room, meeting me on the stairs. “What are you doing up so early?” he says to me. Looking at him with my eyebrows raised, “I should be asking you how come you are so late getting up?” I say to him with a smirk. Laughing, “Okay you got me. Jenna POV I was going to be late for my coffee date if I did not hurry. I had noticed the Pack door open as I swung out of the parking lot but did not slow down otherwise, I would definitely be late. It was quickly after that I saw a car pull out and speed up to catch up to me. Realizing Adam must have had a warrior follow me for protection detail I shook my head. I should not have been so lost in my reading and considered he would want to know where I was going. This was the disadvantage of not having the option to mind-link one another. Speaking of my research, what I had learned so far had been minimal. I would have to share the details with Adam sooner than later. I needed to find other research materials before I could come to any conclusions. Jenna POV I got home and reviewed the contract in great detail. I could not believe the offer. It was better than what I had been offered originally at my old hospital. I say old because there is no way I can refuse this offer. I have the chance to specialize in various areas, including surgery. The salary compensation is comparable, and I will have my own patients whom I will oversee, with Doctor Matthews input, of course. I was not a full-fledged doctor yet, but I was being given the opportunity of a lifetime. I ran down the stairs to see Adam. He, Sam, and Jack were in his office when I burst in. I apologized first and then walked over to where Adam sat at his desk. I showed him the details of the contract, which he agreed were amazing. I then looked at him suspiciously, “Did you have anything to do with this offer?” I ask him. He throws his hands up, “I swear, I did nothing but open a door for you. This is all you,” he promises me.

Jenna POV Adam and I spent the next couple of days planning the Luna ceremony. From the catering, which we agreed on outsourcing so that the Omegas could attend the ceremony without having to worry about preparing food or serving. To the event itself – it will be semi-formal for those attending. Adam and I will be in formal outfits for the event. We have a photographer coming to get pictures, which excites me. I would love to have a nice picture of Adam and I to frame for our first official event. We have also sent out invitations to those Packs within the alliance. Elders have been invited and the Pack itself, of course, was invited. Adam has some reservations about inviting those in the alliance. Until we can understand what is going on with the rogues and who might be supporting them, he is reluctant to have many in attendance. But as I reminded him, better to keep people close and observe them in our environment versus their own environment.
Healing Powers Chapter 46
Adam POV “Because she is our future,” the rogue replied. “What the hell does that mean?” I yell at him as my warriors bound through the trees to stand beside me. The three rogues shift and turn to run off as my warriors chase after them. They are still on our territory, so I jump into the run and try to snag one of the rogues. One leaps off our territory and takes off before we can catch him, but the remaining two are caught. One fights with our two warriors who captured him. Unfortunately, his attack warrants a lethal counterattack, and he is fatally wounded. The other is wounded but will heal on his own. We take the captured rogue to our holding cells for Sam and me to question. I make my way back to the Pack house as the remaining warriors dispose of the dead rogue’s body. Jenna POV The expletives that ensued after I shared the end goal with the guys made the air blue. “Absolutely not; you are not leaving this Pack again Jenna, until we neutralize the threat,” Adam says. Sam and Jack nod in agreement. I sigh, “Guys, that is why you are trying to figure it all out, to ensure nothing happens,” I say to them. “Red, we cannot guarantee your safety unless we keep you on Pack lands,” Adam says to me adamantly. Looking at Sam and Jack he continues, “We need to postpone the Luna ceremony. We cannot have random Packs entering our territory for the event,” he says. Sam and Jack again nod in agreement to my annoyance. “I am starting work at the hospital tomorrow. I will have a guard; you will have to deal with that. Jenna POV The past week had been amazing. Doctor Matthews is an incredible doctor and mentor. My first week with patients was equally incredible. I was forming bonds with people under my care. I was able to use my healing powers a couple of times, which managed to save the patients having to undergo surgery that would have taken weeks to heal from. I also had time to spend on my Luna duties. We spent the week preparing for those Packs who would be arriving for the Luna ceremony. We only had two of the eight Packs decline their invitations. Nobody had been overtly curious about the rogue problem, and it was frustrating Adam. He was hoping that someone would wave a flag and indicate they were the Pack working with the rogues. I understood his frustration and I admit I was anxious about the upcoming ceremony, but I had so much to focus on. Adam POV Jenna’s father was brought back into the courtroom. Her mother, Luna Ashley, was also brought in for her husband’s sentencing. She sits directly behind Alpha Gordon, with warriors on either side of her. Everyone was required to stand as the judges returned to their seats. They looked solemnly at those of us present. “There is no winning side in today’s proceedings,” the judge starts to say. “There is only room for justice. The atrocities committed by Alpha Gordon Frasier in the case of trying to kidnap his own daughter, in return assisting with the kidnapping of someone else, plus supporting the development of a rogue army leave us little wiggle room for sentencing anything less than life in prison,” the judge concludes his spiel. Adam POV Since Jenna’s mother’s revelation that the rogues were coming for us, I have rallied our troops to get them ready for an impending attack. I have tried to reach Sam with no luck. It is unusual that I would not be able to reach him, but I had to assume he was having a good time. He was due back by the end of this week. I would worry if he did not show up then. Jenna’s mother disclosed nothing more than the statements, “I expect they will be here any time now.”. That had been a couple of days ago. Adam POV Jenna had taken a seat on the couch. Jack was standing against the wall next to where she sat. And I was sitting behind my desk. I had been advised two warriors were on their way with Tiffany. The door was open in expectation of their arrival. Jenna POV I try to get away from Adam scrambling on my hands and knees to get to my father. I hated him in this moment, but I did not want him to die. Adam held me back until he was certain the shooter was no longer a threat. He and Jack protected me with their bodies as we hurried to where my father had fallen. I immediately see that my father has a gun shot through the chest. I quickly role him and see that the bullet went through him. I am uncertain what might have been hit with the shot, but it is a good sign that the bullet went through him. I tell Adam so they can start looking to make sure the bullet did not strike anyone in the diner, while I go to work on my father. I do a discreet scan and see that his heart was nicked with the bullet but everything else is fine. I do a quick fix that does not require a lot of my healing efforts.
