Adam POV

I had woken up early afternoon, feeling guilty for my last words to Jenna. I had no right to question her commitment after she spent the night looking after my Pack members. Particularly when our own Pack doctor had frigged off. He was next on my list of duties, after I checked in with Sam and Jack.

Grabbing a quick shower, I throw on jeans and a black t-shirt. I had no meetings today, so it wasn’t necessary to be dressed for business. I make my way down to the dining hall to grab a coffee. I was late for lunch, and I would not expect my Omegas to prepare something for me, even though they had offered. Coffee would suffice until supper.

Mind-linking Sam and Jack to meet me in my office, I started to walk out of the dining hall when I saw Wendy waiting in the lobby. “What the hell are you doing here?” I ask Wendy. She knew she wasn’t permitted in the Pack house as part of her punishment. I had moved her to the Omegas lodging after

Hmm, I wonder who the omega is? My first thought was Wendy but she’s not omega. Shame he’s on the out’s with witches, could have come in handy! I still think Wendy is helping the rouge’s to get rid of Jenna so she can become Luna herself. I hope Adam can redeem himself to Jenna but not make it easy

Adam POV I walked back out of the cells and made my way to the Pack house. I walked around to the front and was surprised to see Jenna’s car in the parking lot. I was more surprised to see her sitting in her car staring straight ahead. She looked lost. I walked over to her car and opened her car door. I bent down trying to ask her what was wrong, but she would not reply to me. She didn’t even look at me. I took her arm, which startled her into awareness. I gently pulled her out of the car, helping her to stand when she seemed shaky on her feet. I noticed her purse and bag across the seat, so I leaned Jenna against the car while I reached across and got her stuff before standing and softly closing the door. I took her elbow and started to walk her across the parking lot toward the Pack house. Sam walked out looking at me concerned. I shook my head indicating I didn’t know what was going on. I continued to walk forward, and Sam held the

Adam POV I made my way back to Jenna’s room to retrieve her cell phone. I looked around her room but didn’t see it. It must be in her backpack. I move over to open it and notice a funny smell associated with the bag. Almost like it is a clinical smell. Similar to the smells at the Pack hospital. Opening the bag I see a used pair of scrubs, which I toss into her laundry basket. Rooting through I still don’t see her phone. Realizing I had missed her purse, I look around and spot it on the table beside her bed. Opening that I root around. Man how do women find anything in these satchels, I wonder to myself. I finally find her phone when I also find stuck to it an identification card. Doctor Jenna Frasier, from a hospital about an hour or so away from the Pack. What the hell did she have this for? Who is this woman? She’s supposed to be a spoiled rich girl. Does she volunteer at the hospital and is faking being a doctor? I have no idea, but I know

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 26

Jenna POV Looking at my identification badge, I realize Adam is aware that my fake shopping trips and being self-centred may not entirely be accurate. I was shocked he had my name badge at first but then I realized of course he would have come across it when he was looking for my phone. I pick up my phone and put a call into my parents. Not reaching them I leave a message for them to call me back. However, as I leave the message, I realize what I have to do. I need to come clean. If rogues are attacking the Red Pine Pack because of me, then Adam needs to know why and how to counter the attacks. I sit for a while by myself focusing on my healing. I feel more in control now, realizing that the infection was quite serious as I couldn’t heal it myself. It reminds me of my limitations, which takes me back to Jessica and my limitations in helping her. Yes, we found out what was wrong; unfortunately, it was not soon enough to save her.

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 27

Jenna POV “For now, we do our best to keep it a secret from the rest of the Pack. I only know one warrior who is aware, and I have Alpha commanded them to not share the information with anyone else,” Adam says. “Who knew?” Sam asks. Adam looks a little uncomfortable, “Wendy was there the night the warrior was attacked. The rogues told them about the healer being a red head,” he says. Feeling a wave of uneasiness roll over me, I consider what Adam is saying. Wendy, of all people, is aware of what I am. Whether she can speak to it or not, is irrelevant. She knows something of danger to me and the Pack. “We will need to keep a close eye on her,” Sam says looking equally uncomfortable. Jack nods, “It is no secret she does not like Jenna,” he adds. We all knew the implications of Wendy being aware of anything that relates to me. Adam looks uncomfortable but I do not feel any sympathy for him. This just brings my anger back around everything that had happened. If he had not b

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 28

Adam POV Just as we were making some progress with Jenna she shut down. Her emotions were all over the place. I wanted to take her in my arms and help her, but she did not want that. I had to appreciate that she was struggling with the loss of the human child. I did not understand it, but I wanted to be supportive for her. I was pissed to see Wendy hovering around the door. I did not know what she had heard, but her presence was not welcoming. Grabbing her by her arm, I tossed her in my office startling both Sam and Jack. Disgust rolled over both their faces. I had not realized how much they had disliked Wendy until Jenna came to the Pack. I am realizing now how blind I was to things happening around me. “What were you doing out there Wendy?” I asked her. “Nothing, I had just grabbed lunch at the dining hall, and was looking for Jack to get my assignment for the coming week,” she says looking at Jack. Jack looks at her with confusion.

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 29

Adam POV My heart sank. What had started as a good day with Jenna starting to trust us and open up to us had turned to a shit storm. Clearing my throat, “What do you mean doctor?” I ask optimistically. My stomach churns waiting for his reply. “We were able to remove most of the excess blood from her brain. She does have one small spot which is still bleeding. It is a slow bleed, so I am going to monitor it and hope it clears on its own,” he says. Okay that doesn’t sound so bad; what’s the catch? “There could be some short-term memory loss when she wakes up,” he continues. “Well, we will have to wait and see,” I interject. Nodding his yes, “The concern for me is that while we were operating, she slipped into a coma,” Doctor Rivers states. What did that mean? People went into comas all the time, particularly wolves when they had to focus on healing themselves. It was like the doctor could read my mind, “Unlike when we put them into an indu

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 30

Adam POV It has been three days since the attack. Jenna had not yet awoken. Her parents had arrived within hours of me calling them. They had stayed by her bedside, except for eating and sleeping. I was with Jenna most of the time. I did grab a shower and change of clothes, provided her parents were with her. Her parents spent most of their time talking to her, reminding her of things that happened when she was growing up. Some of the stories were funny, sharing tidbits about her with me. Tidbits that I cherished learning. As much as Jenna wore a persona of being a spoiled woman, she was anything but. From a young age she had always put others first and her parents’ stories proved that. At one point, we thought she was waking up. Her eyes were fluttering and looked like she was trying to open them. But she did not, and we were left with that lost feeling once again. Her father had to return to the Pack. Duty called and he was frustr

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 31

Adam POV “Who are you?” Jenna asks. I am confused and stare at her. Is she serious or is she messing with me? Her mother looks at me and then at her daughter. I mind-link the doctor to get here immediately. Luna Ashley takes Jenna’s hand, “How do you feel sweetheart?” she asks Jenna. “I have a headache and I am thirsty, but I think I am okay,” she replies to her mother while watching me cautiously. My heart is breaking at the thought that she doesn’t know who I am. I step forward and take her hand. I still feel the sparks there and from the look on her face, she feels those same sparks. “You have been visiting me. Why?” she asks. I am quickly realizing she is remembering pieces of her past but not all. Doctor Rivers rushes in moving Jenna’s mother out of the way so he can check Jenna over. He does a thorough exam asking Jenna various questions to test her memory. I see a look of concern cross his face as he wonders about her rememberi

Six months later ... Jenna POV I sat feeding my pup, Grace. She was the most beautiful little girl I had ever seen, but I am sure I am quite bias I think with a chuckle. She had dark hair like her daddy, and silver eyes like me with her angelic features. Adam was an amazing daddy to his little girl. He got up with me for all feedings and took her to his office often to give me a break. There was no me and him; it was one hundred percent us. I loved him more for that. Grace had been born two months ago. I do not know how, but I was blessed with a very quick labour and delivery. I suspect it had something to do with Gracie’s impatience at wanting to be born. She was ready to see this world and meet her family. We knew from the moment of her birth she had a strong aura. You knew you were in the presence of someone special. Her eyes were bright, and she has been aware of her surroundings since the first moment she opened them. It would n

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 102

Adam POV As I come through the forest and come upon the scene in front of me my heart sinks as I see yet another ring of rogues surrounding Jenna. I can see the two warriors in front of her being destroyed as Tim makes his way towards her. I roar my anger as Jake pounces forward destroying all rogues in his path. My only goal is to get to Jenna. When I heard from her it was Elder Fred who had betrayed us, I was filled with rage. I wanted to destroy him myself, but I see someone beat me to it as his insides are spilled out on the ground in front of Jenna. I know, from Jenna, that the Pack members present are unable to shift as they were affected by the wolfsbane. It also explains why they could not communicate with me. Fortunately, the rogues were not bothering with them, and I could see the women were pushing the children away as best they could without drawing attention to themselves. I make my way through the crowd of rogues along with th

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 101

Adam POV It felt great to have Sam back again. I am sure there is some story behind his mystery woman, but that would be a conversation over a cold beer once we cleared out the rogue situation. I shifted midstride, destroying my clothes but there was no time to stop and change. Our warriors were updating us that the numbers of rogues entering our territory were higher than we had seen before. They might be an army, but they were not a healed army so there would be disorganization amongst them. They would fight for so long before their own goals would shadow what the current head rogue wanted. And it concerned me that the head rogue could be Tim. He knew more about Jenna because of his connection to the Rogue King and Wendy. Clearly it put him at an advantage we would have preferred he not have. As I broke through the clearing, Sam and Jack were close on my heels. I could not believe what I saw. There were at least thirty rogues fighting o

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 100

Adam POV Jenna’s father was brought back into the courtroom. Her mother, Luna Ashley, was also brought in for her husband’s sentencing. She sits directly behind Alpha Gordon, with warriors on either side of her. Everyone was required to stand as the judges returned to their seats. They looked solemnly at those of us present. “There is no winning side in today’s proceedings,” the judge starts to say. “There is only room for justice. The atrocities committed by Alpha Gordon Frasier in the case of trying to kidnap his own daughter, in return assisting with the kidnapping of someone else, plus supporting the development of a rogue army leave us little wiggle room for sentencing anything less than life in prison,” the judge concludes his spiel. Jenna’s mother screams and the warriors must grab her to keep her from lunging toward the judges. Alpha Gordon slams his fist down on the table, breaking it in half as he stands also threatening the judg

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 99

Adam POV Since Jenna’s mother’s revelation that the rogues were coming for us, I have rallied our troops to get them ready for an impending attack. I have tried to reach Sam with no luck. It is unusual that I would not be able to reach him, but I had to assume he was having a good time. He was due back by the end of this week. I would worry if he did not show up then. Jenna’s mother disclosed nothing more than the statements, “I expect they will be here any time now.”. That had been a couple of days ago. Jenna had a lot of time for painstaking self-reflection during this time. Well reflection on her entire life. How parents could treat their daughter as they had was still beyond reproach to me. Jenna was also suffering thinking of Josie. Not lost on us was the fact that Eric tried to become her mate. That reflects how little everyone knew of the deceit of Jenna’s parents and the Rogue King himself. Had they known the truth, they may have avoided a

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 98

Jenna POV It had been a couple days since we had incarcerated my father. My mother had arrived with more flair than I had ever noticed before. When she first saw me, she walked over to me standing beside Adam and Jack. I had expected a hug. What I got was a slap in the face. The parking area echoed with the slap against my face. Adam quickly grabbed my mother’s arm breaking it. “How dare you touch my mate?” he yells at her. “Oh please, you did not want her in the beginning and now you expect me to believe you have changed. It is because she is a healer and the strength she brings to your Pack!” she shrieks. I cringe back hating being reminded of our start. And now I have to wonder if my parents ever really cared for me, or did they only like what I brought to the table? “Why did you bother keeping me a secret?” I ask her as she stands there nursing her broken arm. “What?” she asks me confused with my question. “Why didn’t you tell others I had he

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 97

Adam POV I could not believe what I was hearing. Like this made some kind of sense to Alpha Gordon. I could feel the tension and heartbreak that Jenna was feeling. I had wrapped my arms around her, feeling her coldness in the dank dungeons. I tried to move her, but she was standing firm. She was not finished with her father. “What do you get in return for turning me and Josie over?” Jenna asks her father. He looks at her confused. “Jenna, you are safe for now. They have Josie,” he says like he has saved her. “That’s just it, I am safe for now, what happens when they need me? Are you going to kidnap me yourself?” she asks her father. “Jenna, you always were so dramatic,” her father hisses. “What is the harm in healing the men and women to help them?” he asks her. We all look at him incredulously. “You want me to heal an army of rogues who want to destroy Packs?” she asks him slowly. It is like he does not see the harm of what he is sa

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 96

Adam POV Jenna had taken a seat on the couch. Jack was standing against the wall next to where she sat. And I was sitting behind my desk. I had been advised two warriors were on their way with Tiffany. The door was open in expectation of their arrival. As the warriors entered the Pack house, we could hear Tiffany screaming profanities at the warriors. They clearly were not bothered by her words as they suddenly appeared with her in the doorway. Pushing Tiffany inside she fell to her hands and knees in the middle of my office. As she turned to scowl at the two warriors, I yelled, “Enough!”. She was startled and suddenly looked around the room realizing where she was. A look of fear crossed her face briefly before she smirked at me. She had the audacity to smirk. She stands in front of me, “You called for me, Alpha? Finally, had enough of your Luna?” she taunts. I see Jenna tense out of the corner of my eye, but she does not rise. I can

  • Healing Powers   Chapter 95

Jenna POV I try to get away from Adam scrambling on my hands and knees to get to my father. I hated him in this moment, but I did not want him to die. Adam held me back until he was certain the shooter was no longer a threat. He and Jack protected me with their bodies as we hurried to where my father had fallen. I immediately see that my father has a gun shot through the chest. I quickly role him and see that the bullet went through him. I am uncertain what might have been hit with the shot, but it is a good sign that the bullet went through him. I tell Adam so they can start looking to make sure the bullet did not strike anyone in the diner, while I go to work on my father. I do a discreet scan and see that his heart was nicked with the bullet but everything else is fine. I do a quick fix that does not require a lot of my healing efforts. I put my hand over the bullet hole and hold it there while his wolf tries to stop the bleeding. Bein
