Veronica struggled to get the metal cuffs off her wrists and ankles but couldn’t succeed.

“Doing that won’t help you; just tell us where he hid Daisy, and I’ll let you go,” Mario muttered, sighing loudly.

It's been some days since I captured Veronica but she has refused to spew out Daisy’s whereabouts.

I sighed and got up from the chair that I was sitting on then sauntered to the bed Veronica was tied to.

“Give it up already. Evan is under lockup for domestic violence, and he won’t be getting out anytime soon,” I muttered, and she stopped struggling, her eyes bulging out in shock.

“What?” she gasped out, shaking her head as fear filled her eyes.

“It’s so sad that your lover is gone even before you could get your plans done,” I said and Mario chuckled mockingly.

“I don’t love him!” she rasped out and my brows furrowed in surprise.

“Of course, you don’t,” the door opened, and Rosy walked in, her cold eyes piercing Veronica contemptuously.
