The horror scribbled on Rosy’s face made guilt rise slowly in my body.

The knife dropped from my hand and its piercing sound echoed in the corridor as it kissed the bloodstained marble floor.

I looked at Rosy’s face again and found those accusing eyes on me.

“Rosy…” I whispered and reached out to touch her but she backed away, shrieking in fear.

“Don’t touch me, you’re a murderer!” She snapped, her chest rose and fell as she gapped at me in horror.

The word ‘murderer’ rang in my ear, making my chest constrict.

Murderer? Did I kill someone? Did I?

“You’ve killed him, Caleb, you’ve fucking killed him!” Rosy yelled out a reply to my silent questions.

I gasped out and looked at my hands. My throat knotted and my body froze as the blood smeared against my palm glared at me.

I killed him, I killed him for Rosy.

I looked into Rosy’s eyes even though the emotion in it made my heart shrink.

“It was self-defense,” I muttered and she scoffed loudly, shaking her head
