Fairy lights

Jace was darn near bursting, it momentarily got my mind off my own dilemma. Jace being mad was definitely a favorite pastime.

“She is not. My sister.” He said stiffly, just as Lily’s cheeks colored.

Jeremy’s laughter died down as he looked between them, no doubt embarrassed he made the mistake.

“She's actually mine…” I added with a sympathetic smile.

“Oh, my bad…The way they were arguing, I thought…my mistake.”

“It’s nothing to worry about.” I assured him. “Right, Jace?”

“Nothing.”

“I mean, if we’re being sentimental she would be a perfect little sister to you.” I grinned at him.

“Thank God she’s not, I would’ve shipped her to France.”

“I’d rather be in France than here with you.” Lily muttered as she chipped pieces of the table.

Hannah turned the concoction she was making into one of the empty glasses and pushed it towards Lily and winked.

She muttered her thanks. “I should return these, in case the bartender needs ‘em.” She packed up the shakers and hurried away from the table.
