12.Jealousy

"Come on Jay, you can't cancel the party," I whined at him.

"Just let it go, Jess. Why don't you go to my room? I will grab some drinks for us." Saying he walked into the kitchen.

I'm lost in my thoughts sitting on Jason's bed and thinking about my relationship with him.

I'm the cheerleading captain and Jason is the most popular guy in our school. It only made sense that I dated him. Not to forget the fact that he is the heir to Elite Constructions and his goddamn good looks.

All the girls envy me, but I still feel that something is missing in our relationship. Many guys want to date me and give me whatever I asked for, but still, I chose Jason. Jason got the looks, money, and everything except I don't feel like he gives much importance to me in his life.

It only made sense that my boyfriend picks me up at school. But no, he has to drive his little brother and Amelia every day. Just when I think I have his full attention, Amelia comes into the picture and his total attention turns to her, he tries to do something to irritate her or prank her. His eyes shine whenever he sees her with mischief.

Once when Tony pranked her by using superglue in her chair in the cafeteria because Jason always pranks her and irritates her. He thought Jason would appreciate it, but he received a black eye and warning to never bother her again.

He never bothered even if some guys flirted with me or passed comments on me. He used to chuck them saying it's all part of high school.

Even at the time, I want to go to a friend's party with him. But he decided to go to an amusement park for her birthday to babysit her. When all my friends agreed to go to the amusement park, I thought I could go and spend some time with him. The entire time he keeps worrying about his brother and that little bitch.

The day in the amusement park had been going well till Jason Saw Amy with Ryan and Sophie at the twist drop ride.

"Running away like a chicken?" Jason said looking at Amy walking away from the ride.

Amelia turned back looking pissed with his mere presence.

"I'm not, I just choose to not get into this ride" she snarled at him.

"Yeah, because you are scared" he continued to irritate her. I don't know about her but I'm the one getting irritated here.

"No, I'm not," she said crossing her hands at her chest.

"Yes, you are" he mocked her.

"Get lost you pig" saying she turned away from us and going in the other direction. Thank God finally.

"Aww, little kitty is scared!!" He looked amused and it made her stop again in her tracks.

"Oh let her be darling, she is too small for this ride and she is probably scared, let's go" I insisted snaking my arm around his. I don't want him to give unnecessary attention to her.

"I'm not scared and I would ride this one" she growled at us placing her hands on her hips.

"I dare you" he challenged her looking at her with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

God! Tell me why I'm dating this guy!!

"Amy, no need let's go," said Sophie her best friend pulling her away from us.

"There is no need to prove to him, let's go Amy and you Jason just stop bothering her at least on her birthday," said Ryan

I saw Amelia walk towards the ride with flared nostrils and an annoyed face but her legs seemed shaky.

I looked at Jason to see him looking at Amy with an amused smile on his face.

"Let's go," I said tugging his arm to get him away from this goddamn bunch of kids.

"She will be hell scared to ride alone." Saying he walked behind her smiling. I felt a pang of jealousy hit me so hard at that moment.

Cindy smirked at me saying. "Did your boyfriend ditch you to sit with a kid?"

"It's nothing like that. I want to go to the washroom." I hurried away from her feeling embarrassed and angry at the same time.

It's gone worst when her parents died and she became an orphan. First, he skipped school so that he can stay in the hospital by her bedside keeping his mom company.

Even after she gets her consciousness, he starts attending school, but all he ever talks about is about her and how withdrawn she has become. I couldn't do anything but listen to him. He is so worried about her.

I never saw him getting worried about anyone much. When she finally started attending school. I finally breathed a sigh of relief.

I had to use my tears to tell him that I miss him so much these days and he was not spending his time with me and how it's been a long time since we went on a date. At last, we planned a day out together.

That day Jason picked me up from my home. He took me to watch a movie first. After the movie, he picked a high-end fancy restaurant. I was so happy. I think he understood by now that I only like fancy restaurants. Last time he took me to In and Out. I had to give him so many subtle hints about it.

He pulled out a chair for me to sit. My heart beamed with joy at the way he is treating me. He was so sweet to me the whole day.

I smiled and sat down. After he sat across me. He looked at me and asked, "What do you want to have?"

After ordering our food we sat talking with each other. He made sure everything is to my liking.

We are talking to each other and getting to know what happened in the past 1month. And suddenly our talks were disturbed by the loud ring of his mobile.

He takes the mobile from his pocket. He looks over at me and mumbles "mom".

I nod at him. He picks up the call.

"Hey, mom."

"What happened? Are you okay?" He asks, panicked. I can't help notice the change in his mood drastically.

"What? Okay, I'm coming right away." Saying he stands up from his seat.

He looks at me guilty mumbling "I'm sorry Jess, I have to go."

"Everything okay? Do you need me to come?" I ask him.

"No need. I can manage." Saying he placed

a kiss on my cheek and dashed out to his car.

He left me in the restaurant without paying the bill. I have to call the jock from Crestview High, who is trying to get my attention and made him pay the bill.

At night he called me to say sorry again but only then I understood the reason why he left me halfway through lunch and it made my blood boil in anger.

And today is the worst, Mrs Brown, who always spoke to me with a smile on her face, ignored me twice!! She didn't even look at me or even replied to me. All she can talk about is Amy, Amy, take care of Amy, don't trouble Amy. It's as if the whole world revolves around Amy in this house.

"Jessica, where are you lost?" Jason snaps his fingers in my face.

I saw that he brought some drinks and chips for us and placed them on the table.

"Nothing, Let's watch something." I grabbed a bottle and plunked myself on his bed, where he joined me and we started to watch Netflix from the flat tv on the wall across his bed.

I noticed that he is lost in his thoughts. I asked him what's bothering him.

"I think what my mom said is right, I couldn't hold a party, with Amy and Sophie in the house. You know how drunk high school boys behave. How wild they get with alcohol in their systems."

There he goes, thinking about Amy again. I want him to think about me all the time instead of her.

I tried to move closer and snuggle with him. He placed his hand around my shoulders, but still lost in his thoughts.

Kristina always gave more love and affection for Amelia than me, but today, whatever happened is too much. I need her away from Jason and his family.

"What happened to your mom today? She was so rude to me? All she cares about is Amy only. It hurt me today that my boyfriend's mom gave more importance to some stranger than me." I said cautiously looking at his face. I observed his jaw clench at the word stranger.

"Amy is not a stranger Jess. Don't say that again." He said in a serious tone but again added, "I noticed how mom behaved today, I will talk with her when she returns."

Annoyed with the way he is behaving, I stepped out saying I need to make a call.

I saw Amelia getting down the large curved staircase and going towards the kitchen. I followed her to go talk to her and ask her to stay away from my boyfriend and his family.

I went and saw that she was calling out for Martha, but neither Martha nor the maids appeared before her, maybe everyone is in the servants quarters behind the mansion. She switched on the light for the pantry and walked inside. She is searching the racks for something and calling out for Martha.

"You are claustrophobic right? Let's see" I thought to myself smiling.

Once again, after making sure that no one was coming, I immediately locked the pantry door and switched off the light.

I know that there is no other light source in the pantry except for the one light bulb which I turned off. Amy came banging the door.

"Who is it? Open the door!! Jason this is not the time to pull a damn prank. It's so dark here. I'm scared. please open the door." She shouted while banging the doors. I even made sure to turn off the lights in the kitchen and walked back to Jason's room.

"Dad called me Jason, some guests are visiting. I have to go home." I told him. I don't want people to doubt me.

"I thought you were going to stay a little more time?" He asked casually.

"Yeah, but dad called, his old friend is coming over for dinner with family. I don't want to but I have to go." I told him.

"Okay, let me drop you then." He said standing up.

"No, it's okay. I will take uber."

"Don't be silly, wait I will ask the driver to drop you." he walked me to the main door and asked the driver to drop me safe and come back.

I kissed him on the cheek and left in the car. I don't care if she gets a panic attack or cannot breathe or even die in there. I sat feeling accomplished in the car.

I asked the driver to drop me at the convenience store saying I have to get something. After making sure that the driver left I made a call.

"Hey Lee, Jessica here. Did you forget me after lunch the other day?

" How could one forget such a gorgeous girl? I am going to a party. Do you mind accompanying me as my date?"

"Oh, sure, I would love to come as your date."

"I will send you the location."

"Okay thanks, will reach in 20." I smiled victoriously. Many guys are next to Jason in looks, fame, and wealth.
