Asher.

I could hear the music from the frat house from a mile away. Not because it was that loud although it was loud even for human standards. A rogue hunter wouldn't come near a place like this. The discomfort and potential damage to his ears wouldn't be worth it. But me? I was used to it.

Or maybe it was part of my abnormality. Not being able to control when I transform and not being as affected by sounds like normal werewolves. Checked out.

The house came into view. I had wanted to slip in through the back but it would seem there was no hope of that now. There were people everywhere. I could smell the booze and sweat and, god! the lust.

They didn't need a reason to party. All they needed were drinks flowing in surplus and students willing to show up.

There were people making out all over the place. A girl had her tongue so far down a guy's throat, I was concerned he was going to throw up. It looked like half the campus was here. Which would not even be surprising. Todd Hanle

Dante“Beep, beep, beep,” my alarm clock buzzed, pulling me from my beautiful slumber.“Shut up,” I mumbled, turning off the alarm and turning to the other side of my bed to continue with my sleep. A few minutes later, the clock buzzed again.God, I hate Mondays. I hate my new life. Life was perfect till my mom got transferred to another city and that meant I had to change my environment. Although I’m already used to the constant relocation, I thought that would be the last since I’m entering university, but according to her, she can’t handle me staying back alone.I had a life for crying out loud. My girlfriend, buddies, and the amazing grandma that lived next door, name them. At this point, I think my alarm clock and I should switch places. Maybe I wouldn’t have to worry about preparing for school. I grumbled and pulled the duvet over my head to think about my life.Just then, I heard a light knock on my door but I decided to ignore it. The knock came again along with my mom’s voice

DanteMy breath hitched as he walked close to me. He had this smirk on his face and I could tell it wasn’t a good one. I took a few steps backward till I collided against the wall. Maybe the Latino dude was right. I am dead.Today is my first day in school and I’m already caught up in this. There was an intense silence and the worst was that nobody was making an attempt to save me from this handsome jerk. They were all standing, looking at the unfolding drama. Just then, his wristwatch beeped, making him stop in his tracks. He let out a little smile and ran his hand through his curly dark hair.“You are in luck. Catch you later, weirdo,” he said coldly and I felt a shiver run down my spine. Why does the ‘Catch You Later’ feel like a threat? He turned on his heel and walked away, and I let out a deep sigh. I hadn’t even realized I was holding my breath as he got closer. My hands were clutching my backpack tightly to my shoulder. People who had gathered around to watch were beginning

DanteA loud bang on my door jolted me awake. My heart was pounding like it might stop any second. I sat up trying to catch my breath.“Hey, new guy. C’mon, open the door,” a familiar voice called from the other side. It was Mateo.I sighed, half annoyed and half relieved. What a nuisance.I lazily dragged myself to the door and opened it.“You aren’t dressed yet?” he scoffed as he scanned me from head to toe.“Dressed for whatI asked yawning loudly.“The party, dummy.”I know I said I wanted to attend the party earlier, but now I’m having a second thought on that. I wanted to return to my sleep.“The thing is…” I started but was immediately cut short by him. He nudged me on my shoulder letting himself in.“No excuses, Dante. You don’t have to sulk yourself in the room forever. You need some social experience.” He walked to my closet and started throwing my clothes unceremoniously on the bed. Dante’s POVI walked into the room and perceived a stench smell. My clothes were littered around the floor too. Who would have done this?“Who is in there?” I asked, still standing close to the door.I bent over to pick up my clothes, but something caught my attention. Long claw marks were on the floor and a little on the wall. At first, I thought it was a dog and wondered what a dog could be doing in my room. The last time I checked, I locked my door before leaving with Mateo. The marks were still fresh, and deep enough to send shivers down my spine.Maybe someone was trying to play a prank on me as a fresher, and they must be really good at it.I jolted when I heard the door to the bathroom creak. It was as though something or someone was watching me from there. I grabbed my night lamp, holding it high above my shoulder and ready to deal with whomever or whatever that is in there. I heard a faint crackling sound and felt something shift under my foot. I looked down and saw that it w

One thing I’m not really good at is knowing how to control my wolf. I was casted out by my pack and forced to blend with the human folks, which has been great so far and wasn’t as bad as I had imagined. Eleven years ago, during the blood moon ceremony, a catastrophe occurred. The only thing I remembered was waking up in the middle of the event with my hands and face filled with blood. The white and golden robe I was wearing was soaked in blood.Everyone was staying clear and staring at me with fear written all over their faces. The right ear to be exact. I placed my hand over it and moaned pitifully. It hurt.I moved my hand to further right and upward, and felt a small bump. I had hit my head. I felt around for any sign of bleeding, but there was none. I still felt woozy though. Pulling myself to my feet took up more effort than I thought it would. Dante. “You're kidding.” I chuckled lightly and turned back to what I was doing, “Nice one Mateo.” “Dude, I'm really not.” He replied seriously. I turned back to him and could instantly see from his face that he wasn't kidding. “Would there happen to be another Asher Lowell on campus?” I asked.Silly question. Of course there wasn't, but a tiny part of me hoped he'd say yes, there was. And he was a really nice guy who didn't punch freshmen for sport. “Nope. Just the one you know.” Mateo replied sadly. Well shit. “I was shocked too. I mean, what were the odds huh?” Mateo shrugged. “When did you see it?” I asked, still hoping to find the 'gotcha moment' Mateo was sure to pull any moment now. “This morning. There are new students coming in today. Needed to go get their files so I can get them settled in. Happened to see your room number and the two names beside it.” “And you couldn't change it? Asher. He smelt heavenly. I felt my wolf bristle as he walked by me. My heightened sense of smell could still pick the alcohol from last night on his breath and the dried up pee in his pants that he hadn't bothered to change. And the fear. The fear smelt delicious. I didn't want to think of him as prey. It was generally in every werewolf’s interest not to think of humans as prey. But him? Him I wanted to hunt down. I wanted to box him into a corner and watch him cower and beg. Then I'd draw close enough that he'd feel my breath on his neck. He would shiver in equal parts delight, and terror as I run my hand up his chest and wrap them around his windpipe. His lips would be soft, drawing me in. Begging for more. His hard… "Aw Goddamit, Dean!" I spoke to my wolf internally. Those were all his thoughts, not mine. I groaned and threw my bag on my bed. “What? He's our mate. I can't help it.” Dean whined. I could feel him pouting. The mental image made me smirk. “Your mate maybe

Dante. He patted his buddies on the back to bid them goodbye and weaved his way through the stream of students towards me. “Hey! I for sure thought you weren't going to make it to class.” He fell into step beside me. “Yeah thanks for the vote of confidence man. Really appreciate it.” I grumbled. “No problemo.” He smirked. “You freaking abandoned me dude. What the hell was that about?” I whispered furiously. “Oh come on. Don't take it personally. I had to save my skin. I had no business being there in the first place.” Mateo replied breezily. “Save your own skin meant letting me take the fall for something you said?” “Hey, you took the fall by yourself. Besides, what would you rather have had me do? Stand and fight a guy in his own dorm room?” Mateo raised an amused brow. “No. Not really.” I knew there was nothing Mateo could've done to salvage the situation. I understood what he meant by saving his own skin, but that didn't mean I couldn't be pissed about it. “And anyway, y

Dante. I grumbled in annoyance with myself as I stomped down the hallway. It wasn't until I got out of the dorm rooms and into the open that I realized people were looking at me funny. Who could blame them? I probably looked like shit. Smelt like it too. There had to be some sort of public bathroom on campus. Like in the gym maybe. I reached into my backpack for the map that Mateo had given to me alongside several vouchers and pamphlets telling you how to get the most out of college and to stay away from drugs. I found those but I couldn't find the map. Turning out to be a really shitty day. Should've taken Mateo up on his offer to show me the way but I thought I still had the map and it didn't matter because he fled the room the second he got a chance to anyway. I looked around, trying to get my bearings. This was part of the things I hated about relocating and changing schools so much. Everything is new. You have to learn new roads and street names and ways of doing things.
