Leia’s POV.

Six hours have passed since Randolph and I left Calix’s chamber. I couldn't shake off the feeling something was amiss.

“Relax, my love. Calix has it all figured out,” Randolph soothed, taking another scoop of his pottage.

We were in our chamber. We were eating—was it lunch or breakfast? It’s difficult to tell with all the storm still raging outside.

“I can’t shake off the feeling something is off,” I muttered, twirling my spoon between my fingers.

“You’ve barely touched your food,” Randolph reminded, his gaze flickering to the untouched bowl of pottage sitting in front of me.

“I will eat. But I need to be sure Calix and Emily are okay.”

Randolph sighed and lowered his cutlery to the table. “If I go to their chamber and confirm that all is well. You will eat your food, promise?”

I nodded, a slight relief surging through me. “Yes.”

I watched the father of my unborn child step away from the table and strode out of the room.

My eyes flickered green and locked onto Adria as she emerged from behind the black pool, her form wreathing in a swirling black mist. “You think brute strength will be enough to defeat me?” she taunted, twirling her fingers as darkness coiled around them like living tendrils. “How naïve.” Still gasping, I glared at her. Emily’s POV. For the past weeks, my soul has wandered in this unknown land, trapped by the spell of the witch. Over here it was dark, cold, and malevolent. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been chased by strange creatures, monsters with only bones and shadows. My throat burned from thirst, my stomach churning from starvation. But none bothered me, like the chains binding my hands together. This was the reason I would always run upon sighting the monsters—because with my hands bonded, I stood no chance against them…like now. The grounds began to vibrate, and then split open. A shrilling cry broke out in the atmosphere. My heart pounded in my ears, adrenaline coursing through my veins. A massive clawed hand shot out from the fissure. Then another. As I expected, a bone and shadow creature emerged, screeching as it hauled itself from the abyss. My eyes widening in sheer horror, my feet buckled before my mind could catch up. Emily’s POV. My world stood at a standstill. For a fleeting moment, it was as though all air had dissipated from the atmosphere, leaving me breathless and suspended in time. I grabbed my gown. But just as I was about to sprint across the courtyard, someone held my arm, and it was Randolph. “Please, be calm, Your Highness,” he pleaded. The pain in his eyes mirrored mine, but he was holding himself together—for me, for the court…for Calix. Tears blurred my vision, falling in torrents down my face. “I need to see him,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “I need to hold him.” “You can, you will—but that’ll be once we’re inside,” he added. He was right though. Dispersed across the courtyard were people; servants and guards, looking up to me. I needed to show them I could hold it together in such a difficult time. Taking a steadying breath, I stepped away from him as Leia stepped forward and draped a cloak over my shoulder. “You’ve got this,” she whispered. “Thank you,” I

Emily’s POV. “My wolf?” My lips quivered as the question tumbled from my lips. It sounded too good to be true—perhaps, it was just a figment of my imagination. But the voice came again. “Yes, it's me, your wolf. Please don't freak out.” I was already on the verge of freaking out. I couldn't believe it— I was finally meeting my wolf. “My wolf? What’s your name?” I stuttered. “My name is Rehya.” Rehya. The name felt familiar, as if it had always been a part of me, waiting in the shadows for the right moment to be spoken aloud. I let it settle on my tongue, tasting its weight, its meaning. “Rehya,” I whispered, rising to my feet. A warmth spread through me, wrapping around my heart like a long-lost embrace. “Yes,” she said, her voice soft. “I’m here now, Emily. We’re whole now, never to be separated again.” Tears pricked my eyes, but I swallowed them back, forcing myself to focus. “How are you here? Didn’t the witch mention locking you away? She chuckled—a laughter

Calix’s POV. I was trapped in the abyss, wandering the desolate land when suddenly a bright light appeared above in the sky—the same bright light that had swallowed my mate up moments ago. It’s true, the spiritual controls the physical. Happiness shimmered inside me upon beholding the light, especially as I glanced down at my wounds and noticed them healing at an insanely fast pace. “Calix.” I heard it, my mate’s soft, sweet voice beckoning me. The bright white light swallowed me whole, and my soul swirled back into my body. I jerked and relaxed under the touch of a familiar palm on my forehead. Her scent wrapped around me—that intoxicating scent of lavender and myrrh. My lashes fluttered open, and the world blurred to focus. “Calix!” Leia gasped in the background. “Calix! You’re awake!” she cried. My gaze landed on my mate, just as she staggered. I caught her wrist and held her in place. A faint smile spread on my lips, a feeling of completeness

Calix had carried me into the washroom, gently lowered me back to my feet, and prepared our bathwater. I wasn’t sure if this trip was a good or bad idea. But one thing was sure after my mate brought me back to consciousness last night—I wanted to make things right. I wanted to smoothen all paths and strengthen every relationship between friends and family. Whether I liked it or not, Alpha Thane was family since I was going to be officially starting a family with his daughter. Perhaps, an absolution for him—a second chance to mend the past. “Yes, Han. Emily’s POV. Beads of sweat rolled down my skin as I ran through the dark forest. My heart pounded in my ears, the icy cold air slicing through my throat. I glanced behind at my assailants and saw them snarling as they lashed after me. Two-legged monsters, the kind I’ve seen only in my father's books. A devastating scream left my lips. I veered left and scouted over dead leaves and stones, the forest was like an endless circle, no matter how much I ran there seemed not to be an edge. The ground became a blur beneath me. I turned to glance at my assailants and bumped into him. “H-help me!!” I cried, grabbing nothing but a fine set of muscles as I clutched his arms, “ Please, help me!” The stranger. He stood tall, his shoulders broad as the walls of a city. He was wearing a cloak which covered his face. An inexplicable sensation tumbled my existence as our skins touched. Never

Calix’s POV. The storm howled wildly as I walked down the streets of Tyr. But I paid no mind to it. My cloak billowed in the wind, my boots leaving imprints in the mud after each step. In a moment, I arrived at the port, and just like the rest of Tyr, I find it empty except for the vessels floating on the water. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck next to me. Without a doubt, it was the witch trying so hard to scare me away as though I was some child. A smirk tugged at my lips. My resolve unshaken, I continued walking/teleporting down the port, and arrived at the foot of the mountain. A reverberating thunder rolled across the sky. I exhaled sharply and willed my claws to emerge, and then dug into the closest rock. The rain slicked the stone, making each grip precarious, but I pressed on, climbing the cliffside with steady determination. A sudden gust of wind slammed against me, nearly prying my fingers free. Gritting my teeth, I drove my claws deeper into the ne
