When we get to Roman's house he directs me to drive to the garage and park the car there.

We get out and I hand the keys to him and bring out my phone to order my Uber.

Roman stares at me intently, I don't even want to know what is going on through his head so I neither ask nor do I bother trying to figure it out.

He speaks, "You know, you could stay here"

I look at him for a moment to confirm he did indeed said what I just heard, he gives me a shrug. I guess I heard right.

I shake my head, "I can't, Roman" Stay here? Like sleepover at his house? Like spend the full night sleeping at his house? I can't believe he just ask me that out of the blue.

I continue on with my phone, ordering the Uber.

Roman continues with his line of conversation, undeterred. "It's pretty late, they don't let Ubers in this late" He tells me.

I narrow my eyes at him. That sounds like either a stupid rule or a lie, my money is on the latter. "You

Oh. My. God. This cannot be happening to me right now. I shut my eyes and count from one to five hoping and praying earnestly that when I open them again, the bed sheet would be perfect as it should be. I get to five and reluctantly open my eyes, unfortunately my prayers go unanswered. The stain which I am so sure is blood from the sharp pain of cramps I'm having in my abdomen all tells me what I need to know. My period came early. Thankfully Roman is not in the room right now, since I'm wearing Roman's shirt and a pair of dark joggers I had borrowed from Robyn, my yesterday's clothes are free from any stain and I can put them on while I hightail out of here. I also have spare tampons in my bag but what am I going to do about the stain on Roman's bed? An idea pops into my head. Robyn! I could call Robyn and ask that she gets me spare bed sheets. I could change the present one on Roman's bed and take the stained ones with me, get them laundered

I turn around to face the doorway so fast the towel loosens and nearly slips from my chest. Roman walks in with an expression of scary calm, he studies me from head to toe as I hurriedly rewrap the towel around my body. I force a smile, why didn't Damon delay him more? I haven't gotten my nerves under control yet. I look behind Roman at Damon to convey my displeasure and Roman follows my eye sight. He looks from me to Damon, he knows something is up. "Damon, get out. She's barely dressed" Roman calmly tells he's cousin, his gaze still fixed on me. Roman's eyes tells me I have some explaining to do. Damon doesn't complain but gives me one last glance before walking away and leaving. Now, it's just me and my scarily calm boyfriend who goes ahead to shut the door, leaving me nearly naked, absolutely nervous and with no escape route. "What was that about?" Roman asks me bluntly, walking closer to me in slow steps like a predator. And

Roman asserts that he will be driving me back home even though I suggested he rests. He tells me to wait for him by the house entrance while he gets the car from the garage. Just as he leaves, Damon drives pass in an Audi. I remember the car from the day Roman and he gave me a ride home after my car broke down at an abandoned gas station on my way back from the grocery store. I recall that that day was the first time Roman and I ever had a conversation where we weren't biting off each other's head. "I can see you are in one piece" Damon comment. He smirks and adds, "And clothed" I want to glare at him but I remember how he helped me delay Roman from unlocking the bedroom door, I owe him one. "Thanks for helping me out earlier" i send him a knowing expression to convey what I'm referring to. Damon winks, "Anything for my favorite cousin's girl" He grins before driving off. His favorite cousin's girl? Unless I've been wrongly informed, R

I'm Moody all through the next week. Cassie and Robyn notices but I keep telling them nothing is wrong whenever they ask. I mean, i want to talk about it but where do I start? Also, Roman's father is Robyn's uncle. I don't think it would be nice of me to blatantly bad mouth her uncle to her even if he more than deserves it. As for Roman, we barely hang out this week. Whenever he asks, I come up with an excuse to decline. I know he senses something is up with me but just doesn't want to push me. On Thursday evening, I'm home alone after declining an offer from Cassie to go shopping with her and Robyn. Apparently, Elijah is making up to Robyn for some offense by taking her on an all-expense paid shopping spree. Not one to forgive him that easily, Robyn invited Cassie who then invited me to go with them with the mission of spending as much of Elijah's money as possible. It sounds fun but I know I will only ruin their time with my solemn mood. I t

"Lindsey Marie Jordan!" I hear a loud voice similar to my mom's scream my name causing me to jerk awake. I can't see properly because my hair falls as a curtain over my eyes and face, I attempt to raise up a hand to shove the mass of hair from my view but I can't move my arms. What the hell? I settle for shaking my head repeatedly until a chunk covering my left eye slips off and I can now see clearly again. "Oh shit!" I exclaim. I'm lying down on Roman, in our living room couch. Unlike my face that is filled with horror, Roman looks calm. His eyes are wide open, barely any sign of sleep remaining. I look forward to see my mom standing over us and glaring. Oh boy... "Let go" I mutter to Roman, he obeys and his tight grip loosens enough for me to break through. "Good morning, Mrs Jordan" Roman greets my mom politely like what is happening here is a normal occurrence. My mom blinks at Roman's calm tone, I understand her surprise.

On Thursday morning, a day to Roman's birthday, I send him a text message to leave his schedule after school clear and free because I have a surprise planned for him. His reply made me laugh. Sexiest Man Alive: Please tell me the surprise involves a lot of movement on a bed with little to no clothes on?? Wink emoji I chuckle at the words on my phone screen before responding. Me: How about you clear up your schedule after school and you get to find out..? His reply is instant. Sexiest Man Alive: Consider it done, Cookie. After school I send another text message to Roman asking him to come and pick me up at my house. I would have preferred to pick him up from his and drive to where I have the surprise planned out but the fear of running into Roman's father after the last encounter keeps me away. Roman agrees to come pick me up at 6 pm like I requested. Fifteen minutes to

"Damn babe, this is really good..." He compliments, his gaze fixed on the steak in front of him as he takes another bite with a relish. He spares me a glance with raised eyebrows as he discovers me still standing at the same spot he left me at. He turns and pours himself a drink from the bottle of unopened wine I got from Robyn. "I don't mind you not sharing the steak with me, it's so delicious I want it all to myself but I think you'll hurt your feet if you stand throughout this picnic date. Also, is it still a date if you're standing five feet away?" Roman asks me, just as he grabs another piece of steak and takes a bite. This time, I don't wait to hear his moan of enjoyment as I hurriedly walk to the blanket and take a seat opposite him. Roman looks at me with a smile so soft I think I might just be dreaming. He picks up another piece of steak and holds it up to my mouth. Wait, is he doing what I think he is? Is he trying to feed me

The afternoon before the night that is Roman's birthday party, Leo comes up to my room to inform me that some delivery man is at the door with a package for me. "A delivery man?" I question, I didn't order anything. "Cassie did you order anything and request to have it shipped to my address?" I ask my best friend who I know has a habit of ordering stuff online, although why would she tag it's delivery to my house is not a reason I'm aware of. Cassie, who is currently taking up a significant space on my bed, answers, "No. I did not" What sent it then? I wonder. Or could it be that...I walk out of my room and to the door where there indeed is a delivery man waiting, beside him is three packages all wrapped up in carton colored paper so I can't even predict what could be inside. Spotting me, the man asks. "Miss Jordan?" I nod. "Yeah, that's me" He stretches out his hand holding a paper on a clipboard. "Please sign here" He instructs me.Uh... "Can I know who sent the pac

I always call him father, never dad for many years and we’re both used to it now.He points at the chair in front of his desk for me to take a seat and I do.I don’t waste a mom

On Monday after Christmas break, I drive my new new car to school. For the first time in months, I’m alone in a car. I’m driving myself rather than getting driven around like an invalid and it’s all thanks to Roman.Just like he had told me, he spoke to my mom and yesterday she even took me to shop for car accessories for my new car. Since I no longer have to worry about her feeling some type of way about Roman buying me a car, I enjoy the feeling of driving the sleekest car I have ever been in, except for Roman’s cars. When I get to school, I park my car and from the tinted glass of the windshield and windows, I can already see the students of Rixon High surrounding me, wondering who is in the car. Nearly everyone knows what everyone drives and so, a brand new expensive car such as this is bound to draw some attention.I should’ve made Roman come with me for the first day but I’m a big girl and I thought I could handle all the looks and whispers on my own. When I open my door and exi

My hand holding my phone shakes as I find Roman’s contact to call him. As my finger rests about an inch away from dialing Roman, I hesitate.I don’t know how to do it, not call him but tell him I’m refusing his gift. Even though I told mom that I’m not rejecting the gift because of her, I think I was lying. A brand new Mercedes Benz car that looks like that must cost a lot, too much. But, the thought of finally owning my own car after always having to beg Leo and ask Cassie for rides all the time feels so good. Sadly I can’t keep it. I harden my mind and call Roman. He answers on the first ring as if he has been waiting for me to call. “Do you like your car?” Is the first thing he says to me. He sounds so anxious like he can’t wait for my answer and hopes I say yes. “I… I do” I answer after a moment of hesitation. I hear Roman breath out with relief. “Thank God. I was getting worried that you didn’t like it, babe” My throat hurts as I force out the words I know he wouldn’t li

Lindsey’s POVOn the morning of my birthday, I wake up feeling all sorts of special. The night before, I had gotten both Christmas and birthday gifts from my mom, Leo and my friends. Leo had gotten his as well but I’m already used to sharing my birthdays with him. I gave him his gift as well. Last night, after I had unwrapped all my gifts, Roman had taken me out to dinner and while he didn’t say specifically that he was taking me out because of my birthday, I assume it was my birthday present. I loved it because the food was awesome and the company, his presence, was even better. I rise from my bed and do a little twirling on the floor, I’m just so happy. My mom yells my name from downstairs and when I quickly rush down, I see mine and Leo’s birthday cake ready with candles on the dinning table.I smile at the sight. It has always been a tradition for as long as I can remember. Mom always bakes a blue and a pink cake for Leo and I for our birthdays, the pink one for me and the blu

I turn to my cousin with a frustrated and doubt filled look. Damon raises an eyebrow at my facial expression. “Do you want my help or not?” I grunt, “Yeah I do. What type of car do you think I should get for her?” I ask him hopelessly. Damon shrugs, “A lambo or something” He replies. My jaw drops in shock, “A Lamborghini? Are you insane!?” My cousin snorts, “Don’t tell me you think it’s too expensive, she is your girlfriend whom I know you love so don’t tell me you’re deciding to be stingy with her gift” I ignore him saying I’m in love with Lindsey, I am but I’ve never told him or anyone, I haven’t even said the word to Lindsey and I should, I plan to tell her on her birthday, but that is not the point of my conversation with Damon right now. A lambo? I’m groan out, “Please where is Cassie and Robyn? I need them back.” I shake my head in exhaustion. Damon gives me a glare for doubting the reasonability of his idea which is an absolutely ridiculous idea. “Call Cassie and ask h

Roman’s POVIt is a few days to Christmas and even fewer to Lindsey’s eighteenth birthday. I have been in a bind all week contemplating a birthday gift for her. I have even brought in Damon, Robyn and Cassie to help me out with ideas and while they have tried by presenting me with numerous options, I’m not satisfied. I’m not very good at gift giving. Having so much money usually means I buy the most expensive things for my friends and family as gifts, but with Lindsey I can not exercise the same level of indifference or carefree attitude. I want to get her a birthday gift that… has meaning. Being with Lindsey Jordan has changed me. She has shown me that money isn’t everything, I mean I always knew that but now I have lived it. The picnic date she had organized for me the night before my birthday as my birthday gift sure didn’t cost anything close to a thousand dollars if I were to wager a guess, but I wasn’t lying when I told her it was the best birthday gift I’ve ever gotten.
