Roman's POV

It's lunch period and I'm in the cafeteria eating and chatting with my guys. While everyone else is eating food gotten from the cafeteria menu, I'm eating specially packed lunch one of my chefs prepared for me this morning.

If I was anyone else, I would get laughed at and ridiculed for bringing my own food like a kid but my friends know better than to mock Roman Masters.

I'm a picky eater and in many circumstances, I can't eat food unless I know who prepared it. Apart from this, I wouldn't trust the school cafeteria kitchens to be one hundred percent hygienic.

I'm picking at my basmati rice and curry flavor chicken stew meal and laughing at a joke one of my guys, Tommy, is telling when my cousin approaches with a terse expression I easily recognise as worried.

"What's going on?" I ask Robyn as she reaches my table and stands tensely beside me. She doesn't even spare my guys a glance when a number of them try to get her attention, so I know whatever is going must be serio

Roman offers to take me home and I agree. I'm not one to skip school or classes usually, but I can't bear to go back and face everyone. By now I'm sure the rumors have spread to unimaginable lengths even the school staff could have heard about it.I'm tired. I'm so tired. My expression must convey the sudden weakness I feel inside because Roman puts his arm over my back and helps me out of the stall. The moment we step out we are met by a girl who is washing her hands in one of the sink basin in front of the mirror on the wall. She sees Roman behind me from the mirror and lets out a fearful yell."Ahh!" She lets out in shock at having a guy coming out of a stall in the girls toilets.I fidget, not knowing how to explain the situation. She probably thinks we were doing something outrageous like making out or even having sex in the stall and because I don't need any more stains on my reputation, I open my mouth to explain.Roman uncaringly pulls me away, stopping any words from coming o

When we get to Roman's house, he parks in the garage. From what I can see from the tinted car window, the garage like the last time I was here is filled with dozens of luxurious cars. Roman steps down from the car and goes around from the driver side to the passenger side to open my door for me. He's so gentlemanly sometimes it's like he is a whole different person when he is not being his usual annoying smirking self. I climb down from the car and I am lost for some seconds staring at the exotic vehicles. Roman who doesn't notice my bewildered state places his hand on the small of my back and leads me on to the main house. As we enter the largely intimidating sitting room, I hesitate and Roman notices. "What's wrong, Cookie?" He asks me, calmly. "Uh..." I mumble, unsure of how to explain my reluctance. Roman, who is impatient standing awkwardly beside me in his own home, rolls his eyes at me and pulls me inside regardless. I drag my feet behind him. "Roman, is anyone el

"Roman!" I squeal out his name. His hands lands on my waist and goes over my belly. Oh God, he is tickling me. No, no, no. "Roman stop!" I yell out in-between bouts of laughter. Oh God, I am a ticklish person. How did he know? Roman doesn't relent even when I start begging and pleading in a barely audible tone. He continues to tickle me in my belly, my neck regions and when his fingers reach my armpits, I lose it completely. I laugh and jerk so hard and simultaneously like a convulsing person that we roll over the chairs and fall on the floor on our sides. He stops tickling me at this point and as I calm down, I notice he is laughing too. "I can't believe you just did that to me" I complain wiping tears from my eyes. I had been laughing so hard that I even cried. "How did you know I'm ticklish?" I ask him. We are both still on the floor and he rises up and extends his palm to me which he uses to pull me up as well. "I didn't know. But I guessed and I was right" He smirks at

"Yes, we already had the cookie, yes I knew we had it stocked and yes I still fought with you over it at the grocery store" Roman says. My breath leaves me and I blink rapidly, confused. "Why?" I ask. I don't sound angry because I'm not angry but I am in wonderment. This boy is unpredictable and the way he stares at me at this very moment, from beneath his long lashes like he sees through me while I think, I think I barely know him. His ways and actions are unfamiliar from what I'm used to. My brows are furrowed with confusion and my brain is spinning. He explains, "When we met- no when I saw you..." He paused with a deep inhale. I inhale too but somehow I can't let it out, I'm holding my breath as he continues. "I just wanted to talk to you. I first wanted to walk up to you and start a conversation but another guy did, I saw how you politely declined him and I knew I had to be different" He laughs but there's no amusement attached, it's dry and actually lacks humor as his stare

I wake up to sundown. I try to stretch my arms but can't. My hands feel held down. I would fear I've been kidnapped but the bed I'm lying down on is so soft, too soft to be given to a captive. It feels like the sheets are made of Egyptian cotton or something along the same lines. As I attempt to rise, my body rubs on the bed and I let out a soft moan. I pull up my legs but feel something hard beside me. Where am I? This doesn't feel like my bed. Okay, I should probably open my eyes. I do. And then I blink a dozen times from confusion because I can't recognize my surroundings. I try to pull myself up again but once more something stops my attempt. I look beside me at the restricting object and scream. "Ah!" I let out the yell and dislodge myself from the person, not an object after all, that has been tightly holding me hostage. The force of my movement causes him to release me with a speed I wasn't ready for. His sudden release plus my actions throws me out and off the side of t

Wait, no, not Roman. He can't speak because our lips are still infused together as we make out. This realization which Roman must have also come to, reveals that we are no longer alone in his room. I pull way even as Roman attempts to hold me still as if he couldn't care less about our audience but I'm already back in my senses and i pull away completely while Roman lets out a frustrated growl under his breath but also let's go of me. I look over Roman's shoulder just as he turns to his bedroom door as well. Our interrupter is Robyn, Roman's cousin. She looks at us with wide surprised eyes, her hand still clenching the door handle. "Can't you knock?" Roman questions her rudely. I pull down my top quickly and with embarrassment when I notice Robyn's gaze is fixed on my bare stomach. I blush shyly at what she must think of me, I'm sure I'm not the only girl Roman has brought to his home and I don't want to be put in the same category as every girl in his past. "I did knock, you d

Cassie however remains silent when I expect her to hit me with multiple questions. When she still stays silent for a few more seconds I glance at my phone screen to confirm she is still on the call. When I confirm she is, I speak. "I'm shocked you are quiet and not interrogating me about Roman" "That is because I'm waiting for you to tell me yourself, hopefully it'll be the truth this time" She says with a silent accusation. I think I'm in trouble... "I-" I start to speak but Cassie cuts me off, what happened to letting me speak? "I hope all the words out of the mouth will be truthful honest words?" Cassie cuts me off with the warning question. Okay, I'm definitely in trouble. "Of course, I'm offended you would think I'd lie in such a serious conversation with my best friend" I complain, aghast. "Really?" Cassie asks, disbelief and sarcasm evident in her voice "Yeah.." I answer, unsure now. "But why do I remember you lying to me multiple times this morning. I know

Not expecting my response, Roman and our onlookers all turn to gaze at me with surprise. What? Is he the newly crowned king that no one can say no to and I'm somehow unaware of this fact or what? Roman narrows his eyes at me, "Sit down, Cookie. The food is getting cold" "You are not allowed to order me around, Roman Masters" I tell him, while remaining standing. Roman glares at me now. The others are barely withholding their laughter now as Roman practically starts fuming in anger at my refusal and stubbornness. "Looks like mommy and daddy are fighting" Damon quips annoyingly, referring to Roman and I whilst still chuckling and not even trying to hide it. I start to fidget under the heavy stares and Roman's glare. My eyes catches on the delicacies of meals spread out over the dining table and my stomach releases a loud, obnoxious and embarrassing growl. Oh come on. Roman laughs this time, his glare melting away and losing its heat. "Please sit down, Cookie and let's eat. Y

On Monday after Christmas break, I drive my new new car to school. For the first time in months, I’m alone in a car. I’m driving myself rather than getting driven around like an invalid and it’s all thanks to Roman.Just like he had told me, he spoke to my mom and yesterday she even took me to shop for car accessories for my new car. Since I no longer have to worry about her feeling some type of way about Roman buying me a car, I enjoy the feeling of driving the sleekest car I have ever been in, except for Roman’s cars. When I get to school, I park my car and from the tinted glass of the windshield and windows, I can already see the students of Rixon High surrounding me, wondering who is in the car. Nearly everyone knows what everyone drives and so, a brand new expensive car such as this is bound to draw some attention.I should’ve made Roman come with me for the first day but I’m a big girl and I thought I could handle all the looks and whispers on my own. When I open my door and exi

My hand holding my phone shakes as I find Roman’s contact to call him. As my finger rests about an inch away from dialing Roman, I hesitate.I don’t know how to do it, not call him but tell him I’m refusing his gift. Even though I told mom that I’m not rejecting the gift because of her, I think I was lying. A brand new Mercedes Benz car that looks like that must cost a lot, too much. But, the thought of finally owning my own car after always having to beg Leo and ask Cassie for rides all the time feels so good. Sadly I can’t keep it. I harden my mind and call Roman. He answers on the first ring as if he has been waiting for me to call. “Do you like your car?” Is the first thing he says to me. He sounds so anxious like he can’t wait for my answer and hopes I say yes. “I… I do” I answer after a moment of hesitation. I hear Roman breath out with relief. “Thank God. I was getting worried that you didn’t like it, babe” My throat hurts as I force out the words I know he wouldn’t li

  • Hating the Billionaire Heir   Chapter One Hundred Forty-One

Lindsey’s POVOn the morning of my birthday, I wake up feeling all sorts of special. The night before, I had gotten both Christmas and birthday gifts from my mom, Leo and my friends. Leo had gotten his as well but I’m already used to sharing my birthdays with him. I gave him his gift as well. Last night, after I had unwrapped all my gifts, Roman had taken me out to dinner and while he didn’t say specifically that he was taking me out because of my birthday, I assume it was my birthday present. I loved it because the food was awesome and the company, his presence, was even better. I rise from my bed and do a little twirling on the floor, I’m just so happy. My mom yells my name from downstairs and when I quickly rush down, I see mine and Leo’s birthday cake ready with candles on the dinning table.I smile at the sight. It has always been a tradition for as long as I can remember. Mom always bakes a blue and a pink cake for Leo and I for our birthdays, the pink one for me and the blu

I turn to my cousin with a frustrated and doubt filled look. Damon raises an eyebrow at my facial expression. “Do you want my help or not?” I grunt, “Yeah I do. What type of car do you think I should get for her?” I ask him hopelessly. Damon shrugs, “A lambo or something” He replies. My jaw drops in shock, “A Lamborghini? Are you insane!?” My cousin snorts, “Don’t tell me you think it’s too expensive, she is your girlfriend whom I know you love so don’t tell me you’re deciding to be stingy with her gift” I ignore him saying I’m in love with Lindsey, I am but I’ve never told him or anyone, I haven’t even said the word to Lindsey and I should, I plan to tell her on her birthday, but that is not the point of my conversation with Damon right now. A lambo? I’m groan out, “Please where is Cassie and Robyn? I need them back.” I shake my head in exhaustion. Damon gives me a glare for doubting the reasonability of his idea which is an absolutely ridiculous idea. “Call Cassie and ask h

Roman’s POVIt is a few days to Christmas and even fewer to Lindsey’s eighteenth birthday. I have been in a bind all week contemplating a birthday gift for her. I have even brought in Damon, Robyn and Cassie to help me out with ideas and while they have tried by presenting me with numerous options, I’m not satisfied. I’m not very good at gift giving. Having so much money usually means I buy the most expensive things for my friends and family as gifts, but with Lindsey I can not exercise the same level of indifference or carefree attitude. I want to get her a birthday gift that… has meaning. Being with Lindsey Jordan has changed me. She has shown me that money isn’t everything, I mean I always knew that but now I have lived it. The picnic date she had organized for me the night before my birthday as my birthday gift sure didn’t cost anything close to a thousand dollars if I were to wager a guess, but I wasn’t lying when I told her it was the best birthday gift I’ve ever gotten.
