Walking into Swig and Swine Barbecue I can tell that I will not be walking out of there anytime soon. The vibe is all there, and everyone is friendly.
I walk straight up to the bar which is manned by the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She has the palest skin, like someone who does not enjoy the sun, and her hair is as white as snow. But her eye, oh her eyes are what draws me, it is the strangest shade of blue I have ever seen, it's pale blue but more like silver than blue, and she is built like a runner.
It is rather loud, and since the guy at the car rental place had difficulties understanding me because of my Highlander accent, I taped on my phone to ask if it is okay to have Tom in here and hand the phone to her, she nods her head looks at me then starts typing on my phone with a smirk she hands it back.
: "Cat got your tongue?" I burst out laughing,
"You're a funny one! A few people had a hard time understanding me due to my accent! I'm Scarlette!" I yell over the music and the crowd as I lean over the bar,
"Hi! I am Lydia. Nice to meet you! And I understand you quite well Scarlette!"
I smile at her " That is very good to know! And it is great to meet you, Lydia!"
She hands me a menu; I order myself a rib sandwich and loaded fries with brisket because I get more pork than I need back home and club soda to wash it all down with. Of go, of course, I am not one to sit in the middle of a rowdy crowd.
"Anything interesting happening around here lately?" I ask Lydia with the hopes she tells me about the girl I dreamed of "No, just the Jazz festival coming up, I assume that is what you are here for?" She asks handing me the card machine, I take out my iPhone to make an Apple payment.
"Yes that is why I am here but it is not my priority, I am here for another reason, the festival is just a bonus"
She looks at me rather intrigued as if she is interested in what I am talking about but at the same time she looks at Tom who is hissing at her.
"Oi, what's the matter with ya? Be kind Tom. It's not gentlemanly to treat a lady that way."
Lydia chooses to help another customer while I give Tom a talking-to and returns with my food.
"Thank you, Lydia," I say, taking the brown paper bag containing my lunch/ Dinner.
It was about five when I got back to the condo, I went to Rouses Market to get Mr. Grumpy pants, a few tins of tuna, and a carton of milk, I did find some cat snacks too.
Luckily the condo has everything one needs like plates bowls forks and so forth. I set Tom's bowl of Tuna next to me on the couch while we both sit and eat.
I knew I should have taken a shower before I ate...I may have overfed Tom too because he passed out already. So I take our dishes and put them into the dishwasher then make my way to the shower.
After my phone call with my grandsire, I passed out immediately.
"Welcome back your Holiness, I see you are enjoying the human world on your new trip." I look around and it looks like spring, I am on the patio of a very grand-looking mansion looking at the Olympic-sized pool with a wonderfully healthy spread for breakfast. I look next to me and it's the same being from my first dream minus the sword and the wings and the violent look. This time he actually smiles down at me, I look around to find that it is only the two of us so he cannot be talking to anyone else.
"I am indeed Gadreel, they are the most fascinating creatures the creator has ever made. '' To my surprise, those elegantly spoken words came from my mouth. This is not weird at all. "You should come and join me sometime, I promise you will not regret it in the least." chuckling and shaking his head Gadreel responds "When you need me, your Holiness, I shall be there other than that I choose to stay my post." I nod my head while sitting down and pouring myself a cup of tea. "Suit yourself then. Any updates for me?"
Nodding his head he takes the cup of tea I had offered him and starts his update;
Your new descendant seems to be a fast learner and is taking your presence very well however, has not yet figured out when she is in the presence of your creations, which would be helpful if she ever runs into rebellious ones. "
Frowning I take a sip of my tea and look back at the fallen angel;
"I see what you mean, she has not read the journals I have left her previously? "
He looks me in my eyes with a smile I have never seen before:
"Oh she is reading them alright, as she reads she practices, thus my observation is that she is a quick study just a slow reader, she eats more than anything else." Snickering, I shake my head at Gadreel.
"Very well then, I will take over when my new progeny is in harm's way and unable to defend our body. Now tell me of my son."
Popping a red grape into his mouth he looks over his shoulder to the pool, tilts his head to the left, sighs, and informs me that my son is being who he was meant to be.
"When Scarlette met you for the first time in this realm you mentioned getting back here, here I am my apologies for the delay. "
"Yes Holiness, It has to do with your son, he is being himself as stated previously however, he is becoming rather antsy." Deep in thought, I take one look at Gadreel, he seems very worried about this particular matter.
"Leave it to me, I will pay him a visit myself."
Nodding his head in understanding and gratitude.
"Before you leave Holiness, one more question."
I smile at him as I rise from my seat and dust the invisible dust off my dress
"Why always a Scot?"
"Because Brits are royal pains in my arse, and Americans are obnoxious want-to-be's. No offense to anyone who has chosen those as their lineage. I prefer being a feisty redhead everyone knows not to mess with whilst I mind my own business."
opening my eyes, what an odd dream. It was me, speaking to the fighting guy with wings, only this time no wings. Holiness? Why was I talking about myself in the third person?
And who were they calling slowly? I will get on with my reading Right after I warm up another cup of coffee, but perhaps a shower first.
Rolling out of bed, I head straight into the bathroom for a shower as I look at the time in the microwave. Well, I guess I might as well dress comfortably because it is only 3 a.m.
Warming up a cup of coffee I get right on to reading the journals left behind by "Your holiness" who from what I gather has been body-jumping from the beginning of my family tree! What a revelation.
I should learn to keep a separate journal for my dreams, another reason to find a Typo in New Orleans.
As I stand and wait for the microwave to finish warming up my coffee and ponder about what I could eat I feel a tingle of hunger rising in my belly but somewhere along the way, my mind wonders about things closer to my lineage.
Things that I thought I knew everything about.
My family has many deep secrets, from what I can gather we must be royalty that is what they call Queens back in the day right? Holiness but then what's with the angel? Oh my God am I a goddess? What would the odds be? I need to get reading on these bloody journals so I can get to know myself better, and get to know the woman who came before me better.
Uhm perhaps instead of N*****x and chill I will do exactly that, read a couple of journals and eat and have coffee until I eventually fall asleep. Yeah, I think that is a good idea, just as I am about to get one of the journals the microwave beeps and I get distracted because my tummy decides at that moment to growl as well. I will get an Uber Eats I guess, what the heck do I order there are so many options.
As Gabriel sat in his small apartment, lost in thought, his phone buzzed with a message from an unknown number. Curiosity piqued, he unlocked his phone and read the message that appeared on the screen:"Protect Scarlett at all costs. Danger approaches. Trust in your bond."Confusion and concern filled Gabriel's mind. Who could have sent this message? And why was Scarlett in danger? He quickly dialed Scarlett's number, his heart pounding with worry."Gabriel?" Scarlett's voice sounded anxious over the phone. "Did you get a strange message too?""Yeah, I did. ALTERNATE UNIVERSE Kael stepped forward, his face tense. "Your Majesty, Scarlette, Demetrius," he greeted them, bowing low. "I have troubling news from the Vampire Council." Gabriel's jaw clenched. "What is it?" "The Council has received reports of a group of rogue vampires attacking nearby villages, killing and turning humans indiscriminately," Kael explained. "They believe that it might be the work of one of our own." Gabriel's eyes narrowed. "One of our own?" "Yes, Your Majesty," Kael confirmed. "The Council suspects that the perpetrator might be one of the rebels who defied their orders and left the clan years ago." Scarlette felt a shiver run down her spine. "What do we do?" "We investigate," Gabriel said firmly. "We cannot let our kind be associated with this kind of brutality. We will find the perpetrator and bring them to justice." Scarlette nodded, knowing that Gabriel was right. They could not let their love for each other blind them to the responsibilities that came
"You have been chosen by the shifting stars, Scarlett," the oracle began in a voice that resonated through the room. "Your journey is not just to save Gabriel, but to fulfill a prophecy that has spanned centuries." Scarlett's pulse quickened, her curiosity mounting. She leaned forward, eager to hear the secrets of her past and the purpose of her quest. "Long ago," the oracle continued, "there existed a powerful kingdom ruled by a benevolent queen. This queen possessed the ability to harness the energy of the shifting stars, bringing balance and harmony to the land." Scarlett's eyes widened, her mind racing with the possibility of her connection to this queen. "You, Scarlett, are this queen," the oracle revealed. "The powers you possess, the strength within you, they are a gift from your bloodline as the daughter of Helle, granddaughter of Creation. Your purpose is to restore the shattered balance, to protect the world from the darkness that seeks to consume it." Scarlett's head sp

As the car zoomed down the winding road, singing along to their favorite tunes, Scarlett couldn't shake off the feeling that something strange was about to happen. A chill ran down her spine, making her hair stand on end. Her ocean-blue eyes darted around, searching for any sign of what was to come. Suddenly, a sharp pang shot through Scarlett's head. She winced, clutching her temples, as a voice echoed in her mind. It was gentle yet commanding, like a whisper carried by the wind. "Scarlett," the voice called, resonating in her thoughts. Confused and a little frightened, Scarlett glanced around in the car at her friends, but they seemed oblivious to what she was experiencing. She shifted in her seat, trying to make sense of it all. "Seek the ancient artifact, hidden deep within the forest," the voice continued, its urgency creeping into Scarlett's mind. "It holds the power to awaken your true abilities and unlock the secrets of your past." Scarlett's heart raced. Who was speaking t
