Chapter 23
“Why, Brother, is there still pain with you?” I turned to her, and acted like I was listening to what she was saying.
“Hmm, n-nothing—”
“Do you want me to get you clothes so you can get dressed up? Your---c-clothes are full of blood.” Tonette averted her eyes from me after she said those words. It was a long time before I understood what she was saying.
I immediately rummaged through my clothes, and checked to see if what the girl was saying was true. And she’s not even lying because my clothes looked like it was intentionally painted red. My white t-shirt last night has now turned dark red. And my clothes are stiff.
I’m worried about Tonette, because she already knew the real change in myself. I know that I want her to be conscious that I am like this. But not in that way, because that was the first time I tasted blood---and I even tasted human blood.
“Aren’t you afraid of me?” My eyes are not on her, becau
Chapter 24I faced Tonette and knelt in front of her, and then, touched her two shoulders. I stared into her eyes carefully. I need to know something from what she said when we talked about the woman who looks like Dralia.“Hmm, Tonette---” my opening speech.“Hmm? Yes?” She said in response.“I’m just going to ask you right now about what you mentioned to me last time, about a woman who always visits here, the one you said who looks like, as the woman next to me in the photo?” I slowly narrated to her what I wanted to ask her since. She thought slightly before speaking. “Is it about the woman I mentioned some previous days, Brother?” She then asked.I nodded immediately. And eager to know what she could say about it. “Yes, it’s about her.” I then said.“Erm, the truth is---” She scratched her head before continuing what she is about t
Chapter 25So many questions suddenly flashed through my mind as Dralia, and I hugged each other even longer.“Dralia, how long have you been alive? I mean, have you get up from your grave?” I slowly let go of her hug so she could talk properly.“Honestly, Harris, I didn’t die, I mean, I wasn’t buried really.” She answered me.I was a little surprised by her confession.“But? Isn’t it true, we were both stabbed, and lost consciousness because of what your grandmother did to us? What do you mean you were not buried?” I kept asking her questions out of confusion. She took a deep breath, and bowed her head for a moment, and calmed herself. “I’m a human, but with vampire blood.” She immediately said to me.“And, then?” I am still confused. She frowned at what I said.“What’s up? Aren’t you surprised?”
Chapter 26I forced a laugh. “Tell me you are just having a good time with me. How come you have a sister? Didn’t your mother, and father split up?” I asked Dralia calmly.“In a hundred years ago, Harris, a lot happened. While you were peacefully lying, and sleeping in your coffin with your parents, many things had happened to me. To my family, in particular, since we are vampires.” She answered.“So, does that mean your grandma and grandpa are still alive?” I have no brakes in asking her a question.“It’s twenty years ago already since they passed away, Harris.” She replied.I felt a sudden joy inside of me, so I looked at Dralia excitedly. But what I concluded from her face, it was as if she was sad, maybe given the fact that the old grandma and grandpa were gone.“Actually, since that incident, there has been a commotion, right? But later on, they forgave e
Chapter 27 A map? And royal vampire races? But why did she give it to me?“But, Dralia, why me?” I asked her out of curiosity.“What do you mean by why it’s you?” She answered me a question.“I mean, why did you give it to me? Shouldn’t you be the one to wear it? Given the fact that you are the one assigned to be the Princess of the entire Dracu Del Mundo. Especially now that your Grandma and Grandpa are gone.” I replied to her.She moves closer to me. “Yes, I am the heir. But the problem is, many wanted to claim the power to conquer the entire race of vampires. And evil ones are planning to trace the places where the other vampires are located now. I don’t want them to get ahead of us to figure that out. And I don’t want to have that in my possession because I know, I’m the one they’re ai
Chapter 28Ever since Dralia walked here, and I have learned the whole truth of what happened to us a hundred years ago, Dralia has often visited here carrying many cartons containing bottles of blood. Therefore, she seems to be the blood supplier here for Tonette, and me. By the way, about Tonette. When I found out that they were siblings, I felt even more relieved when I’m with her. That is why they have a resemblance in their eyes. Where is that kid? Hmm, she was just here a while ago.I first lowered the glass I had been drinking from and laid it on the table. I stood up, and carefully rolled my eyes at the entire space of this mansion.“Tonette?” I called her first. But I heard no response. So I decided to call her again.“Tonette? Where are you?” I shouted as I called her name again, but as before, I still did not get a response.Where is that kid? I thought carefully about where to find her. And
Chapter 29“Wait, I’m still confused until now, can I ask a question again?” Heavy questions were stuck in my mind. The siblings nodded so I continued the questions that were bothering my mind.“Why are we prolonging to make use of this key? If only we could find the map, and go to the place where the other vampires are.” I asked them a long question.“It’s not that easy, Harris,” Dralia quickly opposed my suggestion, so, we could do what we were supposed to do.“What do you mean by that, Dralia? Why not? After all, here is the key, here is your sister, Tonette, whose blood will serve as our guide to the place you were saying.” I asked her.Tonette was shaking her head again, and again, so I was confused by their movements.“Haven’t we already talked about this, Tonya?” Dralia’s sermon to her sister, Tonette.“Sister, Brot
Chapter 30After planning the whole day, we went to bed early last night, and now we are packing for the long haul as we travel to the very top of that Del Mundo mountain range. We carried cartons of blood, some tools, and most importantly, white cloth to be used to keep Tonette’s blood.“Why don’t we just jump around, Dralia, just like you did when you were in the hospital,” I suggested.“We can do that.” She replied.“Oh, so it’s really fine indeed, wait! Just you? Why just the both of you only? I’m a vampire, too, right?” I clarified.“Because, Brother, you’re not a vampire yet, in its full transformation. So for now, we’ll just walk, first.” Tonette explained.I was suddenly nervous.“Just walking?” I clarified.“Yes!” She answered.I went to the window and peeked a little outside. But be
Chapter 31We were already tracking down the narrow road to the other side of town. It was still afternoon since we have been walking in the middle of this forest. Because the road is so narrow, we can’t walk together. So, Tonette was in the front, Dralia was in the middle, just next to her sister. And I was the last. I looked back at what we had walked before, and realized that we were far from civilization.“Is there a problem?” Dralia was worried.Dralia caught my attention. I also looked at Tonette who had also stopped walking and was anxiously waiting for me to answer.“W-What? No, let’s move on.” I replied.Dralia didn’t appeal to my answer so we just continued walking again. Steep roads are what we’re going through now, only the size of this road we are located right now is like only a span. So, possible that we can just step on the part with the grass. We made the right decisi
Chapter 78We lost sight of the strange cloud we saw earlier, and instead of looking for that strange cloud, we just ignored it in the end, seeing that if we choose our curiosity over our mission, it might slow down our journey. Curiosity kills, as others would say. We just tell and make ourselves believe that maybe that strange cloud we saw just does not exist for real. Or maybe we did not see it in a clear view. What’s important now is our mission, nothing else would matter most. And maybe the three of us just see it as something unusual but not in the actual.“Won’t you still stop waiting for that strange cloud to come out again, Brother Harris, and Kiloy? Because if you’ll ask me if I were you, just don’t bother to disturb that cloud anymore. It is a waste of our time. Your curiosity will slow us down. That may just want our attention. And it is unworthy for real. Let’s just leave it l
Chapter 77We now continued our journey, left the river after we already satisfied our thirst, and then walked and walked to where our feet would take us. We don’t want to waste our time, since Dralia, and the whole palace including the whole vampire race needs us now. I’m just worried now on this walk of ours, what if we meet some other kingdoms again? How can we explain to them that we are not adversaries? That we don’t have any single intention to harm them and their entire kind? What if we meet some obstacles or challenges along the way that will slow down our pace? What if something will happen to us while we are busy completing our mission and do not care anymore about our safety? I have these thousands of what-ifs in my mind, but I am motivating myself to do my best through this journey, and finishing it successfully will be great. It would be nice if Dralia was given a choice to be with us right now because we did
Chapter 76We don’t have any slightest idea of where we are now, but given that we already feel tired, it only means that we are already far from where we came from, which is the palace, and we, in that far just by running and jumping as quickly as possible. Our tiredness is like killing us slowly, that is why we stopped and rested for the meantime. We need to rest of course especially that we had to use our energy that much to quickly get out from the palace unnoticed by the black vampires. It is not an easy task to do since vampires have a strong smell. That means it can smell anything, everything. You name it. This is the right timing for us to rest since the morning already arrived and we are still running and jumping around not noticing it. It slipped out from our minds since we don’t care anymore if the morning reached us. All we think about is how to get out, continue the journey even with Dralia not around unlike the usual, and most
Chapter 75How long have we been here inside the CR, just staying inside and waiting for Dralia to permit us to at least show ourselves but Tonette still doesn’t let us out. I am now even more confused about what was happening right now. What’s going on outside and why doesn’t she let us out? What is it, for real? Is Dralia still safe?Where are Tita Delia and Sir Dracu? Why are we hiding like this as if someone had just arrived and does not want to see us? I hope Kiloy and I hurried to use the bathroom earlier, it may be possible that we can still have a chance to witness or at least had a peek with the incident right at this moment outside. And maybe I could be of help just in case something bad happened outside. I just hope Dralia and her parents are still outside safe and sound. And I just hope this hiding will end in no time for I am very worried about Dralia now and wanted to see her in an instant with my two eyes.
Chapter 74We made the most out of the few hours we could spend with Dralia’s parents since we only have limited time now. The full moon is fast approaching and we should continue our journey to Del Mundo Mountains again so we could reach there right on time. As well as we still can plan our next move upon reaching there. We should hurry before it is too late. All the fellow vampires hope that we could do our mission successfully and we could save everyone, even humans from bad vampires as well.To make our stay more memorable since we only have a little time left to stay here, we had a celebration in which Dralia first informed us of the reason why we held this kind of celebration and her parents agreed to prepare for everyone. This celebration symbolizes hope for everyone that we could make it and finish our mission right on time, and a reminder to us that they trust us and we should try our best to fulfill our mission for them. It is like a fa
Chapter 73There was a sudden knock on the door. That unexpected knock made us quickly arranged ourselves properly before we answered who knocked on the door and found out who was waiting outside. After the door opened, that was the only time we had come to realize that we didn’t lock it earlier the moment we entered the room. That made my heartbeat raised faster than the actual upon realizing that we were just as calm as it was, not knowing or making sure of locking the door in the first place before doing something that would be embarrassing for the both of us if ever someone of their family, like one of her parents or maybe Tonette, who would be caught us doing awkward thing inside. We were both very careless. How idiot we were. But we didn’t blame ourselves to the fullest since we did not plan of doing it in the first place. It was just an accident for real. We were just being drowned in our emotions and that ma
Chapter 72After Tonette and I talked last night about what I had dreamed, I left her in the living room after I asked her permission to leave first, since there was nothing else to talk about and I had already collected information that I could connect piece by piece to come up a solid explanation about my dream, if it was for real or just a dream at all. There is still a part of me that wants to just keep in myself about what’s inside of my dream that night. I am half bothered but I don’t want to believe that what’s in my dream could possibly happen because I don’t what will I do or what can I do if ever. Dralia and I also talked about what happened last night. I did not have a second thought anymore on telling her about it and asking her some questions because I really wanted to know the whole truth. I told her how I felt after that dream and it never left my mind since. I have the right to know how Dralia feels about being forced by t
Chapter 71When Kiloy cried all of a sudden, he said something that opened my eyes. He seems to have mentioned the incident last night.“I’ll read it tonight, I hope there’s no noise later, just so I don’t wake up anymore or be disturb.” He said that comfortably, it seemed like he just didn’t care to say that.“What’s that again, Kiloy?” it would have been appropriate for him to leave when I stopped him.“Huh? Why Harris? ” he looked at me in surprise.“You said there was a noise last night,” I repeat I am probably very desperate to listen now, because of my question to Kiloy.Earlier I asked Tonette, now I ask Kiloy. Maybe I shouldn’t ask them about that anymore.“Ahh, it doesn’t matter, then it’s not imp ---.” I stopped speaking when he answered my question. I thought he would ignore my question to him.
Chapter 70I am now sitting by myself in the living room, and at the same time reading the books from under the table. I was just seriously reading something I didn’t even mind about the surroundings when the chair I was sitting on all of a sudden moved on its own. I was startled knowing that I am just alone in here, but why all of a sudden my chair moved even if I didn’t move it myself personally.“ Brother Harris?” I dropped the book because of shock when I realized Tonette was now by my side in an instant. It double my heartbeat upon realizing how Tonette just emerge that quickly and out of nowhere like a wild mushroom without me expecting or just sensing it myself. I tried to fix myself and asked her why went here unannounced. “W-What are you doing here?” Even if I am still startled by the thought of her being with me now
