Chapter 7: Tequila Neat & Letter
-
Natalia's P.O.V
I took a seat around the bar with Alessandro as we waited for James to come off his phone so he could take our order.
"Isn't it too early in the morning to be drinking?" He asked me.
"You sound like my mother," I replied just as James approached us.
"Sorry for the wait. What can I get you today, Natalia?
"2 tequilas. Neat." The bartender immediately made the drinks giving Alessandro the chance to speak again.
"Why tequila neat? Why not the on rocks?"
"Because when the ice melts it changes its flavour," I replied which earned an impressed grin from him.
"Correct."
James placed the drinks against the counter before busying himself with cleaning the bar.
I drank the tequila in one go while he took a sip as if to savour the taste as you would wine.
"You're not really a drinker?" He shrugged, "I am, but not in the mornings."
"Then join me for drinks tonight?" This seemed to earn a smile which he tried to hide as he took another sip of his tequila this time finishing it.
"Enjoying my company?" I shook my head, even though I was.
"I don't think your sister is ready for another night with me," I stated, referring to her long lasting hangover.
"So, I'm a replacement?" I only smiled as I reached over the bar taking a bottle that was soon revealed to be whiskey.
"Take it as a compliment, it's not every day I invite people to drink with me," I told him while opening the bottle.
"Your guests say otherwise." He replied looking into my eyes.
I noticed a shift in his mood as if the memory and the mere mention of them made him upset.
"They definitely weren't here for drinks." He continued to hold eye contact as he spoke once again.
"I guess that means they'll be back?" My brows furrowed in both amusement and confusion as I could sense he didn't like the thought at all.
"Even though I don't mind discussing my hookups. I have to ask, why do you care so much?" He looked away from me which told me he didn't want to answer that question or he wasn't ready to.
But before I could speak again, the bar door opened revealing my mother.
"I knew I'd find you both here. I'm guessing this was Natalia's favourite part of the tour?" Alessandro nodded offering her a smile.
"It was, but why were you looking for us?"
"I invited a few friends over for dinner, but I wanted to check if that was ok with you?" I was now curious.
Who was she inviting?
I brushed off that question knowing I actually didn't care.
"It's your home you shouldn't have to worry about my opinion." This seemed to bring a smile to my mother's face as she spoke once again.
"Alright, I'll be taking my leave. Dinner will be ready in the next 4 hours." We nodded allowing her to walk away.
"So are you going to answer the question?" It took him a second to realize what I was talking about before he shook his head with a smile.
"Not yet. I need to go look for Alessia and inform her about dinner." I noticed he was trying to leave in hopes to ignore the question fully.
"Ok, I'll send a maid to bring her to my room 2 hours before so I can give her something to wear and do her makeup." He only nodded, moving off the stool.
"I'll see you later."
He spared me one glance before leaving, I let out a sigh before drinking my whiskey from the bottle.
-
After about 3 hours at the bar talking to James, I decided to go to my room but not before asking a maid to send Alessia to my room in the next 20 minutes.
When I entered my room I was instantly greeted by the sight of a note that sat beside a wine bottle on my desk.
This sparked my curiosity as I walked towards the note, picking it up before I began to read it.
Dear Natalia,
I've been watching you for some time. I'm coming for you, watch your back.
-R
I rolled my brown eyes as I knew the letter was probably a joke from Ryan, my ex-boyfriend.
I put the letter aside as I brought the wine into my hand, opening it.
I drank it slowly to savour its taste. I had to admit this was probably the best wine I've had in days.
I didn't finish it as I knew I would want some later so I placed it into my little fridge that was located beside my wooden desk before taking a shower.
I let out a relaxed sigh when the water fell against my skin. I wished I could stay here forever, but I knew the hot water wouldn't be here for too long.
-
After I took a shower, I brushed my teeth before wrapping a towel around my body as I left my bathroom to make my way towards my closet.
Unfortunately, the second I stepped out of the bathroom I immediately saw Alessia and Alessandro talking by the door.
Their attention went to me as the bathroom door closed.
I would have expected Alessandro to take in my appearance but his eyes stayed on mine, not daring to let them fall further.
I diverted my attention to Alessia, "I'm sorry, I forgot you were coming. Let me get dressed."
I went into my walk-in closet, changing into a knee-length red dress that held onto my body tightly.
I didn't bother to put on any makeup besides red lipstick and I left my hair alone as it curled naturally.
When I was finished, I left the closet with my heels in my hand.
I had expected to see Alessandro, but only Alessia stood at the door this time.
"Where's your brother?" I inquired.
"He went to his room to get dressed." She answered.
"Alright. Do you want me to do your makeup?" She shook her head.
"I don't have the patience for that." I smiled, silently agreeing.
"Let's just get your dress then. I think blue would look good on you." I made a gesture for her to follow me to my closet.
It took a few minutes for us to decide on a dress since we both had very different tastes, but we finally agreed on something.
"Thank you, Natalia. Remind me to buy you a dress when this is done...but that's if it can fit in here." I chuckled softly.
"Let me straighten your hair."
-
After a good 15 minutes, she was finally ready for dinner.
Her light brown hair fell gracefully against her shoulders, kissing the blue long sleeves that were connected to her slightly long sky blue dress that seemed to compliment her blue eyes.
"Ready?" I asked and she nodded allowing us to leave my room.
As we went down the stairs, we caught the sight of Alessandro walking towards the dining room too.
"Alessandro, wait on us," Alessia called out causing him to turn to us, meeting his sister's eyes, but his gaze instantly shifted to me.
I watched and felt his eyes trail down my body, taking in my dress and my curves shamelessly.
I couldn't help as my eyes did the same.
The suit he wore was perfect for his frame, his hair was styled neatly yet it looked messy at the same time.
His eyes met mine once again as we made our way down the stairs.
He held out his hand for me to take, I hesitated for a second before slipping mine into his, allowing him to help me down the last few steps.
He stood in front of me giving me the chance to take in his alluring scent that made me want to lean in just so it would never leave.
I felt completely relaxed as he gently rubbed his thumb against my hand like he wanted to remember this feeling and if I was being entirely honest, I never wanted him to let go.
"I can literally feel the sexual tension rolling off you two," Alessia stated amused, causing us to break apart as I moved out of his hold.
I decided not to reply to her statement as I continued my journey towards the dining room with them quietly talking behind me.
Before I had the chance, Alessandro opened the door for me. I looked up at him pushing down every feeling in my chest as I walked in with Alessia beside me.
"Natalia." A familiar voice said.
I let out an annoyed sigh as I met her eyes.

- Chapter 8: Past Memories & His Stare - Flashback 1 year ago "Hey call me back when you get this," Natalia said before she hung up. She sighed, that was the fourth time she called her boyfriend, Ryan. After a few minutes with no text or calls from him. She decided to check on him seeing as his house was not far from hers. She walked downstairs where she saw her moth
- Chapter 9: Alcohol & Poison - Alessandro and I talked for a while which distracted me from my screaming hunger. Luckily the door slowly opened. I silently hoped it was the last guest because I knew if I had to wait any longer I wouldn't be able to stop myself from eating. "Sorry, I'm late." I instantly glared at the person who entered. "Ryan, It's no problem dear. Take a seat so we can start dinner," My mother said with a smile while doing her best to avoid my glare. Ryan immediately made his way over to me as he wor
- Chapter 10: Forgive & Fights - I woke up the next day to the sound of my alarm which I had set for 6 am due to the fact I had barely had the chance to work out since the incident. I laid on my bed still extremely tired which had me wondering what was the point of sleeping? I sat up with the little strength I had before stretching. Despite my body's pleads for sleep I stood with a yawn as I headed to the bathroom to take a shower that I hoped would wake me up. - After
- Chapter 11: Date & Diner - Natalia's P.O.V After leaving the gym I decided just to go for a walk in the garden to clear my head and hopefully remove every thought of Alessandro. I hated myself for the fact that I couldn't stop thinking about him. No matter how hard I tried to forget his smiles and his eyes I knew they'd stay in my mind until the end of time. What was it about him? Was it the way he said my name? Was it the way he stared?
- Chapter 12: Awards & News - Natalia's P.O.V Once we finished our meal we left the diner but not before saying goodbye to Sarah and March. The second we entered the car, I turned to him. "So, are we going back to my house now?" "No, we have one more place to go." He told me as he started the car. "But-" He instantly interrupted my sentence. "No buts, Natalia. Relax." Alessandro offered me a
- Chapter 13: Torture & Needs - "Where is he?" I asked entering the room once again after I changed my clothes. "You can't see him right now." My mother told me as Alessandro walked inside the room in a new change of clothes. "How did this even happen?" "Your father sent him to handle a shipment but he was ambushed on the way, the person attacked him...and now he won't wake up." I closed my eyes letting out a breath to steady myself. "Did you find the person who did this?" My father nodded. "Where are they?"
- Chapter 14: Avoiding & Contract - It was the next day, I was currently in my father's office informing my parents about Jen's confession. "I think it's safe to say that we need help from the Italian mafia since this R person is coming for us both." My father stated in deep thought. "Natalia, could you get Alessandro? I need him to sign the contract." I nodded trying to push down my nervousness as I left his office. My heart was going at an impossible speed as I walked closer and closer to Alessandro's room. Memories from last night rushed through my head like a river falling off a cliff.
- Chapter 15: Fallen & American - When Alessandro went to Italy, it gave Natalia more time to think about her feelings for him and whether or not it was more sexual than emotional but she knew she wouldn't have time to sit and think as she had many things to do during the day. - Natalia laid back in her chair as the man came out of the shower, she was waiting for him to open the door as she held her gun in her hand. It didn't take a minute for the man to open the door, he stood in his towel eyes widened in shock as he saw her sitting a few feet away from him, "Hello Michael, it's been what...3 weeks?" "Natalia, I don't have the money." She sighed checking the time on the Rolex on her wrist which was actually his. "I don't have time for your lies, this watch looks awfully expensive for a man with your salary." "It was a gift from my sister.
- Book 2: Epilogue - 5 YEARS LATER Natalia's P.O.V "Happy birthday, beautiful." I heard Alessandro behind me which had me turning off the tv before facing him. "Don't remind me." He only smiled while pressing a kiss against my forehead. "I'm sorry I'm late, my flight got delayed." I gave him a smile of reassurance. "It's fine, I got to spend more time with the kids," I informed him while he took a seat beside me. "That's good to hear, so do you want anything for this birthday?" I stared into his eyes as I bit my lip. "I can get anything I want?" He laughed lightly at my tone. "Besides that, our beautiful children are still awake." I sighed playfully. "Alright, can you make me some pancakes?" "It's 6 pm, Nat." I shrugged. "Isn't it my birthday?" "I guess,
-Book 2: Chapter 28: I & Do-A month later"I already told you we're not gonna have a ceremony, I think having the rings are enough," I told my mother while taking a seat beside Alessandro as he held Dream in his hands.I had Rose in mine."In other words, if she wanted to break up with him she wouldn't have to go through that whole divorce drama," Andrey added making me nod."Exactly." This earned a scoff from Alessandro.
-Book 2: Chapter 27: Pregnant & Yes-A year later"I've never hated you more Alessandro," I stated, making him smile as he flushed the toilet that held my vomit."You're the one who wanted another child. I thought you'd be satisfied after 4." I rolled my eyes as I washed out my mouth before quickly brushing my teeth which didn't take more than 2 minutes."I forgot how the first few months are," I mumbled while putting away my toothbrush, feeling tears greeting my eyes. "I hate this."
-Book 2: Chapter 26: Another & Time-Natalia's P.O.VI pulled back from his lips to stare into his brown eyes that reminded me of home."I love you," I whispered trying to push back the feeling of tiredness since I had woken up a few minutes ago."And I love you. I was scared I'd lose you last night." He admitted while holding me against his naked chest."You'll n
-Chapter 25: Kennedy & Gunshot-Natalia's P.O.V"What are you talking about?""Come on, Natalia. Do you really think a 16 year old could have this much money? This many bodyguards? This many guns? By herself?""As I said, she helped me and in return, I helped her." She informed me which didn't clear up all the confusion my mind held."I don't understand. Why would she want revenge if she left Alessandro and Alessia years ag
- Chapter 24: Future & Revenge - Natalia's P.O.V I drove towards the warehouse with a heavy chest as I came closer and closer to the location my sister had given me. I was racking my brain trying to figure out what she was going to do to me once I arrived. This made me wish I had told my kids one last goodbye. I was silently hoping this wouldn't be my last night on this earth, but I knew hope wasn't something steady to rely on.
- Chapter 23: Kirill & Alone - Natalia's P.O.V Hours had passed since dinner even though Maria obviously wanted to speak to me earlier, for some reason she chose to put it off. I was curious as to why, but I decided not to question it as my mind's focus now shifted to the kiss Amanda and Alessandro shared which had been bugging me all night. I knew it shouldn't have bothered me because he already explained their arrangement, but I couldn't help the anger and jealousy that rose in my chest. I took out a bottle of tequila from the
- Chapter 22: Know & Kisses - Natalia's P.O.V We entered the dining room where my family sat talking away. "You all took your time." My mother commented as Alessandro and I slipped our kids into the high chairs my parents bought. "At least we came," I said while taking a seat next to Andrey, sadly Amanda made Alessandro sit next to her. My eyes met Maria's to see she was already staring at me. "I heard you missed." She smiled amused when I said this.
- Chapter 21: Ilaria & Smart - Natalia's P.O.V Once we had showered and gotten dressed, we made our way to the kitchen. Alessia and the twins were quietly talking about the cartoon they had been watching yesterday. When our footsteps were heard, they turned to us. "You two took your time," Alessia commented with a knowing smile, I decided to ignore her as I bent down, matching my children's height. "How many pancakes
